Whitebeard pirates week - day 3: Pops birthday
Authors note: Today isn't just Whitebeard's birthday, but also the birthday of Speed Jiru/Jill, the commander of the 14th division. I wanted to write a birthday drabble that included both birthday men and both deserve attention on their special day. Please don't forget Speed Jiru/Jill. He doesn't deserved to be outshadowed by Whitebeard.

Whitebeard pirates SFW Word count: 1,217
April 6th– a date that meant a lot to the Whitebeard pirates. It was the date they got to celebrate their father’s birthday – and their brother’s too, though he was content in just sharing his special day with the man that gave him a home and a purpose. That didn’t mean that Speed Jiru was forgotten, he just wasn’t the main focus for the party and he didn’t mind it. He too wanted his father to be the center of attention, feeling the love from his family.
It all started with a large brunch that lasted at least five hours. Thatch had worked hard all morning with his division to make if perfect. All of Whitebeard’s and Jiru’s favorite food was served, alongside the usual breakfast meals. The only ways for one to go hungry was to not show up or eat anything, which would upset Thatch and he would bug you to at least have something or drag you to Marco, so he could examine you. After all, if you didn’t eat, you had to be sick.
Anyway, the party started early on and you would find semi-drunk pirates dancing or singing – or both – around noon already. The mood was high, laughter and music drowned out all other noises, making it hard to have a normal conversation, if you were partying. There were also games and improvised sketches or short plays – everything you could think of as entertainment was most likely here or could be done rather quickly. You wanted to see some circus stuff? Kotatsu and Ace would be the lion and lion tamer, some others would be clowns and line dancers.
Whitebeard was in the center all day long, with a birthday hat over his bandana – one he wore with pride all day, as it was a gift from one of his sons. Jiru had also a small birthday hat, his usual hat in his room in honor of this hat. He mingled easily with everyone, while Whitebeard was sitting in his chair, nurses at his side, for once not complaining about the amount of booze he was drinking, though Marco did give him a small frown now and then.
“Don’t look like that, birdbrain. Let Oyaji enjoy his special day.” Tate – one of the nurses – poked Marco’s cheek, as he frowned again, when Whitebeard took another large gulp of his sake.
A sigh left Marco, as he knew he should let his father enjoy the day and not be bothered by his concerns, but it was hard for the phoenix to ignore the knowledge he had about his father’s health.
“Call me birdbrain again and I might place Thatch in your bed tonight, yoi.” He half-hearty threatened her.
She chuckled lightly. “We both know you wouldn’t do that, unless you want me to sleep in your bed, cuddling you and tomorrow when you wake up and your body …”
“I get it. No naked cook in your bed, yoi.” Marco did not want her to finish that sentence, since someone else was listening in on the conversation, as the two almost screamed at each other, to make sure the other heard what was said, due to the loud music.
It was then the music changed and people made room in the middle of the deck. Izo stood there, in his best kimono – dark purple, the hem dark pink, the mark on the sleeves was light blue and his indument was orange with blue flames. In his hands were two fans, one in all the colors of the rainbow, another with a cheery tree motive in full bloom. His make-up and hair was as flawless and perfect as always, today he wore a phoenix hairpin, which happened to be Whitebeard’s favorite mythical creature.
Slowly Izo started his dance, it’d become a tradition for him to dance on special occasions, Whitebeard’s birthday being one of them. His movements were enchanting and the only sound you could hear on the ship, when he danced, was the music he danced to. It started out slow, but as the story his dance told progressed, the faster the pace. To everyone’s surprised, Marco flew down, landing on ‘the dance floor’ and as he changed back to a man, they saw him wearing a kimono too. His was dark blue, the hem yellow and the indument dark purple with red-orange flames. The fan he had was black with a white moustache and in his left ear, was an earring in the same shape as the symbol on his chest. He synced easily up with Izo, the two now dancing together, making all stare in awe.
As the dance ended, the two men held each other’s gaze, panting lightly, but with a happy smile on their lips. It took a few seconds before the entire ship busted into loud cheering, people whistling and clapping at the two. Then they faced their father and bowed lightly to him.
“That was beautiful, my sons. Thank you.” Whitebeard smiled warmly at them.
Tate blinked confused, having thought that Marco had been at her side while Izo danced. When did he leave her and was he truly this fast at changing? She shook her head, but smiled. That was the best dance performance since Izo started this and she was impressed by Marco’s skills. He surely had performed really well.
Thatch easily made his way to Izo and Marco, Ace with him. “Guys that was amazing. I didn’t know you planned this?” The cook grinned, handing each of them a bottle of booze.
“Marco when did you have time for this?” Ace thought that the phoenix didn’t have time for learning how to dance.
“Oh Marco have learned to dance like this over many years, haven’t you, brother?” Speed Jiru butted in. He might not have been part of the crew back then, but he’d heard stories and even seen Izo dance with Marco in barely used storage room on a few occasions.
Ace gaped, as Izo and Marco chuckled, before drinking some of the booze handed to them. Thatch smiled, also having known that secret. Not that he’d caught them, but they’d told him. Maybe they would ask Ace to dance with them next year, though it did mean lot of work and rehearsals, which might be too much for the younger.
“Anyway, you two, it was amazing and mesmerizing. You really bring the party to the next level.” Speed Jiru grinned, cheering with them.
“Thank you. I can teach you a few moves, if you like to.” Izo hummed, as he handed Thatch the empty bottle. When Jiru nodded, the cross dresser grabbed the man’s hand and headed back to the dance floor.
Whitebeard watched as his children were enjoying the party, chattering with whoever came to talk to him. The music wasn’t as loud as before, as most of the musicians were now drinking and eaten. The cooks had brought out the sweets, a large ten layered cake with trays of cupcakes and cookies too. At this party you would not miss a thing when it came to party food. Thatch had planned everything for weeks, maybe even months, as this was the biggest party – a party that would last into the early mornings, with only few staying awake the entire night.

