Worldwide Researchers Announce Their Constructive Verdict On Ayahuasca
In the rainforest of South America, the indigenous people from numerous tribes have long used ayahuasca (a hallucinogenic drug derived from a vine) to treat various ailments.
The drug is typically mixed with chacruna (a type of root) and its effects vary among different people. Some report lucid dreams while others may experience intense hallucinations along with a feeling of familiarity with their surroundings. Users report having an increased understanding of their thoughts, feelings and emotions.
Now, groups of individuals from the U.S., Canada and Europe who have experience with the drug are helping to spread word about its therapeutic uses in conjunction with conventional Western medicine.
Ayahuasca is also known as yagé, hoasca and yage. It is often referred to as a sacrament.
In the U.S., several universities have offered training on the use of ayahuasca, including the University of South Florida, where students learn how to prepare and administer the medicine while completing 400 hours of training.
While there are risks associated with the drug (seizures, gastrointestinal problems), many people say that they feel it is worth it to try since it helps with depression and anxiety. It is also used to treat addictions and even PTSD.
Roger Rumrrill, founder of the Oriollo Center, said that after taking ayahuasca he was able to “make peace with his father who had been brutally murdered before his very eyes when he was only 9 years old.”
A small Canadian study from 2007 showed that ayahuasca could help treat alcohol addiction. In the study, six people with alcohol dependence who took ayahuasca showed reduced cravings for beer one week after treatment.
"The difference was significant, observable," said Dr. Draulio Barros de Andreis, the study’s lead author and a psychiatry professor at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. "It's not just a matter of saying the person didn't drink; they really had a reduction in desire. That's something that really impressed us."
If you are looking for Ayahuasca Perth Australia retreats, then there are some very good centers for Australia residents and worldwide people irrespective of caste and creed. As part of the retreat program, there are ayahuasca ceremonies, yoga, workshops for spiritual development, group sharing consolidation, and one-on-one spiritual guidance if needed. If you research online, you will find a reputable website offering good information on Ayahuasca Perth Australia  retreat.

You choose what is at the center of your circle of existence. If you don’t choose consciously, then you will automatically download the status quo. Your actions while appearing to be independent and free are often actually a perpetuation of all of the suffering of the past. Since most of the patterns we have are held deeply within the subconscious mind no superficial solution makes a substance of change. This is why so much of the work of positive thinking and positive affirmations seems to fall short. While you may feel relief for a period of time, the core nucleus around which your being is centered is still infected with the virus of the stays quo. Unless there is a cure that is directed to the very center of your being, periods of relief will not be full remission. Yoga and the awakening of the spiritual path are a full-fledged revolution of the mind. I’m forced to conclude that radfems who advocate gender separatism have never actually lived it for any amount of time longer than it takes to go to the bathroom or get dressed in a locker room.
I used to be a practicing Muslim. Mosques are almost all gender separated. I’ve never actually been to a mosque that wasn’t and even the most liberal one I went to that didn’t have actual solid barriers up for meals and had mixed gender festivals still had separation for almost everything else. I know there’s some in recent years with female Imams and no separation and I know there’s a Muslim LGBT summer retreat that has no separation but I’ve never gone.
And, don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the separation there. Most of the women I know either do or are neutral about it. I’ve even seen women advocate for more separation or say they’re going to start wearing niqab unless it’s made so that no men can even glimpse them from afar. But here’s the thing...None of these women are living this 24/7. This is in western mosques. So the mosque is a refreshing break from the rest of life. Not something that they’re wanting in every aspect of life.
Let me fill you in on what happens in gender separation:
- Husbands and wives cannot pray side by side at mosques. Mothers cannot pray beside their sons and Fathers cannot pray beside their daughters. I’ve never seen children over the age of about 5 with their opposite sex parent in the prayer area and not older than maybe 10 for meals. At home, the women stand behind the men who lead prayer. But at mosques you’re behind a partition at a minimum and likely in entirely separate rooms. Sometimes you can only watch on a monitor and hear through a speaker.
- Spouses and even parents can’t contact each other unless they’ve got their phones on them and on sound or vibrate which isn’t always a thing at events and especially not during prayers. I’ve seen fathers standing at the tiny window of space in the barricade trying to wave and get their wife’s attention because their son needs something out of the car and she’s got the keys, needs to run home, needs something from mom, etc but his wife didn’t see him and no one will speak to him because he’s a man and he’d face backlash if he just walked over to find his wife. I’ve seen women doing the same thing trying to contact their husbands.
- If you’re bringing a guest to the mosque that is the opposite sex, you can’t go with them to their area. So if a son converts and decides to invite his mother or sister to learn more about Islam, then she’s is going to have to go stay fully separate from him in a room full of strangers. If she doesn’t speak Arabic, she’s going to be very lost.
- Families cannot eat meals side by side in mosques or the community centers commonly attached to them for events/holidays. Ramadan dinners (iftars) are a big damn deal and families cannot share them if they’re attending the community dinners at Mosques. They have to choose between family and community.
