do people who say that it "doesn't make sense" to interpret gabriel as transmasc not understand what an allegory is 😭

he's a sexless being that had to work to rise in the ranks of heaven and "earn" his pronouns. then when he falls from said rank he's agressively degendered by the council as a means to degrade him, but the narration insists on referring to him correctly even when it wouldn't "make sense" to because it's what he worked hard for and learning to keep his agency and the identity he chose for himself rather than what's imposed on him is a major part of his character arc.

you can have whatever alternative interpretations and headcannons you want but saying that it doesn't make sense to read his arc as a transmasc allegorical narrative is not only invalidating people's experiences with a character they might honestly resonate with (most people i see who interpret him as such are transmasculine themselves) but also just. kind of refusing to engage with the text in its own terms?

like sure you can say that it doesn't make sense for gabriel to have enough self realization come out as queer and specifically as a trans man and start holy testosterone or whatever since before the events of the story but that's what an allegory is for. the world and story of ultrakill simply wouldn't allow for a character with modern understanding of queer terminology and culture to go through the same experiences that would be 100% analogous with that of a real life transgender man. gabriel is a fictional mythical being in a heavily fantasious non-modern setting that operates by its own rules entirely.

Colossus

Or undeath. 

When she had spun on her heel and thrown the elixir to Halsin she hadn’t really been thinking too much beyond the immediate threat and how to keep her companions alive. Hadn’t been thinking about what the “after” of their fight would leave her with. So when the fight was over and that line of thinking evaporated she was chagrined and thrilled to realize what she was left with was a druid of colossal size and embarrassingly damp panties. 

Halsin had been huge before but now the sight of him was enough to break her brain a little bit. 

His hand could completely engulf her head and the thought alone was enough to have her lashes fluttering, her breath whooshing out of her in a pained sigh. When he turns to see her a kind smile breaks across his face and Tav’s worry dissipates in its warmth. 

“It’s late,” she says chidingly when she’s close. She climbs a large rock to put them on more even ground, sitting on the edge of the damp stone closest to him and letting her legs dangle over the water. 

Halsin hums in agreement. “I find myself overwhelmed,” he says softly. “Overwhelmed and grateful for this chance to see these lands begin to heal. For once I think my rest will not be found in my meditations but here, watching the fruits our labors unfold.” 

Gods, even the way he spoke had a sexy appeal that left her heart hammering in her chest. “Right,” she says skeptically, “I guess. You could just say you’re too excited to sleep. Or trance or whatever.” 

Halsin laughs and shrugs. “I suppose I could.” When she meets his eyes there’s something in them she doesn’t recognize immediately but it warms her clear down to her toes. “You have a gift for seeing to the heart of things. A trait you share with Karlach I feel. One could learn a lot from seeing the world as you do.” 

Tav feels herself blush though she’s not sure why. She coughs. “Ah, right, well. Thanks. Myself, I quite like to smoke a little flower to help me relax if I can’t sleep. Something I’m sure you’re acquainted with.” 

“Indeed,” he agrees. “The stresses of leadership can take their toll and as Archdruid I became well acquainted with medicinal herbs to soothe the mind when rest was beyond my reach.” He gives a thoughtful hum. “Pity I left my pipe behind.” 

“Oh I don’t know,” says Tav slyly pulling out a familiar pipe from the small pouch at her hip. 

Halsin laughs, a booming thing that vibrates low in Tav’s belly. “How did you–?”

She fans a hand out and wiggles her fingers with a grin. “Sticky fingers I’m afraid.” She digs in her pouch a little more until she pulls out a little snuff box the size of her thumb and a match. “I snagged it after talking with Lettie, I honestly didn’t have a whole lot of faith you were still alive.” 

With the skill of someone who is well acquainted with the action she packs and lights the pipe, sucking at the stem till she feels the familiar curl of smoke burn in her throat. She turns to offer it to him but realizes his predicament in the same breath he declines with a rueful smile.  

