So bit of a sketch dump. I didnt feel like finishing these ones lol.

On the left I drew one of my riverclan oc’s Bluescale. Someone had an AU on here, I think it was a mythical AU or something like that, where riverclan were mermaid cats. I think the Au was super creative and I’ve been dieing to draw one of my riverclan ocs with a fish tail <3

I have a sepret head cannon, that if they’re on land, only they’re tails turn into fish tails. When they’re underwater, then they become mermaid cats!

On the upper right we have the very sad Rosestar. Not sure why shes sad, she just is. I changed her design a bit, my old design just bugged me for some reason.

And lastly on the lower right we have Speckledust the Med cat in the comic about Loststar. I dont want to say to much about him cause I dont want to spoil anything. But I can say that him and Loststar dont get along very well.

okay time for a history lesson >:)

- speckledust has been working to destroy the clans for a very long time. she worked with her mate privetheart, along with a cat called goldenhawk. also some cats from other clans. they created so much omg

- theres the rockclan civil war which has since divided the clan... lightningstar’s leadership is the result of the battle, and he is very different from rockclan’s traditional ways

- the moorclan/burnclan war has been going on for YEARS but it was worsened by speckledust’s meddling. it ended up with the moorclan deputy dying and official war being announced by wildstar. current leaders sweetstar and dovestar are still fighting to this day

- speckledust murdered a bunch of cats and framed it on others just to start chaos. shes so evil n i love her tbh

- the burnclan leadership system is a.. i forgot the word. but basically one family leads. dawnstar’s dad was leader, and then he was murdered by his son duskhawk. duskhawk/star is the true originator of chaos, hes the one speckledust WANTS to be

- duskstar was eventually killed by his sister, dawnstreak at DUSK... wow... symbolism... then dawnstar officially became leader at dawn. very cool. dawnstar chose her mate as deputy

- this is going somewhere i promise lol. when hickorystride (dawn’s mate) died, dawnstar chose dovefeather, her former apprentice, as deputy. this is A Choice  because: > dovefeather wasnt family. dawnstar had two children, lionsplash and goldenhawk. she was terrified to choose them as dep because goldenhawk had proven to be very ambitious and cruel. lionsplash was very close to goldenhawk. dawnstar feared that they would be like her brother > dovefeather was the one who (accidentally) murdered the moorclan deputy. yes, that moorclan deputy. the moorclan deputy’s death that offically started the whole burnclan/moorclan war. the war that is ongoing

> goldenhawk was PISSED she didnt become dep so the whole mess continued. dawnstar’s rlly trying her best tho... i lov her

> this drama kinda ends with a final battle .... lionsplash proves to be good... goldenhawk attacks him... dawnstar protects him, killing goldenhawk but dying in the process.... privetheart dies not longer after this battle and speckledust is left bitter and alone, resenting spottedwing! which caused the whole shadowpath drama! wow everythings connected

There are cats that doubt her remaining strength. Her weary paws no longer reassure the clan as she once did. Apprentice to Speckledust.

FAMILY Cardinalgaze & Nightbird (biological parents) Patchflower (adoptive mother) Rosepaw (sister)

Avoidant, insecure Shadowpaw. He’s known since he was very young of Cardinalgaze’s crimes and the Colony’s feelings towards her. He is unable to escape them -- and he believes that it will always be that way. The Colony will look at him and only ever be able to see a memory of his mother. What’s the point in even trying to change their minds?

He’s never had any friends. It’s always been him and Rosepaw against the world. But they’re apprentices now, and she’s reaching out to their denmates, leaving him behind. He’s stuck with Doepaw and Beechpaw, who won’t seem go away... which maybe he’s okay with, but he won’t admit that. Even if they’re really nice.

Shadowpaw maintains his unfriendly front and keeps to himself. The Colony don’t need him, but it’s fine. Whatever. He doesn’t need them, either. Anybody who leaves him is just doing exactly what he expects them too. They’re just like the others.

Under his layers of fear and anxiety, hides a flicker of anger that is becoming more prevalent under Speckledust’s training. Maybe that’s not too much of a bad thing, though...

Mentor to Shadowpaw.

FAMILY Privetheart (ex-partner)

Speckledust: feared, respected, and so very captivating. She doesn’t talk about her past much, but the Colony quietly know it was difficult. Not only was she was born during tyrant Duskhawk’s bloody reign, but she is the one who took down revolutionist leader Privetheart -- her own mate.

By the end of the Revolution, she had lost everything. She knows that not every cat was caught and that a storm still brews within the Colonies. She trusts nobody with her secrets and keeps to herself, but silently longs for the day that she can end the Revolution for good.