- Meals are stupid wasteful too because there has to be 2 of everything. 2 buffets, 2 dessert tables, 2 seating areas (sometimes 2 rooms even), etc. If you can’t provide two of everything, men and women have to be fully separate when going through the lines which takes up so much extra time. Regarding the wastefulness? You got a giant expensive decorated cake for Eid? Cool. Now you gotta pay for 2 of them because you can’t just cut a pretty cake with writing on it in half and carry the other half to a separate room. You gotta make all your dishes twice over with separate serving dishes instead of just making one big one and sharing it. You gotta order pizza (or whatever delivered food) in even numbers instead of just ordering odd numbers and sharing it. Towards the end of meals, I’ll see people going around and combining the dishes to bring more to the sex that has run out of something or to prepare take out boxes. And there’s almost always take out boxes because there’s almost always so much extra food that people take home whole other meals.
- Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha are the two Islamic holidays....and families can’t pray and eat together for them at the mosque. Imagine if you couldn’t watch your own child open Christmas presents because you were their mother and your child was a 15 year old boy. There’s literally only TWO EIDS and if you celebrate them at the mosque, then you do it without the members of your family who aren’t the same sex.
- Wedding receptions are often gender separated. This means a husband and wife can’t even celebrate their own wedding together. The wedding itself will almost always be separated as well though you’ll be in the same room for that of course and obviously the couple is together when signing the Nikkah. But they’ve got to separate for the reception.
- Non school classes (I never went to an Islamic school and can’t speak for that but I know the smaller one attached to my Florida mosque had mixed classes due to being so small. The graduating class there in my year was like 7 people.) and sports are separated. This means if there’s not enough demand for EACH SEPARATE CLASS then one sex won’t have a class. Men almost always get more classes and sports because a lot of them don’t have enough interest only among women for women to have one. At one mosque I used to go to women got ONE SPORT NIGHT A WEEK because that was the only night they could drum up enough interest and get enough women to show up to shut down the community center to men to all men and boys. Men got the other six nights. ICLR, my prefered of the local mosques, actually had TWO WHOLE YOGA CLASSES FOR WOMEN but they couldn’t maintain enough interest in them. If you could mix men and women, you’d have enough attendance for almost any sport or class you want. But without mixing, the smaller attendance events get cut. Unlike with men, there’s no rule in Islam that says women actually have to go to the mosque ever if they don’t want to. So the result of this is that men wind up more involved in the community there.
And finally...
- Western dating is...not really a thing. It’s changed more with dating sites and tinder and the like. But a lot of marriages (especially first marriages) are still worked out through a glorified game of Telephone. Here’s how it goes... - A person glimpses someone of the opposite sex they decide is physically attractive from what they can see of them (modesty is a big thing in Islam for men and women). They have most likely never spoken to this person except maybe basic greetings in passing and might not even know their name because of the separation. So you’ve got nothing more than “I think they’re physically attractive” to decide if you want to build a lifelong relationship with this person. - They go to their opposite sex sibling (if they have one), a close friend’s opposite sex sibling (if they have one, and if their friend if on board with chaperoning the conversation), or their opposite sex parent (if they have one who is also Muslim, alive, around, and agreeing with their pick) and say “Hey, so I saw this person who I think is attractive. I’d like to get to know them and see if they’re interested in marriage” - That opposite sex person goes to the person deemed attractive and asks if they would be interested in getting to know the original person with the intent of marriage if everything works out. The answer is largely gonna depend on “do I feel like getting married at this point in time” and “are they physically attractive?” because, again, that’s all you get to know about them when you are separated - If yes, then families get together and work out chaperoned public dates. If you’re like me and you don’t have a family then you will likely either not get married in the mosque community or you will have to find a family to adopt you. Not literally, of course. Just in a parent friend kind of way. I had a husband and wife kind of adopt me like that because their little daughter decided I was her sister now. They told me if I ever wanted to get married to let them know and they’d find me a good spouse.
Now. All this assumes that radfems gender separatists aren’t just lesbians who are advocating for heterosexuality and bisexuality to be abolished from humanity. But we all know that won’t happen so let’s not entertain idiocy. And of course this is just mosque things and not all of life. And yet there’s already problems with it. Especially in the dating thing. But also...if I need spiritual guidance from the Imam? I gotta go find his wife. If I need to discuss something like renting the community center or finances with the mosque board? Gotta go hope they didn’t gender segregate that too or else I gotta go find the brother I don’t have.
Story: When I was 18, my (non muslim) grandparents were being abusive and my phone had gotten wet and broken. So a woman from the mosque wanted to use mosque charity funds to get me a phone to they could keep in contact with me and I could call them for help if I needed it. She had to call up her husband to drive back out to the mosque and talk to the Imam because the woman in the mosque’s board (Yes, only one. Mosque male population vastly outnumbers the female population. The one was specifically there to counter the separation so women didn’t have to talk to men to communicate with the board) was out of town. Because, of all people, the imam ESPECIALLY couldn't be seen violating the gender separation and especially not with so young and so unmarried a woman as me. So what should have been a 15 minute “can I fill out this form for these funds?” turned into over an hour because her husband had to find someone to wait at home for their kid who was on the way home from school.
In short. Gender separation can be fine when it’s a short time and not strictly enforced. Women only spaces are a great concept though measures should be taken for things like emergencies. But asking the world or even a whole individual society to be like that? Oh hell no. That’s not how societies were meant to be. And if you’re out here advocating it then I’m honestly forced to conclude you’re just talking out of your ass, are reacting based purely on emotion with no logic, and that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Backlist Bulletin #7: TV Sutras
Catching the zeal for Dodie Bellamy’s The TV Sutras was slow at first, and then total. I grazed tentatively through the first half of the book, which is made up of 78 sutras, or aphorisms of received spiritual knowledge. In the preceding note, “The Source of the Transmission,” Bellamy claims that her process was not an attempt at “irony, cleverness or perfection — or art. The TV Sutras are totally in-the-moment sincere, even if that sincerity makes me cringe afterwards” (14). The text challenged my modes of reading; the sutras aren’t poems, but I wasn’t sure that I should internalize them as honest advice. The received knowledge, after all, was transmitted via television broadcast and written into the form of an ancient Indian scripture. In an interview with David Buuck, Bellamy cites Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, a book of aphorisms on the practice and theory of yoga, as the base for her form, and a bad therapist who recommended yoga and meditation at home as a catalyst.
