John's gaze was flickering between the heavy, ancient door that refused to budge and the church walls surrounding them that offered no suggestion of where to go — when Lorelai's voice broke through his rapidly moving thoughts. Turning to face her again, his brows furrowed. "Yeah, I can still see you." Obviously, that wasn't the answer she was hoping to hear, and one that ushered forth an entirely new set of questions. This entity, the lich, could contain her to the degree that it might even limit her abilities?
For a beat, the trepidation such a revelation brought felt akin to ice trickling down John's spine. Perhaps he wasn't in possession of any sort of powers, yet he could imagine what being stripped of them this way might feel like; no wonder Lorelai had balked at the notion of encountering this being the way she had the other day at the coffee shop. Although he needed her help to ensure that no one else lost their lives to the lich's machinations, he couldn't stop a singular notion from practically ringing in his ears: maybe, in spite of that, this was a mistake. And John knew that if anything at all happened to her, if anything hurt her, he would never forgive himself.
Still, he couldn't dwell on that right now. He couldn't, he couldn't, he couldn't. That would damper his ability to think properly, and there was little John loathed more than being useless. Thus, at the suggestion Lorelai followed with, he allowed a swift nod of his head. "Power always has its limits." Even if the lich could ensnare them in the church's sanctuary, that didn't negate the possibility that finding their way into another area of the chapel might change that.
He was just in the midst of pulling aside a heavy rug to ensure there wasn't some sort of door hidden in the floor beneath when the sound of creaking hinges drew his attention. One of the doors she had tried opened, with nothing but inky darkness concealing wherever it may lead. "Good job." Pulling his small flashlight from his inner jacket pocket, he flicked it on to reveal a crumbling staircase snaking down into further blackness.
Then, John offered her his hand. "I'll go first, and this way, we'll make sure we stay together no matter what's down there." For the first time since the front doors remained barred, a wry grin rose briefly to his lips. "Which I'm hoping includes an exit. And maybe after we walk out of here, you'll let me take you out again. No lich or abandoned church included, I promise."

Lorelai swallowed thinking over the words. The introspection, the admitting of one’s confusion in faith. ❝ I think if God is speaking…it’s in a language that one else understands,” ❞ she answers glancing back at the person.
There’s a moment of silence, a pause as she tries to muster her feelings, and visions, into words. ❝ Do you ever get this feeling, that there are subtle signs, synchronicities…moments when the wind blows or something odd crosses your path and it triggers something. Like a response or a memory and it leads you down a whole other path you didn’t expect to take? ❞ she asked looking away and nodding. ❝ I think that’s part of their language, ❞ she voiced.
Stan tilts his head to the side with a thoughtful look on his face "I was going to do something boring like accounting for a living but something about this place just turned my head right around about the whole thing so I guess that you're right about that. I would be an accountant and sitting behind a desk right now if not for that little feeling that this place was more home than that was."
He then looks out over the forest and nods his head "Maybe it was God talking to me that made me go this track but I felt like I could help people more being a park ranger than doing anything else and that's really what I wanted to do in the first place." Stan looks back at the other "So have you ever had one of those little feelings that made your whole life turn on a dime?"

@spirit-x-ing sent: Pops head into the cabin. ❝ Hey, Lil~~~~!❞ she sings out. ❝Are you here?!❞ she asks. ❝I went down south and they said you were up here on vacation or something. I brought you a cake to thank you for lending me that demon buddy of yours!❞ she called out before floating all the way inside, holding a cute cake in her hands. Her head and eyes wandered looking around the cabin for any sign of her highness.
“You brought a cake,” Lilith repeated, appearing behind Lorelai in the barest hint of a chilling breeze and the faintest smell of sulphur. She peered at the gift curiously, though more in consideration than judgement, before nodding her approval.
“And it’s not exactly a vacation, but a rather a...change of environment,” she explained, taking the cake from Lorelai’s hands as she spoke. There was still work to do, just as much as usual, but though she didn’t often deign to admit it out loud, here, in this realm was a more...conducive work space. Pandemonium was full of whining demons and problematic coups that were more than a little distracting.
“And how did it work out?” She asked, conjuring a knife in order to slice into the cake. “Did you find the information you needed? Or is this cake really for commiseration?”

