Writing tip of the day: Music

I’ll make this simple: If you’re writing, don’t listen to music with lyrics in a language that you understand. Not only will it distract you, but it'll give you a harder time to think of something to write about, since your brain is not only trying to listen to the music but also think of writing material.

I myself listen to video game OSTs when writing. Preferably the SPFBH and Okami OSTs, but I digress.

The reason why I recommend music from video games is because it’s meant to get you pumped and focused. It’s meant to get your interest. If you’re playing a game with good music, you focus more on the game itself. 

By the way, video game music isn’t the only option. Try listening to ballet music or even DJ music, such as Marshmello’s “Alone”. Listen to what is pleasurable to your ear. 

Now some of you may be thinking,”But I don’t like any of that music! I want my music!!!!!!” Well, that’s fine! Just try to find an instrumental, preferably remixed, since your brain might already know the lyrics to it.