For each day of her 78-day sutra practice, Bellamy includes both a divinely inspired soundbite and its human-filtered interpretation. Both parts reach into their own well of images: for the sutras, a broader cultural subconscious as refracted through the commercials and melodramas of daytime television; for the commentaries, the store of spiritual language within Bellamy herself:
#16
Who says you have to have 12 periods a year on the pill.
Montage of young women repeating, “Who says.”
COMMENTARY
Each of us progresses, unfolds at our own speed. There is no set route. Acknowledge and follow your own rhythm. Trust your own experience/authority over societal expectations/programmatic doctrine.
— p.32
The commentary reflects central concerns of the book: how subjective experience is located in time, how spiritual authority is conferred, what boundary we can possibly draw between self and culture. In the essay that follows, “Cultured,” Bellamy unwinds the spiritual autobiography that formed the conduit to these sutras — in particular, she discusses her ten years as a member of a New Age cult. Dodie as narrator recounts events in a chatty, semi-fictionalized, often otherworldly manner, laced with fantasy.
Bellamy grabs hold of pieces of memory, allowing them to glisten with the sense of bliss found in her spiritual devotion. On a trip to Jacksonville, Florida, for a cult convention — Dodie’s first trip out of the midwest — she describes a potted plant: “a series of waxy green banana peels stacked one inside the other, and from the center pokes a trumpet of magenta, too intensely magenta for this world, its ‘petals’ sharply pointed — like razors — the incandescent dentate of an alien vagina” (111). Images of “other realms” and archetypal spiritual authority are superimposed over her young adult life. Delusion and euphoria bounce off of each other: “With my Teacher/sixth initiate boyfriend, high in the air, surrounded by treetops and light, life from then on would be one long spiritual retreat; I’d be like one of those ancient naked yogis who lives on a platform on stilts, wooden fence all around to hide his enlightened cock and balls as he waves to his devotees” (136). If the first section of the book is an even-paced, methodical, and procedural sequence, the second part is an unfurling, spiraling, high-entropy revelation. It is delicious prose, like listening to someone you love gossip. I eat it up and I’ll believe anything she says.
Throughout “Cultured,” memories work like sutras, accessed as the smallest possible unit that holds itself together, “terse, easily memorized, but […] intended to be expanded and explained” (207). Bellamy writes, “I’m reminded of the way that anyone from my past is reduced to a discrete set of images — and one fragment will emerge” (207). Memory is encountered from a new vantage point, again and again.
*
I want to convince everyone I know to read this book. If I told everyone that it was about cults, charisma, abuse of power, desire, sex, and bliss, everyone would read it. I put my head down when cultists in the subway station offer me literature, but I want to know who they are and what their lives are like. Sometimes they look at you with gentle ease spread across their faces, sometimes alarming concern for your soul. I remember being a Christian mega-church attending pre-teen filled with desire to bring everyone into the envelope of love I’d found in my bible study group. Years later, I still answer the door and talk to the evangelists about the Lord for too long, before my roommate makes me politely move on with a fake obligation. Faith — even others’ faith — can be so bright. I know better.
In the beginning of “Cultured,” Dodie is in a nail salon where Oprah is playing in the background, airing an investigative montage on Tony Alamo, an apocalyptic cult leader and sexual abuser. Last month, I watched a new documentary on Bikram Yoga in which toned and optimistic women gleefully enmesh themselves into a pyramid scheme/fitness club, under a verbally and sexually abusive leader. Like in Dodie’s cult, where a plagiarism scandal rocks the foundations of their leader’s authority, the appropriation of Eastern spiritual traditions into an American profit machine is foundational. The drama of the cult is consumable because it allows us to see an intensification of commonplace power dynamics, made into something recognizably perverse.
*
In Barf Manifesto (UDP, 2010), Bellamy celebrates writing that moves through the body and makes a mess, through a discussion of Eileen Myles’ essay “Everyday Barf.” Of this aesthetic, Bellamy writes:
The Barf is an upheaval, born of our hangover from imbibing too much Western Civ. The Barf is reflective, each delivery calls forth a framing, the Barf is expansive as the Blob, swallowing and recontextualizing, spreading out and engorging. Its logic is associative, it proceeds by chords rather than single, discrete notes. Hierarchies jumble in the thrill, in the imperatives of purge.
