i was talking to my stepmom about how if you look far "back" enough in space you technically will be looking back in time, and tying it into some crackpot theories i've come up with while on copious amounts of drugs for the reason the universe exists, and i saw the moment her eyes glazed over with disinterest, shortly before she said, "honestly, i don't really think about that stuff ever."

#it's fine we have a good relationship she is just a blunt swiss woman lol but like damn #it blows my mind when people openly admit they have no curiosity about the biggest mystery of all #probably because most of them pacified themselves with the sham of religion and the rest of them are just genuinely uncurious in general #but i swear since i first learned about the solar system and outer space when i was in kindergarten that shit has PLAGUED me #what is BEHIND this all????? is behind even a valid expression here?#what was the catalyst?#what made the big bang...bang??#obviously we were a miraculous accident but why is EVERYTHING else here? to what end?#i swear if i hadn't been beating back shit mental health my entire life and had access to $100k i'd go back to school #to become some kind of planetary scientist #specifically the kind that studies exoplanets and what it takes for life to flourish #if i had a mind for physics i'd study dark matter and quantum physics. if there are answers they have to be there #personal #in the mean time i have learned to just think my thoughts to myself bc the people i know don't gaf lol