“Too small for these fingers,” he tells her. If he notices how her dark eyes seem to zero in on his hands for a beat too long he is gracious enough not to shame her for it. 

Tav, as is her nature, puts zero thought into the consequences before she offers the easiest solution that pops in her tadpole’d brain. “Come here then. Let me show you how it’s done in the Gate.” 

Halsin stares at her but she beckons him closer impatiently until he complies. 

“Come on, scaredy cat.” She sucks at the pipe for a long moment before she pulls his face close and puts her lips close to his, tapping at his bottom lip till he opens his mouth and she breathes the smoke between his lips. When he sucks it in her lips graze his, only lightly, like the brush of a feather. 

She lingers then, checking his expression and the moment seems to slow down and draw out as if they’re locked in a slowing spell. This close she gets her first real look at the peculiar shade of his eyes and what was once a harmless way to share a little smoke between friends turns into something heavier, charged. 

Leaning back she sucks at the pipe again, a shorter puff to give herself something to do before she opens her fat mouth and says something insane. Halsin breathes out the smoke slowly, turning his gaze from watching her to instead watch the curl of smoke twist and dissipate in the evening air. 

“Inventive,” he says, voice a tad rougher than he normally speaks. 

Humming in assent she smiles, enjoying the pleasant buzz that hums along her frayed nerves, soothing the disjointed clamor of her thoughts. “I wasn’t sure about you,” she confesses after a beat. He looks at her with interest. “The other druids in the grove were so…” she trails off, weighing her words. She settles on frankness. “Rude. Possessive of their time, their grove. Willing to follow Khaga rather than risk speaking up against each other. Even after you came back I tried talking to them but besides the few that were relieved most were more than glad to see the back of me and ballsy enough to say it to my face.” 

Halsin frowns but lets her continue. 

“I was worried you were going to turn out to be the same. Sure, you accepted the tieflings and all but, still, I wondered when your patience was going to snap. We’re not exactly the most cohesive group on our best days. You surprised me though. You take everything as it comes and never lose sight of what you want while sticking to your scruples. It’s admirable.” 

Maybe it’s the way the moonlight shines in his eyes or maybe it’s the flower working its magic, untangling her tongue but she pushes on, a light flush suffusing her cheeks. 

“You’ve become something of a hero to me. Someone I can aspire to be like, especially now. With the bloody cult and all. Gods and curses and monsters. You’re someone I can look at and be reminded that, even against these absurd, impossible odds, I don’t have to lose sight of myself. You look at me and it’s like you really see me. See the me that I want to see in myself. I, uh, I’ve never had that before.” She breaks off with a rueful chuckle. “Sorry, I just had to say it. It’s just…I’m really glad you’re here is all.” She rubs the back of her neck and looks away from his stare. 

A finger as large as her wrist brushes her chin and her gaze snaps back to his in surprise. 

“I feel the same.” He swallows and Tav tracks the movement before meeting his eyes again, feeling something like anticipation welling up within her. “About you. Before you came to the grove I had all but lost sight of who I was. Being Archdruid consumed me so entirely I had…cast off who I was. It didn’t seem to matter, not when so many things needed doing, people needed the skills and diplomacy of the First Druid, not me. It’s been a long time, longer than I like to think about, since I had a…friend. Someone I could just enjoy the company of without the distance of my station playing some role.”

“Sounds lonely.” 

“Yes. It was. You pay me a high compliment, calling me a pillar to look to but it is you, my friend, who has been my guiding light. You showed me that ‘Halsin’ still has value, beyond the title and everything else. It means a great deal to me, what you’ve given me. You mean a great deal to me.” 

Tav shrugs a shoulder, lopsided smile bashful in the face of such open praise. “Flattery will get you everywhere.” It’s a crude attempt at brushing off the heavy feeling that has settled over the moment but Halsin’s eyes crinkle at the corners, charmed. Producing another match she gestured with the now-cold pipe, “Another hit?” 