— p. 32
“Cultured” unfolds in this logic. After Bellamy disentangles herself from the cult, the same patterns resurface in different forms — in her entry into an experimental writing scene in San Francisco of the 1980s, specifically the “cult of New Narrative” to which she belonged, in the endless options for spiritual healing she engages in, in the pyramid scheme of teaching creative writing professionally. In this jumble, the draw of a charismatic spiritual leader who makes it all cohere is strong. But those figures are counterbalanced by moments of meditative clarity, the internal authority of Bellamy’s “bullshit meter,” her perception. Each paragraph delves into one of these modes, building on one another until they reach a crescendo. As she remembers sitting in a park with her girlfriend in Bloomington, Indiana, Bellamy writes, “No one told me that moving closer into what I perceived on a daily basis, the swingness of the swing, was the key to spiritual writing.” (230)
Towards the end of the essay, the “I” becomes increasingly destabilized, moving fluidly between the perspective of Dodie and a charismatic, frenetic guru alter-ego. The TV Sutras creates fertile ground for a curious, shifting perspective, allowing both writer and reader to enact the roles of spiritual leader and acolyte. As Bellamy writes, “The sutra process is the opposite of accepting things as they are, highlighting instead the instability of knowing.” (207)

This week I am back in the south Florida area, to live paint at a couple of soulful events organized by @medicine_movement_ . So I am currently at a shamanic medicine Retreat, doing my humble service by being in my creative flow. The retreat Center is beautiful, full of trees and has peacocks walking around. My Peruvian healer @herbert_quinteros is up here, so it’s my bi-annual visit to the spirit doctor, he always can see what’s off in my inner vibrational composition and knows how to recalibrate it (so grateful for that 🙏). Yesterday, @themetanoist and me started with a very potent Kambo frog ceremony, with @tribuspirit , that was an extra deep purge, cause I feel it tag-teamed with the remains of the buffo toad left in my system. Then the sacred medicine ceremony at nighttime was beautiful too. I didn’t drink much, as I’m still integrating the toad medicine, but the Sacred Mother eventually came for a little vibrational hug and a reminder of my greater connection with the universe, God, my tribe, you, etc. I didn’t need to purge, kinda feel like I’ve mostly found my peace and acceptance and don’t have to keep fighting those aspects of myself I don’t prefer. So the handful of ceremonies I do a year can now be a for spiritual communion and continued expansion. I wanted to remind you, just in case you’re interested in these kinds of healing, that I will be having my yearly “Art and Medicine” retreat at @katari.ayahuasca.center with @herbert_quinteros this December. Meet: Naomi Campagne
Tumblr media
NAOMI CAMPAGNE is an actress, writer, director, director of photography (DP), and film editor. ([email protected]
Catholic Artist Connection (CAC): What brought you to NYC, and where did you come from?
Naomi Campagne (NC): I moved from Northwest Florida to attend the Tisch School of the Arts Undergraduate Drama Program at New York University four years ago (just graduated this past May!).
CAC: How do understand your vocation as a Catholic artist? What do you see as your personal mission as a Catholic working in the arts?
NC: I’m learning more and more how to become a Catholic artist. Meaning, if my life is centered on Christ—how I live, what I do, how I speak, etc.—and I begin my work by first offering everything up to Him, trusting in Him, and allowing Him to guide me, then I will find myself a Catholic artist. As I’m sure I will be doing for the rest of my life, I’m learning how to take these beautiful passions God has placed in my heart and offer everything I do with them as a prayer to Jesus. Knowing that my intention is to bring greater glory to God, I am a Catholic Artist.
CAC: Where in NYC do you regularly find spiritual fulfillment?
NC: Having only graduated in May, I’m still exploring the different communities offered by groups like CatholicNYC and the Frassati Fellowship of NYC. I’ve gone to many different, singular events posted through those groups, such as Theology on Tap, Catholic Underground, Young Adult Masses/Socials, hiking, etc.
However, the rock of my spiritual life has stemmed from the Catholic Center at NYU. Even after graduating, I still attend Daily Mass (5:15pm Monday-Friday), Adoration/Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (4pm-5pm Mon-Fri), and Confession (4pm-5pm Mon-Fri)—anyone is able to attend 😊 The Center has been blessed with incredible Chaplains: Fr. John Baptist Hoang, O.P. (current) and the previous, Fr. Sebastian White, O.P. (who just recently transitioned to St. Vincent Ferrer’s and will be an editor for the Magnificat). The Center also hosts a variety of lectures open to the public, including lectures from the Thomistic Institute. The Young Professionals Group (GradLaw) is also held at the Center.
The Catholic Center is associated with St. Joseph’s in Greenwich Village, which is where I’ve become a parishioner—even though I live in Brooklyn. For me, it was easy to get swept up in the many different, beautiful Catholic Churches that offer Masses all around and at a variety of times, but I’d recommend finding a parish where you actually feel community. That’s one of the parts of coming from a small town I miss the most: seeing families and actually knowing their names.
CAC: Where in NYC do you regularly find artistic fulfillment?
NC: Though NYC has some crazy neat features, I am not enamored by it…at all. To keep myself here (NYC has loads of artistic opportunities), I seek out the beauty that leads me to God: Catholic churches and nature. With one of my good, good friends, I’ve begun to go on mini pilgrimages around Manhattan to visit/attend Mass at different Churches. I also try to get out of the City to hike and find peace in proper silence as much as possible. These activities inspire me, keep me focused and remind me of why I am pursuing the arts in the first place.
CAC: How have you found or built community as a Catholic artist living in NYC?
NC: I was fortunate enough to have had four years with other phenomenal Catholics, which includes other artists, at the Catholic Center. Investing in those friendships has led to a community of people I absolutely love. Good, good relationships take time. Go to events, don’t be afraid to meet new people, and invest in those friends. And by friends I don’t necessarily mean “Catholic Artists” friends, I just mean people you can find love in and give love to. Those friends have inspired and encouraged me more than any Excel spreadsheet of connections. Though, I must say that when you do happen to find practicing Catholics who are artists, praise God and introduce yourself!
