yes let’s talk about The Little Mermaid 2.0 because oh boy

this movie tried so hard. it tried so, so hard. it tried so hard it broke itself under the weight of its own effort

“aquaman’s not just some NERD who loves ANIMALS, he’s a MAN’S MAN, he’s a MANLY MAN, look at his manly beard and the way his muscles ripple underneath his tats, you can smell the motorcycle grease rolling off him. also he can commune with whales teehee (: but MAKE NO MISTAKE HE IS A M A N” *electric guitar screech*

when half your movie needs to be told through flashbacks and drawn-out explanations of legend after legend and backstory after backstory, well, that’s just bad storytelling folks

the soundtrack shifted gears so often and rapidly that my neck still hurts from the tonal whiplash. i’ve never seen a movie try to be so many genres at once and miss the mark on all of them

two people a few seats away from us walked out halfway through the film and didn’t come back

we could also hear audible sighs from the audience every time a Romantic Scene™️ happened

is the king of Atlantis determined by who has the shiniest fork or by who can yell the loudest? unclear

this just in, scientists were wrong about the earth’s core, it is a perfectly inhabitable oasis, more at 11

is it my imagination or were all the Important Atlantians white while none of the blacksmiths who forged the magic trident were. do you know it is a distinctly uncomfortable experience watching several not-white men slaving away in less-than-ideal conditions to create a very valuable object that they then kneel and present to their royal white overlords. i’m not saying this was done on purpose i’m just saying maybe somebody should have thought this through 

didn’t know Mothman had such a hankering for fried fish

a lot of this film was actually very very pretty and Aesthetic, which makes it a shame everything else was so tacky

the half a minute of backstory on the rise and fall of Atlantis was way more interesting to me than anything else that happened, where can I see that movie

doggo was best and most believable character 10/10

I rate this movie a 2/10 for pretty much Everything but an 8/10 for the dog and how much @woppy42 and I laughed throughout. (mostly the dog tho)

I just had a bad dream and you were there we were at my old elementary school but it was full of snakes and cats and alligators and you got bit by a snake so I drove you ( badly ) in a bus to the nurse but outside was infected with snakes and you had to get out and run inside real quick and somehow I got bit too and my hand started swelling up and why did it have to be snakes Bry ( you freaked out over how badly I was driving tho it was hilarious )