Speckledust has seen Fire Colony’s strength under a stable leader, and Dovefall certainly isn’t that. She wants the Colony to be better, more powerful; able to take down anything that threatens future generations.

She doesn’t resent the Colony that raised her, but does not always trust their initiative. She sees how they treat Shadowpaw, and notices the anger that he harbors within him. If she could just help him release it, then perhaps it would do them all some good.

lore(?) things that will get their own post but are worth explaining

note: leaders do not have special prefixes, they keep their warrior name

cardinalgaze (prev spottedwing) - shadowpaw + rosepaw's mother. exiled from fire colony for murder/attempted murder. accused of numerous other crimes, but only ever admitted to one attack. deeply hated by the colony, and thus that distrust has been projected onto her children

duskhawk - evil guy who killed his own father to become leader. led fire colony for 5 years, leading them to the brink of destruction alongside causing a famine and multiple wars. absolutely destroyed any remaining closeness/friendliness between the colonies, which not even dawnspirit was able to bring back. killed by his sister, dawnspirit

dawnspirit - duskhawk's brother, the leader after him. absolutely beloved and remembered as the leader who saved fire colony/brought them "back into the light." made the VERY controversial decision to appoint her apprentice dovefall as deputy instead of one of her children (breaking a years-long tradition). killed and was killed by her daughter, goldenhawk, during the revolution battle

the revolution - a very large violent group of cats who rebelled against the colonies in an attempt to destroy them. formed a couple years after dawnspirit took charge. very few members are known, let alone their motives. most were killed or mysteriously disappeared. most notable members are privetheart (presumed leader, speckledusts ex-mate) and goldenhawk (dawnspirit's daughter, lionsplash's sister). 'the revolution' can also be used when referring to the Big Battle that took place, resulting in the deaths of privetheart, goldenhawk + dawnspirit (and the dissolvement of the revolution)

honestly just assume everybody is bi unless stated otherwise but the Definitive (main cast) lgbt cats are:

shadowpath - bi, ace-spec doesplash - wlw, maybeee nonbinary she/they? i dunno i project a lot roseflight - wlw skyheart - trans gay beechleaf - mlm speckledust - bi? pan? idk she doesnt really use labels

there are also a bunch of background characters who are lgbt, uhh they include:

honeyfrost - he/him lesbian or Just A Bi Guy flashheart - lesbian bluepetal, hollyflight and goldenhawk - all lesbeeans wolfsnow - asexual larksong - trans bi, also poly lotusbelly + lynxflower - poly at least, lynx is mlm. lotus, lark and lynx are all together

Ummm tell about your ocs I haven't heard about them!

okok so i’v been working with these ocs for about 3-4 years now, and the story has changed A Lot. it was og a fanfic but these days im just having fun w the characters with no final comic/book etc in mind

the key characters, as of the current version are:

actually first, im gonna make clan info posts soon, but smth to note before then is that burnclan (the clan most of the key chars r in) cant separate between parent and child. so a child is heavily judged/rejected based on their parent(s) actions

shadowpaw (later -path): the Main character.... his mother is spottedwing, who was exiled from burnclan not long after he was born. he holds a lot of resentment towards the clan for how they treat him and doesnt really talk with most of his clanmates. hes a bit of a jerk and lashes out a lot

rosepaw (later -flight): shadowpaw’s sister. unlike him, she has a more progressive mindset and wants to work hard to gain her clan’s approval + be better than her mother. shes really encouraging of shadowpaw and they’v been close since they were kits, but lately hes been getting more distant :(

spottedwing: not much is known abt her, shes not in the picture. she was exiled a few months ago for attacking a respected member of her clan, and has also been accused of some other attacks & even murders. the most shadow/rose know about her is her name and what she did

patchflower: shadowpaw/rosepaw’s adoptive mother. shes one of the only cats who has never judged them for their mother. shes perfect, i love her so much

speckledust: shadowpaw’s mentor. she thinks that there is room for improvement in burnclan and knows that spottedwings exile is barely the start of dealing with traitors. she doesnt trust most of her clanmates, and isnt exactly subtle about these views when training shadowpaw

doepaw (later -splash): a close friend of shadow. shes got a bit of a crush on him and is the love interest (....unless??). shes lovely, but prone to overthinking and a bit of a pushover

beechpaw (later -leaf): shadowpaw’s best friend! very different to shadow, hes full of energy and very optimistic. bends the rules a bit too

umm there is also skypaw/heart but i havent yet decided how much i wanna reveal. so i’ll just say hez from rockclan, knows beech, and is quite cold

some other important-ish characters are bluepetal, spotted’s childhood best friend, and nightbird, spottedwings exmate/shadowpaw’s father who has since distanced himself from the family

oh my gosh hi thank you sm . i’ve had these ocs since i was like 11 or something?? i started a story called “shadowpath’s insanity” (renamed later to shadowpath’s fate bc the use of ‘insanity’ was bad/wrong!). i started writing a fanfic and worked on it for a looong time before deciding i really didn’t like the story, so i thought i’d started from scratch ! then i was like “actually i dont have the motivation to write and plan a whole book so i’ll just! talk about them on a sideblog!” @wc-shattered-peace is that sideblog, but its been inactive for months because i once again lost motivation to work on the story. about a week ago i started thinking about the ocs a bit again.