CAC: What is your daily spiritual practice? And if you have a spiritual director, how did you find that person? If you go on retreats, where do you like to go?
NC: Silence and nature. When I can’t take a Metro-North train or get to Prospect Park to be silent in nature, I brew some coffee/tea, light a candle, find some oddly comfortable position in a chair or in my bedroom and read, journal, and/or pray.
Other than that, the more habitual practices are Daily Mass, Morning/Evening prayer (via the Magnificat or phone app iBreviary), and the Rosary.
Spiritual direction is great, but a wee bit tricky. At least for me it was. I just find it best to have a spiritual director who genuinely has the time to talk with you and whose homilies/disposition/teaching/leading etc. you really enjoy. That means time. I prayed and prayed for a spiritual director, talked to a few different people (priests and women religious) who I had a solid relationship with and then it was decided naturally from there.
CAC: What is your daily artistic practice?
NC: As of now, I’m focused on keeping up with the training I received at school. I studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute (part of Tisch’s curriculum), so I go over speech/voice work, movement work, technique, dance, script analysis, etc. by myself. I just have to keep disciplined. Doing a few things everyday directed towards my career is a necessity. It can be too easy to let weeks slip by without investing in one’s craft.
CAC: But seriously, how do you make a living in NYC?
NC: So, you’ll have to take this answer with a hefty serving of salt because I have just begun the journey of making a living while pursuing the arts. What I have found is that I benefited from finding a side job/survival job that feeds me--literally and artistically. From your temperament, try and find a job(s) that you genuinely enjoy and won’t completely drain you of joy. Maybe you really do love fashion and don’t mind working in a clothing store, or food service and don’t mind to waitress. For me, I really wanted to be doing something that allowed me to be creative and give others what I’ve learned in the form of teaching. I am on the pursuit of doing just so…check-in with me in about a year and we’ll see how that’s going.
CAC: What other practical resources would you recommend to a Catholic artist living in NYC?
NC: The Drama Book Shop 250 W 40th St.
Irving Farm Coffee Roasters ***71 Irving Place
The Frick Museum
CAC: What are your top 3 pieces of advice for Catholic artists moving to NYC?
NC: 1)     Make time for prayer—the pace of NYC can easily make days go by in a blur, but make sure to have time in prayer with Jesus to center yourself.
2)     Keep your eyes on what really matters (ahem, Jesus and getting to Heaven). The idea of success can drive us mad, but He wants you to know you’re loved not based on “success” but the fact that you’re His son or daughter—rest in that.
3)     Be open to wherever you’re being led/called to, even if it’s not what you planned.

September 2, 2018 Creative Fiction Storytelling by Stella Carrier
Creative Fiction Storytelling Idea for me To try by September 2, 2018 andor sooner by Stella Carrier September 2, 2018 Creative Fiction Storytelling by Stella Carrier It is the year 2093 and I Lucas Haas am speaking from an afterlife world that is a celestial part of Canada though I have the freedom to choose where to reside even the type of celestial worlds that I have found myself as of 52 days ago. I am told that I easily resemble the lead singer of Saving Abel in the Addicted music video. I am easily allowed to communicate with people I have known in my earth life. However, I have discovered that the reason why sometimes some earth people try to contact friends andor family and it takes a while to reach them has little to do with how much they mutually miss their family members  and more because of how much busier things become in their afterlife. For instance, I only had 2 family members besides my spouse and 8 friends who I was close to who were there for me during my earth life through both my challenging and good times. However I was pleasantly surprised to discover a group of over 530 male and female spirits greeting me less than 10 minutes after I transitioned from my earth life to the heavenly realms that I now reside in. I am going to be learning from 3 of my celestial spirit guides in a pink mountain school how to help earth based spirits tap into and strengthen their intuition both in their sleeptime dreams and in their waking life. I am also going to preside over mystery schools both being open up on earth and here in the celestial realms that teach many male and female spirits how to integrate their storytelling passions both with their sleeptime dreams and connections with their higher selves/celestial spirit allies and imagining how their lives would be in heaven and how that pertains to their akashic records, opening up to their imagination abilities while integrating the energy of both critics and allies into building them into a wiser and more powerful being, and utilizing certain tools such as their favorite songs, music, books, interests etc. in helping them uncover some of the messages of their most creative and self confident selves that their souls are encouraging them to uncover. What Do I Mean By This; A 45 year old Married female working for the military who was a friend of mine unexpectedly played romantic matchmaker to a 48 year old military public affairs officer female and a male in the culinary industry. This military public affairs officer female  was also related to a  46 year old coworker that the 45 year old female was training and getting along with well. The 45 year old female was recently traveling to a heaven based replica world of Canada in her dreams at a writing university for some intuition research when she caught a female she knew in waking life from  entering her sleeptime dreams by trying to use the identity of two other females she knew in waking life. As her intuition and sleeptime dream celestial guide I asked her to avoid revenge on this female spirit and take it as a sign from her higher self that regardless of how she is publicly perceived that she is just needs to understand and be reminded that she is just as intelligent and capable of soaring to great success in her life just as the female spirit being sly with using other female identities. The 45 year old married female wanted to give this female a piece of her mind and confront her in her sleeptime dreams for even daring to enter what she considers the unbridled and unlimited freedom of her sleeptime worlds many which are heaven based and life on other happy worlds. I had to explain to the 45 year old female that she is going to be happier sooner and for the long term if she lets this female be regardless of how tempting it is to confront her because one of her spirit guides wanted to borrow this sly