Halsin’s chest expands as he takes in a slow breath, as if conflicted and thinking too hard about it. Tav, who has perhaps never thought too hard about anything in her entire life, ‘tsk’s’ with a teasing smile and lights the pipe, sucking on the lip of the stem. Holding the smoke in she gives him a challenging look, smirking when he draws closer. 

Emboldened by the lingering intimacy from their conversation and her own burgeoning tangle of feelings and lust, Tav grasps his chin with both hands and plants her lips against the seam of his firmly, releasing the air and smoke from her lungs into his mouth when he sucks in a surprised gasp. She lingers there, eyes shut and consumed with the warmth of his lips against hers before reluctantly pulling away. 

His eyes are shut tight and she feels a twinge of guilt for the way he holds himself so still and tense. “Was that alright?” She asks quietly, wondering which would destroy her first, the rejection or the disappointment. 

But the druid surprises her. “Yes,” he utters, eyes opening at last. “I am only disappointed my current form is not well suited for returning the gesture.” 

Tav has a sudden vision of being suffocated by those lips. A warm wet tongue the size of her face gliding over her body and she shivers with want. Her tongue darts out to wet her lips and his eyes flick to her mouth to watch it closely. “I wouldn’t say that.” 

A muscle in Halsin’s jaw twitches as he clenches his teeth together, the pupils of his eyes swelling and she breathes out slowly, suddenly acutely aware of their proximity. 

“You’re not shy about what you want,” he breathes with a smile. “I like that.” 

Tav’s expression turns wry. “You say that now,” she mutters. 

Before Halsin can think of how to respond to a loaded statement like that she leaps off the boulder she’d been sitting on and approaches him. She doesn’t hide the way she stares at his body. The way her eyes trail along his massive legs while she steps between them. The way they linger on his hands, the expanse of his chest, and trail scorchingly up his neck to his face. 

“The pipe is nice but I know of even better ways to relax.” 

Halsin’s chuckle rumbles in the night air. “An intriguing if unwise notion.”

One major implication I don't think that episode really took the time to settle on is the implication that the Toymaker has already massively messed up the universe?

Toymaker: I came to this universe with such delight. And I played them all, Doctor. I toyed with supernovas, turned galaxies into spin tops. I gambled with God and made him a jack-in-the-box. Toymaker: I made a jigsaw out of your history... did you like it? Toymaker: The Master was dying and begged for his life with one final game, and when he lost, I sealed him for all eternity within my gold tooth.

And later:

Toymaker: Do you think a grand total of two can cause me to shiver when I've played against the Guardians of Time and Space and shrank them into voodoo dolls?

So to summarise:

It's implied the universe is now even more destroyed by the Toymaker's reality warping. Granted we don't know what the scale of this is, unlike the Flux, but it's possibly proportionally quite big considering how little of the universe is left already? That being said, he could have done this in history before the Flux, since it was a linear event, in which case this is far less of an issue.

That being said, it's likely this was reversed by the Toymaker being banished - so we're probably not going to see galaxy-sized spin-tops in the future. How many people died, and if they come back however, is less clear.

The Master (presumably dying after POTD), and the Black and White Guardians (at least - possibly the other 3 guardians too, excluding the Toymaker - though they're the main ones, and it's "order and chaos" specifically which are mentioned in the episode) have all gamed with the Toymaker and lost. The tooth!Master is at least left in our universe, and may possibly be secure with UNIT. The fate of the Guardians is a bit less clear, as is the implications for the balance of the universe.

But perhaps the biggest thing, and the one the episode actually took the time to give us a confused 14 reaction shot to:

The Toymaker has a made a 'jigsaw' out of the Doctor's history (or maybe history in general, although he does say 'your').

So what does that mean?

The hint is that the Doctor has already experienced whatever it is... so what was it that he caused with his interference?