Lorelai was, understandably, lost for words. Generally speaking even amongst witches, celestial blood was a rare occurrence, and it was rarer still for those who believed their families entirely normal. Something which Lorelai, until recently, had been utterly convinced of. Yet it seemed her family secrets went far deeper than cult behaviour and a warlock brother.
And it was something which Lilith distinctly disliked the taste of.
"If you'd ever actually read a bible, or crossed celestial paths before, you'd know that angels, as a general rule, aren't nice. Lucifer wasn't banished for being cruel or violent." No, he had been banished for challenging the status quo, for fighting back against a....problematic hierarchy. The irony was that he had gone on to create his own.
"Even if the celestial soul inside him did have control of both his thoughts and his actions, it isn't likely it would have turned his attention to your absence or your well-being," Lilith admitted honestly. "Celestials tend to be single-minded, their focus only on their own personal goals, with no real concern of who else it might...negatively affect." And yet so many of the mortals idolised them, like the ignorant fools they were.
"However," Lilith continued, "I don't believe your brother is aware of what resides inside him, what his true nature actually is." It was possible she was wrong, but the way the celestial energy ran through his veins suggested an element of dormancy. However, the same could not be said for the rest of Lorelai's family, particularly when she spoke of memories of secret meetings and...suspected secrets.
"Have you thought that perhaps the reason your family seemed to...set you aside, that they didn't appear to care that you were gone, might be perhaps because they're the cause of your brother's...celestial nature?" Lilith asked. "That the strangeness you remember ties back to your brother and his...assumed destiny."
Lilith had an obvious face of disgust and distrust as a minor demon came in to quickly magic the mess. Lorelai herself was about to take a step closer before Lilith put a stop to the cleaning with an aura of authority. She held her hand out stopping the demon in place. Lorelai felt the energy before her and stopped as well. She bit her lower lip as she eyed Lilith nervously.
Cermoniously as she was elegant, Lilith magic the spilled blood into a sphere as the demon had scurried away. Lorelai swallowed confused as she stared at the blood. Its amorphous liquid danced between them as she stared with awe. Was she going to save it for another time, put it back in the goblet? Though the question was clearly answered when the blood started to separate and evaporate into nothingness. Lorelai stepped back leaning a bit away. It was a powerful feat that made her a bit weary. A reminder that Lilith could possibly manipulate her physical being with blood alone.
Lorelai took a deep breath. ❝What was —❞ she started but Lilith started talking once more. She calmed as she listened. ❝Oh,❞ Lorelai replied at first before thinking about it more. ❝Wait what?❞ she asked confusedly. Warlock / magic user, she was expecting, clearly a given. Relative possibly brother, she wasn't so sure. Though a celestial, possibly a Fallen Angel. Nope.
Lorelai shook her head to the side in blatant denial. ❝No...❞ she said. ❝I mean....❞ she stopped her mind was racing with questions before going blank. ❝Puhhh,❞ she blew out overwhelmed. She turned and slapped her thighs with her hands. ❝I....❞ she was at a loss for words before she turned and sat down on a step.
She stared quietly for a while trying to process one thought at a time. ❝You know...you'd think he'd be a nicer person if he was actually part angel... you know,❞ she rasped. Her emotions were getting the best of her now. ❝Or remotely cared about where they took his little sister, never thought to question if she was alive,❞ she stated. ❝Why am I surprised, right? Probably was just happy to be an only child,❞ she stated. She was quiet for a moment.
❝My grandmother not caring, that was expected. My mother... you'd think she would have at least tried to search for me and my brother...psh...who cares, right,❞ she said accepting the fact that he was considered fallen for a reason. Her eyes watered a bit as she looked down and swallowed the bitter information she just received. ❝You think he knows what he is?❞ Lorelai rasped in question as she looked up at Lilith.