crafty female to remind the 45 year old female that regardless of how she is judged in waking life that she simply needs to continue to work on the growing of her genius abilities and intuition to increase them in waking life and pretty soon her efforts are going to positively pay of in spades, positive dividends within 11 years or less from now. The sly female was being crafty because she figured out that the female being on to her identity meant that other females who she did the same too would soon also see and notice what she did which would indirectly affect innocent males and females allied with this sly female. Additionally, the sly female intuitively realized that by targeting the 45 year old female that she unexpectedly opened the door for even prettier andor craftier/smarter rivals and females to enter/come in abundant numbers in both of their (the 45 year old married matchmaker female and the sly female)worlds (earth both professional and personal as well as sleeptime). The matchmaker female intuitively understands why this needs to be allowed to happen but the sly female needs more time to accept that memo. In order to heal that karma i showed the 45 year old matchmaker married female a special intuition school inside an orange and purple mountain that also integrates music into the lessons. I also intuitively gave both females a snapshot of how I lived the last year of my most recent earth lifetime in order to help them understand ways to be both a high functioning career person as well as a spiritual person who focuses on creating heaven on earth. I had extreme career success and excitement in my career life such as I was a food service employee who eventually became a cook and then a chef through extensively volunteering for 4 years. I volunteered to help cater food in California, England, Switzerland, Iceland, Germany, Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Canada, France, Italy, Hong Kong, Tokyo Japan, and Singapore. For instance in Virginia, a theater company decided to do a play based on the Give it To You music video by Jordan Knight at a theme park that opened in Virginia Beach Virginia by the year 2091. I was asked to both help set up a party and food for an after party towards the end of the play season-5 months after the play premiered where over 5000 people showed up. I was also part of over 160 men and women who helped to help set up catering and party festivities for over 43 leaders who decided to hold convention events across various parts of the U.S. for museums and libraries over a half mile wide opening across the U.S. complete with train subway stations that connected men and women across various states even rural areas that opened up more opportunities even for men and women who were still trying to save up for cars. In the year 2092, I also had the chance to cater dinners and parties on the side in various parts of Scandinavia as more theme parks and malls opened in this area from the months of July to December. The remaining months I would travel across America to help serve food to cast members and people of various films who were making movies based on universities and cooking across various parts of the U.S. More universities were being built with campgrounds featuring allowing over 5000 people in the warmer U.S. states and outside during the summer time. During the winter time andor in warmer states campgrounds that could hold up to ten thousand people would be built inside buildings either inside andor near malls with the option of camp goers renting aircraft looking trailer parks, traditional trailer parks, tents with inside air conditioning and heating, homes plus more types of campground instructions. The aircraft carrier looking trailer parks are at least a half mile wide and are cheaper than the others to deal with competition that also comes from private businesses in modest socio income neighborhoods who experienced a business boom from also starting campground businesses because of the number of businesses that also proliferated there. However, on a positive note demand for chefs, cooks, and food service employees went up in these communities as many campgoers wanted food cooked for them as they enjoy the camping experience and activities that have also proliferated in great numbers such as various writing, psychic development, even various other types of classes such as art appreciation and other types of classes pertaining to resources of the community and so much more. For instance, a campground in College Park Maryland that can hold up to 9000 people offers 525 different classes, a campground in Virginia Beach Virginia that can hold up to 11000 people offers up to 900 classes, and a newly build campground in Mclean Virginia near the Tysons Corner Center mall that can hold up to 8800 people offers 1000 different classes and 70 different activities such as storytelling retreats, cooking contest camps, and travel exhibition fair conventions retreats where countries from around the world feature virtual reality centers for campgoers-the Iceland, Canada, Washington State from the addition of a 2 mile museum, France, and Scotland from the addition of a 2 mile Harry Potter museum were among the popular campground centers just inside the camp. The campgrounds are often at least 5 miles long andor greater to allow campgoers to pay more for privacy. The things I can tell you from what I have seen would make multiple early 2000s R rated movies seem tame and even some of the scenes I have scene of two consenting adults engaged in certain acts across the campground also tame because of who they are. What Do I Mean by this before I conclude this session because one of my male celestial spirit guides has a book for me to look at pertaining to some of the culinary festivals and people I am to inspire as a male celestial spirit guide; Well, the last six months of my life I had the exciting opportunity to help set up a reenactment You Make Me Feel by Annagrace complete dance scene and all inside one of the campgrounds at a location within the U.S. I must keep discreet partially also because that same day the Bon Appetit music video by Katy Perry reenactment took place within the same camp and both events employed over 500 people and involved over 48 people in both reenactments. I had to go back to my car to get some money to try some food from a tree shaped eatery that opened within this particular camp during the intermission of Bon Appetit and You Make Me Feel when I saw a popular female celebrity hugging a tree in one of the more popular yet at the same time more private campground areas, it was less the hugging of the tree that was the shocking part, it was more the identity of the famous celebrity that I saw pressing himself up behind her and yes I looked away before I could see more because I had just seen him pictured with a 49 year old U.S. Navy Captain daughter of a popular U.S. Navy Master Chief  (E-9)less