To me there's perhaps three possible options:

The Star Beast - this would be an oddly minor thing to refer to, but arguably makes the most sense in the 'arc' of the specials. Perhaps he's referring to the Doctor encountering Beep the Meep for the first time again? ie. taken one jigsaw piece and exchanged its position in his timeline. For now this might be my headcanon regarding it, but would be really odd to be the intention, especially since we're already disregarding most of the other appearances of the Toymaker in the EU? It's also of course not the first time we've had an adaptation of an EU story in the main show without referencing the original (the no. 1 example being Human Nature - there are others like The Lodger and Dalek, but they're different enough that they can co-exist in a continuity with their source material).

The Timeless Child / Fugitive Doctor - RTD has said he's not going retcon the arc, but this arguably makes the most sense as a 'puzzle' being made out of the Doctor's history? Especially with regards to the Fugitive Doctor anyway, given there's the additional complications of her a) being the "Doctor", b) having a Police Box TARDIS, yet c) seemingly being from around the time of the Anchoring of the Thread.

The Toymaker's being time-wimey, it hasn't happened yet / it's nothing in particular - While it would be a bit confusing to contradict the one detail we got in the episode, this is always a possibility too. After all, there was a lot of sequel hooking all across these specials, so it might be something RTD will come back to, especially if we are going to be seeing more of the past Doctors in future series? Hopefully not by the biregeneration theory he gave about them all being split retroactively, because that is literally insane and doesn't even make the little sense the 14-15 one does....wtf.

So overall, what do I think?

Well I think I can be somewhat forgiving with the damage to the rest of the universe, just because it's implied that it might be reset, and the scale/lethality was never established. Plus like I said, there is some justification to the proportional issue not being too bad when combined with the Flux.

The Black and White Guardians implication is... interesting. We are gradually building up more and more of those 'Great Old One' / pre-universe elements in (New)NewWho, so there's a good chance this could come back in the future. It probably won't have immediate effects on the universe, as the Guardians seemed to be more concerned with specific dangers like the Key to Time. It could perhaps lead to more Eternals popping up across the universe, given the Guardians were the only force they really answered to. RTD I think is also quite aware of some of the Eternal-type lore too, since he played around with it quite a bit in those Series 1 articles talking about the Time War.

The Master's obviously coming back and as silly as this was, it does at least justify him being alive after POTD. It actually opens up the possibility of seeing Dhawan himself again too, which would be great! The nail-polished hand picking it up felt like a bit of a trolling moment, after how underwelming all the theories of who did it were when the End of Time came along. Someone pointed out that Kate actually has the same nail-polish, which would be interesting. Perhaps when we next see the Master, they'll be in UNIT captivity, Delgado style?

Finally, the jigsaw line, which is possibly the most interesting. Originally I was going to lean towards this being nothing / a vague setup for future past-Doctor stuff, since that seems to be the default, but now that I've laid it out... I think this could be a setup for more Fugitive!Doctor appearances. It makes the most sense from a story perspective anyway, given what the Toymaker said and some of the questions surrounding her not being answered, whether or not it's the direction the franchise would actually want to go.

After all, as controversial as the Timeless Child lore was, as far as I'm aware Jo Martin was pretty well recieved, and I'm sure RTD would love to look for opportunities to do more with her somehow. Whether he'd want something so continuity dependent from a showrunning perspective, however, is a bit more questionable.

The capacity to move, circulate, restore familiar patterns of work and sociality depend on the capacities to detect the presence of viruses, to detect trajectories of transmission, and surges and flattening of curves. The substantial elaboration of surveillance apparatuses is now well underway.

But there are also other more minor or subtle matters of concern when it comes to detection. These are about not only how present conditions are read in terms of detecting trends and patterns, but also the ways in which people detect themselves in a cascade of reports, stories, and analyses. How they see themselves a part of or apart from particular renditions of reality. There are those who detect that this crisis is a definitive crisis, that from which the once normal can never be restored, that is the harbinger of a new world and economic system. There are those who experience this time more cyclically, who detect the return of conditions that they already experienced some time ago, that reset the game, that wipe out all of the activisms and efforts of decades or a generation.

