please go on about Lucanis and Spite being venom coded. Would someone care? ME!

The following thoughts are a result of my first playthrough where I encouraged Lucanis to work with Spite and accept him. Mileage may vary based on your own choices! Also, spoilers potentially if you haven't at least finished Lucanis's personal quests up to and including Inner Demons!

They just have the same vibe to me. Two broken things coming together to make a better whole. Brought together under much less than ideal circumstances, forced to try to survive in a place meant to break both of them, and coming out of the experience with, if not quite a bond yet, at least an Understanding.

Spite, angry and hurt and corrupted from what he once was, finding some peace and stability sharing space with Lucanis, who has made a living guarding his secretly soft heart. Lucanis borrowing from the endless well of determination (wink wink) that Spite provides, and finding the strength to go on despite all he's been through.

Their fragile bond growing stronger as they learn to work together to help the Veilguard!!!

They go from being barely able to coexist (Spite throwing tantrums, lashing out and hurting Lucanis physically) to looking out for each other and bonding over their mutual fascination with Rook. Lucanis mellows Spite out, allows him a chance to interact with the world in a positive way. Spite protects Lucanis from threats to body and mind. They grow their relationship from a forced possession that neither of them wanted, parasitism, to symbiosis.

#vague veilguard spoilers I guess?#anyway this is word vomit but I feel many strong things about both of them and I need to write about it soon #something about the way they were both victims and had to rely on each other to survive but struggled to make it work initially #spite having been so fundamentally and cruelly corrupted and changed against his will #(I have thoughts about what Spite even IS but thats for another post)#I just think being close to someone as good natured as Lucanis healed something broken in Spite #and Spite's efforts to pull Lucanis out of the trauma palace he created in his own head show that he cares too #anyway Them #dragon age #dragon age the veilguard