than 2 hours before as the wife of the famous celebrity male pressing himself against the celebrity female holding the tree. They were doing their renewal of vows at this camp having been successfully married for over 22 years. Granted her husband was not bound by the same rules as his wife because he is a well liked and popular civilian who works in the culinary industry. However, I preferred to mind my own business during my most recent earth lifetime after seeing this more than just because of my career reputation yet also for practical, intuitive, and wise reasons. Resources Storytelling Idea for me To try by September 2, 2018 andor soonerCreative fiction storytelling ideaA Chef andor Cook in the Afterlife shares the fun they had also catering dinners and parties on the sideThe year is 2142 and they are training to be a spirit guide to some employees in the culinary industry in the areas of Scandinavia for the first 6 months of the year January to June, and certain regions in America July to December. They main job involved culinary and their volunteering involved helping to cook andor create food for parties andor events.Other employees both within the culinary field and other areas were also inspired to develop their social skills. This cook, food service employee andor chef did the majority of work andor volunteering for parties andor events in their free time during much of their time in the U.S. However they also traveled to other parts of the world for their friends in the military and their federal government employee friendsThe chef cook andor food service employee also recalls connections from their earth life and how that influenced their afterlife. Some resources for me to considerhttps://charleston.eater.com/2018/8/1/17640158/chef-sean-brock-nashvillehttp://www.collegeparkgrill.com/menushttp://www.ign.com/articles/2018/08/23/the-last-ship-season-5-trailer resources inspired by my heavenly husband Rusty Ridler's part Austrian heritage https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/austrian-names.php songs for me Stella Carrier to keep in mind; Strange Love by Depeche Mode, Lovesong by the Cure, Something In the Way You Move by Ellie Goulding, Automatic Lover by Real McCoy

2/8/2021
Back from my second retreat at Mt. Rainier with the shadow walker clan yesterday. It’s now Monday evening and I’m asking, “Wait. What just happened?” Some learning, play, cold, wet weather, fire, laughter, exploration, river, forest, elk turds, hugs and discussion. And a good bit of processing. I’m so grateful for the feeling the intimacy shared and sense of community.
Key talking points were listening, questioning and the hero’s journey. What came up for me? The growing feeling of wanting to do this work. The sarcastic voice that didn’t want to take anything seriously constantly chiming in with a thought. I didn’t expect that. Another voice that couldn’t stop pushing its desire to cuddle with Chivito. The innocent child that listened intently and the adult that wanted to heal that child. The dreamer that couldn’t stop dreaming of traveling and learning from those that work with the land. I once read about a farm in Florida and it hasn’t forgotten.
I started connecting events in my life to steps on the Hero’s Journey. It was distracting as I tried to take in the information. It started to bring up memories of times I ran from the call (like binge eating junk food that wasn’t mine). Other times where I was deep, deep in it (I’m not sure when... maybe those times that were a “rough” patch...). And of mentors and friends along the way that reminded me I wasn’t alone even if I thought I was.
It makes me wonder... where am I currently in the cycle and can I be in two different places in the cycle at once? Are there multiple cycles happening at once? My place in the cycle can be confusing... am I running from the call or am I getting deep into the thick of it?
I really didn’t want to work today. Is that why I had the heavy feeling while checking my email? Or is it a greater issue? I don’t know, but I can’t help but wonder... is taking this job ignoring the call to travel/garden/learn or is it me diving deep into the thick of it? Could be it be both? It does feel like going deeper, because I’m feeling how I have less time/less freedom. I do want to overcome this fear... the full-time job that is challenging... for my skills, time management, bank account, etc.
- I need a solid morning routine. I feel depressed when I don’t get meditation and exercise in. - Do I want to start next Monday or March 1? It would be nice to transition and settle and just have a nice break w/o any work for a couple of weeks. Most likely I’ll be ready to work having had 2 weeks to not work. - I want to help Chivito and Tree of Totems. I want to work with people in the shadow guide way. - I also want to let go of commitments so I don’t feel spread too thing and can really give my energy to something. - I want a project at VC that is engaging (research, strategy, design--those types of things).
- I want a project outside of work. Gardening and/or something hands-on. - I want to save up. - I want to get the ‘lil RV. - I want to apprentice to the land through stewardship. - I want to connect to the land, be able to listen, be able to facilitate. - I want to live in harmony with the land. - I want to support others in living in harmony with the land.
- I want to move out of my pain body & into a centered way of being. I get that I will be in my pain body sometimes, but it feels like habit right now to react, jump into it and act from it.
- I want to speak up. I want to be heard. I want to be seen. I want to bloom and shine instead of hide in fear.
- It feels like too often I’ve adjusting and adapting to my environment. Depending on her mood or when she feels like playing/talk constantly apex. I’m tired of being around her mess. Being distracted by her mess. I want time where I can work or just be and not worry about being interrupted. I get really, really, really sick of hearing her talk during the day and night on that game. I wonder why she isn’t out working. I want her to get out of the house and leave me in piece some times.
- I want keep slowing down internally.
Recap:
-- Solid morning routine to start the day off right. -- Dedicated work space that’s quite, peaceful and free of almost all interruption. -- Social time, play, and fun hands-on project in the evenings. -- A kitchen I don’t have to constantly clean up. -- Quiet sleep. -- Outdoor adventures. -- Adventure buddies. -- Learn to facilitate: to innovate + to shadow guide. -- Time box what is work time & what is free time. -- Help people work through their shit so they can shine and contribute in the way that is meaningful to them. -- Design shelters for living. For reflection, for writing, for meditating, for sleeping, for cooking, for interaction, for expression, for connection. -- Design shelters that integrate with the land.
