The dual dual exposures, having the shark with an open mouth close enough, proper angle of the camera are just a few of them! Of course having the ocean perfectly calm really makes this a lot easier so summer months at Tiger Beach are the very best time! I have always said that my desire to strive for the perfect shot have cost me a fortune in both time and equipment and this image was the most costly. This lemon shark split took me 7 years and 24 domes destroyed before I was finally happy! The domes are destroyed when the shark closes its jaw on them with the teeth! The Italian stream frog (Rana italica) is unique to the Apennines mountains of Italy, from Liguria, where these images were taken, down South to Calabria this species is commonly found in the small and often ephemeral streams, where they breed very early right at the end of the winter (or even during winter) and deposit their eggs under stones in very shallow waters.