The rooms of the commanders
Standard commander room includes this: A bed, desk, nightstand, chair, shelf and closet.
Marco: His shelf is filled with medical books, history books and books about myths. His desk is neatly sorted with new paper, ink, pencils, a lamp and in and outgoing notes. As the first division commander, he got a room with a bathroom attached to his room.He also has a chest with personal stuff and it’s locked with five locks and a secret trap.
Jozu: His room is practical and one he only uses for sleep and paperwork. It’s not messy, but it’s not neat and tidy as Marco’s. The shelf is used for personal trinkets.
Ace: His walls are covered in newspapers about Luffy, alongside every wanted poster he got. A few books are on the shelf, a few figurines - gifts from Marco - and a dome with Luffy’s vivre card in it. On the floor you often find some clothes scattered, but else it’s clean.
Thatch: Cooking books on the shelf and few opened on the desk. It’s neat, tidy and cleaned everywhere in this room. His shelf also has his hair products, small trinkets and a framed picture with all fromt eh crew that was capable of being on the photo. Under his bed is a chest with nsfw stuff that would make most shifting uncomfortable.
Vista: He got another shelf for his hats and a coatstand. There’s always flower petals on the floor, the bed and desk. He had a few trinkets, but else books of magic and fairtytales on his shelf.
Blamenco: His room is messy, especially after he empties his pockets. His shelf is filled with stuff his brothers asked him to store, but have forgotten all about. He got a slight tendency to hoard things, which is clear to see when entering his room.
Rakuyo: His room looks like it’s been used for centuries, with scratches and slight destroyed funiture. He has little personal affects on display, as Macey tends to destroy what he has in his room, if she gets restless and lonely. She has her own small dogbed to sleep in, but is mostly sleeping next to Rakuyo. He doesn’t bother repair things to a new stadium, as he knows she’ll just destroy it again.
Namur: He collects seashells and all are on his shelf and desk. There’s also a bathtub in his room filled with seawater and more seashells. Not that he bathes in this, but sometimes he sleeps in it. His floor can be slight slippery.
Blenheim: Not one to tidy up his room, but it isn’t really messy. His room is barely used, when he isn’t sleeping. A few personal trinkets and boos are on his shelf, as not to look to empty.
Curiel: Unsafely to walk inside witho him being there. He got all sorts of half finished inventions around the room, tools lying around and there’s an unindentify smell lingering in the room.
Kingdew: His room looks almost unused, if it wasn’t for the extra gauntlets on the shelf and a framed picture of Whitebeard and him.
Haruta: Green colors dominates the room. On his shelf there’s a book of various pranks that had been pulled on the ship, be it his pranks or someone’ elses. There’s also pictures and a few carved figurines. His room is clean, but you can see someone spends time here. A few music note sheets are lying on the desk.
Atmos: Like Kingdew, he barely uses his room for anything but sleeping and paperwork. He does, however, have a few personal things on his shelf, mostly gifts received from his family.
Speed Jiru/Jill: Medival inspired room. His shelf has pictures and picture books on it, alongside a few trinkets that are inspired from the medival period of time. His lances are all sorted and hanging on the wall.
Fossa: His room is always smelling of cigars and looks like a cozy old man’s room. Besides the chair for his desk, he got a rocking chair, in which he sits, smokes and drinks rum, while reading a crime novel. His shelf has a lot of crime novels and horror stories too.
Izo: Like Marco, he got a bathroom attached to his room. He also have the biggest room to make room for all his stuff. Two closet filled with clothes, a wall with racks for shoes, a dressing table, which is filled with make-up and perfume. He got a partition and on his door is a large mirror. In the middle of the room, there’s a small table and pillows around it. It’s neat and tidy, everything have a spot. On his shelf he got crime novels, horror books and trinkets. There’s also a coatstand with wigs and he to got a chest with nsfw things that some benefits from. The colors dominating the room are soft pastel purple and pink.

@edwardnewqate
Nuuuuu. They are mine. It took me a long time to get them, but I have them now. The last commander I got was Speed Jiru/Jill. I’m hyped I got all, though I wish there was a possibility to exchange characters between friends. That would be awesome, instead of just powering up. Would make it more fun to play. Well, all I can hope for is for me to get WB one day.