cw: parental abuse (poorly done... it needs so much work)

anyways yes OC TIME !!! shadowpath is..... questionable. if i ever wanna remake the story he needs some WORK. he was born with a physical disfiguration on his face. he was rejected by his mother bc of it but then i was like “no thats gross” SO i changed it....

his birth mom is called spottedwing, and She was close w somebody called speckledust (who knew the rest of spottedwings family). theres a whole backstory but essentially speckledust is an awful awful person who resented spottedwing because of some stuff with spottedwings dad. anywayz spottedwing grew up believing if she was “perfect” she’d be able to gain her loved ones’ approval but it never happened.

there is SO MUCH more history omg but basically in spottedwings adulthood, she witnesses speckledust literally murder someone and confronts her. they yell at each other and then speckledust attacks her, but spottedwing defeats and kills her. it leaves her pretty scarred. SO when she eventually has children of her own, she senses a “dark presence” around shadowkit. believing this to be speckle coming back to haunt her, she rejects him. its uhh very messy and 1000% needs work if i ever wanna go back to it but thats the basic story.

shadowkit is raised by patchflower who is a perfect angel. she is literally the best cat ever to exist, i love her so much. shes so loving and supportive and just wants the best for shadow.

more character stuff because this is getting messy:

- rosepaw, who is shadowpaths biological sister. she was told by spottedwing to never talk to shadowpaw but she was like “hm. no. i think hes okay.” she ends up dying for him after he impulsively goes out to attack a badger, by himself, to prove to the clan/spotted hes not weak. (thinking of changing this tho bc rosepaw deserves better)

- i mentioned this in the beech/doe post but shadow has abandonment issues. he blames himself for A LOT of things. he literally does not know how to deal with his trauma so he lashes out constantly and is always angry. he is an asshole and not a good person, but his reasons arent bad. he does some bad bad things but he ultimately starts a recovery journey and becomes a better person.

- speckledust makes a comeback and trains shadow in the dark forest. if it sounds like mapleshade and crookedstar ur right lol i have to assume the og story is inspired by that. shes basically like “hey kill spottedwing lol” and he agrees. speckledust doesnt actually care abt him at all though, shes super abusive and is the main reason for shadows actions . it takes a long time for him to heal from it

- beechleaf (? i think thats his name i forget) is his childhood best friend. shadow was kinda always in love with him. i already talked abt them but eventually, beech leaves burnclan for rockclan, where his mate skyheart lives. shadow breaks after this and starts to push everyone away. it also enhances his abandonment issues. again, he blames himself for it but REFUSES to admit it so he just lashes out

- doesplash is also a childhood friend who had a crush on him early-on. the feelings never fade. her and shadow’s relationship isnt that healthy tbh hes pretty mean to her and shes a pushover. he does rlly care abt her and appreciate her but he doesnt show it and theres no excuse (even if theres explanation). she eventually stands up for himself and breaks off the friendship, which is when shadow realises that he has almost nobody in his life. other than speckledust... and >

- oakpaw! a few moons younger than shadow and quite a bit like beech. shadow projects a bunch of feelings (other than romantic bc he meets oak when oak is a kitten) onto him. another unhealthy relationship... oak is a cheerful sweetheart but pretty bland rn. he has two siblings

- honeyfrost and lionsplash who i can talk abt if ur still interested lol. lionsplash is his father-figure and mentor. honeyfrost is basically his counsellor.

- oh i forgot to mention him but nightbird is shadows biological dad. he literally never talks to shadow. his relationship with spottedwing is toxic and she pressures him into everything. thats no excuse of course, but it is an explanation. he eventually stands up for shadow and breaks away from spotted

- oh my god i forgot ANOTHER CHARACTER... bluepetal. shes an angel as well. shes the medicine cat. shes spottedwings childhood best friend who is in love with her. but she pulls away from the friendship after spottedwing rejected shadow. shes very very sad and hates that she still has feelings for spotted. she tries to support shadow but shadow is kinda mean to her. i love her a lot

again the story needs A LOT of work. im really unhappy with how little me handled the abuse in the story so ! i will be working on that if i ever return to it. i honestly have so much left to say abt the plot HAHA so lmk if you wanna know more