@spirit-x-ing - [plotted]
Lee's travels had taken him somewhere he had been before. Not for the sake of his crusade, he had already focused on his crusade the last time he visited the area. This time he was just visiting because he had enjoyed the area the first time he visited and was on a break from his crusade. He hadn't been walking through the area long before he spotted something that made a smile appear on his face. More like someone.
The man had spotted someone he had met in the past unexpectedly and was quite surprised, but pleasantly surprised. The smile on Lee's features widened as he then approached them without hesitation and pulled them into his embrace for a hug, arms wrapping around their waist as he lifted them into the air out of pure excitement.
"Hey girl! How have you been?! This is a pleasant surprise! Been too long!" He said with complete excitement as he gave her a gentle squeeze as they hugged.

The micahverse situation is horrible. Spirit X harassed Micah even after they apologized multiple times till Micah ended up drawing NINE art pieces for them. I get Micah shouldn’t have been petty, but spirit was just as petty and gross imo for harassing a minor like that.
I want to reiterate that as of May 2022 SpiritX was a minor and so it is possible that they are still a minor but I cannot prove their exact age.
Still overkill though. SpiritX took a molehill and made it into a volcano.

John couldn’t tell if Lorelai had heard him or not. Standing beneath the church roof as he was now, everything outside sounded far more distant than he felt it should. Perhaps in another circumstance, he would have been tempted to chalk it up to feeling unsettled by the odd atmosphere of the entire place, yet when he aligned it with everything else — ? Presuming anything of that sort to be imaginary struck John as immensely foolish.
Before he could walk the short distance to the door to check for her outside, she was there. The sudden pleasure he garnered just at the sight of her wasn’t unusual anymore, but it somehow still surprised him; it was much like her, in that way.
“Nothing concrete yet, just a lot of little things that’ll add up to something else. Or I hope they will, anyway.”
With Lorelai’s hands on his shoulders and the worry etched across her pretty face, John couldn’t quite help himself from brushing some of her dark hair back behind her ear. “There’s an indent carved into one of the tombstones for a key that matches the one on the other grave we found. I’d brought the key I made from before, that’s how I got inside.” Pressing his lips together, he paused for a short moment, then continued, “It just feels weird in here. And I’m kinda regretting that I dragged you into it.” Maybe the strange aura surrounding them within the chapel walls was nothing, yet he couldn’t shake the trepidation that it might be something — and if it was, and it affected her, that was an outcome he couldn’t abide. “D’you think this might be dangerous? Not the lich, I mean whatever’s going on inside right now.”
That was when John’s other hand rose to brush against her waist, a slight tension in his fingertips. He couldn’t forget how Lorelai had responded when confronted with the possibility that this investigation might revolve around such an undead being, nor could he neglect the silent promise he had made to himself to protect her. “I don’t want anything to hurt you. It’s all right if it’s me, but I don’t want it to be you.”

@spirit-x-ing asked ❛ don’t be afraid. dying is much easier than living. ❜ ( muse -> mun's choice )
Michael looks at her and smiles softly "I doubt that anyone ever thought that dying was easier than living when they were the one's doing the dying." He makes a gesture with one of his hands and the doors behind them close with a thunk and the click of the lock "Who are you and what are you doing in my office? I didn't call for anyone to talk philosophy with today or any other day since it's one of the most boring subjects the I have ever had the displeasure of coming across."

"Well, i think it's a good movie even though i've never..." A gruesome scene comes on the tv and he makes a face of disgust "....watched it before." Gabriel looks out the window and breaths out his nose until the sickness from watching that scene lasted. "You ever heard of Alien? Maybe we could watch that instead because this movie is now making me sick." He tilts his head to the side with a cocked eyebrow. You don't see much blood and you only get to see the alien in the last of the movie."
@talesfromahs "Are you going to hide in my shoulder the whole time? or actually watch the movie?"
❝I'm going to watch it,❞ she defended before looking away bitterly. ❝Eh... okay maybe not... I'm not so big a fan of gore,❞ she admitted. ❝Something about....innards that is just so...real, solid, grounded,❞ she tried to explain.
