i wanna know what lu guang's grief-flavored isekai is abt ehehe

ehehehe so this is a potential new long fic that may or may not roll out after stars! Right now its working nickname is “oceans”, and it is loosely inspired by The Boy and the Heron. LOOSELY.

It’ll likely take longer to write because I’m letting myself discover the story as I go, but it’s definitely fun to work on!

Lu Guang scrambled to pull himself back upright, his breath cobbled comically into the back of his throat. He swung himself back to lift the pole up again in a threat, aiming its prong at the large, bristling owl. 

“I’m giving you one warning,” Lu Guang growled. “Leave me alone. Now.”

“You don’t even like being alone,” it said pedantically. 

Lu Guang jabbed the pole forward. The owl sprung off the railing just in time, flapping its great wings indignantly, before landing on the far corner of the balcony, out of reach. 

“Lu Guang,” the owl hooted. 

“What do you want from me?” Lu Guang spat. 

The owl preened its feathers, taking its time in an answer. 

“I think you ought to come with me,” it said. 

Lu Guang laughed shortly.

“You mean, to die?” he said. “Haven’t you done enough here?” 

The owl blinked. 

“I’m not the reason he’s dead, you know,” it said. 

I’m not the reason he’s dead, you know, was what Lu Guang heard. 

He flinched. 

“Congratulations,” he said venomously. “That makes one of us.”