And me and the ex. Do I want to work on things with her?
It feels more like a matter of path. I want to travel and learn and mature into a sense of purpose and along with it--times of content and stillness. I want to share what I learn with others too. I hadn’t realized that till now, but I do. Of course I do! I don’t see P wanting to do all that. I see her working with animals... dogs & horses. But also staying in one place working on her garden. God, it’d be hard to let her go and especially when she finds someone else to be with. But I’d be really happy for her if she finds someone that can sleep next to her. And she could be my neighbor.
So I guess I can be ok still being in the same house. If I’m in Talya’s room, it would not be wise to call the bathroom, “Mine.” It will be shared. I do think it would be distracting if she’s in the bathroom during the day for long periods of time. I can get noise cancelling headphones and also a folding screen or curtain so I can’t see when she comes in and out to use the bathroom.
The light is so much nicer in Katelyn’s room, but there’s not a very good space for work. Dang reflective screens.
I see it as an opportunity for P to continue to get on her feet. Get a vehicle, get a local job (horses, co-op, her own doggy business). Get health insurance in WA. I see it as an opportunity for me to enjoy the summer in the PNW, finish the shadow guide training, not have to deal with a new location & get to stay in a quiet, peaceful town a while longer. Plus be super close to the beach, kayak or SUP, bike & hike. Hopefully meet new people & build some face to face relationships. And be close to Mom!
I do feel less at odds with joining VC, because I see an opportunity to bring shadow guiding to the business world.
I also feel that I will be unhappy if I don’t spend time with the nature learning that I want. On the other hand, if things go belly up with VC or I imagine just not doing it, I’d be sad temporarily, but it’d be a lot easier to let go of it over plants, soil, clay, rain and sunshine.
It feels much more like a relational journey versus transactional. Even though so many people have this knowledge, I too want to understand beyond the plant names. It’s about coming into and building MY relationship with the earth. And it’s about speaking what’s meaningful to me about earth and my relationship with it. It’s about being in harmony with, but also becoming one with it and myself. Feeling whole with where I am, what I do and what I speak. That does feel like a spiritual journey and transformation of who I want to mature into. Someone well spoken, earthly, able to empathize with many different people & connect with them also. Someone that understands nature and our place within it. Someone that communicates with and teaches others. Someone that re-builds the connection to the land. Someone that can inspire.
Man, when I allow myself to imagine this journey and its purpose, designing and building software feels a lot less important. Another task I could let go of... but maybe an opportunity will present itself through that nature learning or facilitation. I can be open to that.

How to face life’s challenges through the temple of the heart
by Khenpo Samdup
Many causes tug at our heart and call us to action. Recently we saw the gun violence in Florida and the way our youth are standing up for change, the constant political strife and children dying in Syria. In our personal lives, too, we struggle with challenges and ways to overcome them.
How do we change and become part of much-needed change?
The Dalai Lama echoed Pope Francis’s thoughts when he said, “There is no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple.”
To create change, we can take four steps:
1) Develop a deeper compassion
Compassion begins with awareness. To cultivate awareness, we must pause amid our nonstop activities to understand how life is changing around us through quiet moments or extended retreats.
There are diverse settings in which we can experience a quiet atmosphere. Individually, we can create those moments through meditation, contemplation, prayer and study. In a community, we can find calm at temples, churches, synagogues, mosques and secular centers.
When we pause, we can concentrate on our breath, deepen it and be calm. This allows us to access our feelings and open our hearts. A calm mind and open heart is more receptive to understanding the self and others, creating space for compassion.
2) Identify the action
Through a practice of contemplation, awareness and compassion, we can prepare ourselves to meet situations with clarity and conviction. We can then take meaningful action in our personal lives and in our communities.
A smile or a simple act of kindness can brighten someone's day. Or we can be part of an organization that is dedicated to doing good in the world.
3) Connect to the bigger world
We thrive when we come together as a community for a common cause. By collaborating with like-minded individuals and groups, we can create far-reaching change.
D.C.’s own, chef José Andrés, arrived in Puerto Rico last year after Hurricane Maria and began feeding people. He worked with local chefs and used local kitchens and supplies. Andres created something different in very difficult circumstances — he created a community. With more hands, he was able to reach many more victims, and increase the impact of his work.
4) Commit to a path of action and be the vehicle for change
We are vehicles for transformation. Our thoughts, words and actions, individually and collectively, create the change our world urgently needs.
My own teacher, Garchen Rinpoche, was immersed in a life of monastic study and meditation in Tibet from the age of 7, until everything drastically changed when he was a young man. Like many high Lamas, he was imprisoned. During those 20 years, he witnessed the deaths of many friends. Now free, he speaks of the need for us to help everyone, by acting for the benefit to all beings though living a life of love and compassion. On April 13, he will give an address in Fairfax, Va., on compassion and other topics.
When you feel a tug at your heart, take action. I invite you to join in the conversation and find ways to engage the temple of the heart to be and live true change.
Khenpo Samdup is a Tibetan Buddhist monk and scholar, and a student of His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche. He is spiritual director of two Buddhist temples Drikung Dharma Surya Center, in Fairfax, Va., and Gar Drolma in Dayton, Ohio, and host of monthly meditations with the Four Cups in Washington.