For example, many progressive activists who have worked with poor communities and social justice issues detect the present conditions as a return to 1998 and the end of the New Order regime of Suharto. All the work that had been done to strengthen the capacities and livelihoods of low-income settlements, to build new civil institutions is detected to have now largely been undone in a matter of weeks. On the other hand, decades of activism in India aimed at making the state assume more responsibility for ensuring the social welfare of the majority suddenly materializes in a substantial program of food and income support but in a context where many of the intended beneficiaries have at least momentarily disappeared from view. The practices of opacity that enabled many to secure livelihoods under the radar now complicate the ability of the state to reach them. Here, detection becomes an intricate game: the need to be fed but the need to avoid capture.

These conundrums are set within a larger game of contestation about ultimate values—the exigency to live versus the exigency to be free, reducing detection to all kinds of exhausted binaries, or at least arguments about proportionality. What proportionality is proper for what kinds of populations? Should those whose livelihoods are dependent upon day labor, hawking, waste recycling, artisanal factories, and marketing be forced into more extremes of impoverishment in the interest of reducing infection and morbidity rates? What degree of enforcement of spatial restrictions constitutes heavy-handedness?

A little bit of this, a little bit of that

Recipes for disaster would suggest a proportionality of ingredients, as would the rectification of disasters. But what if proportionality was not evident nor possible? What if it was unclear the extent to which existent realities on the ground were at one and same time self-destructive, virtuous, frivolous, necessary, generous, and manipulative? What if it were impossible to tell exactly what is virtuous or debilitating? In such instances everything become experimental, heuristic, a wager on a particular disposition. Detection stretches to enfold nearly impossible calculations as to the likelihood of viral transmissions in urban settlements difficult to lockdown, where interactions between exposures to various outsides, circuits of mobility, probability of contacts with those engaged in foreign travel, access to the tools of prevention, such as soap and water, are estimated as probabilities according to differing proportionality of contributing variables.

While it is clear that the survival should be extended wherever possible, that a right to survive should be embedded in every context of governance, just what constitutes that right, what secures it, what makes it possible in a given context may not entail either the possibility of working out proportions or that it even should. In other words, if initial responses to a pandemic require everyone to stay at home almost all of the time, what is the definition of home in which one must stay. If the outside is set off against the inside, to what extent are the dangers reversible, where certain dimensions of the outside are more than safe than anywhere else. If small factories in dense neighborhoods are being shut down because their production is considered inessential work, under what conditions and product lines could it be deemed essential, especially where these factories have always specialized in repurposing their tools and skills for other things. For all those petty traders who are taking whatever wares they have to sell to the rooftops, servicing the demand for goods issued from below, what happens to a refiguring of the street if these traders prefer not to return to the “ground. If youth still running in the thick lanes of popular neighborhoods force the elder authorities indoors, how might youth not so much take their place but rehearse their capacity, make something new in the here and now. The point here is that proportions depend upon the stability of their ingredients or variables, and that this may not be the time to insist upon such integrity.

We may face a situation where preferences as to who can move where will be issued on the basis of detailed profiling of an increased range of data, just as surveillance has been structured on the basis of probabilities that certain correlations of variables pose specific kinds of risk. Whichever way such expansions of data analysis may go, there is an expansion of a grid on which individuals are positioned. Critical decisions may be increasingly made, not on the basis of the basic grids of race, class, national origin, or age but on one’s positionality on a proliferating series of grids that represent a constant reworking of multiple variables that produces a score calibrated to particular tasks, settings, futures expectations, and needed functions.

When figuring doesn’t seem to matter

It is not so much that systems of racialization are upended, extended, or reinvented, but that a more intricate gridding system provides an illusory “real” that such racial or class distinctions no longer are the primary things that matter. We all know that black people are more vulnerable to bad outcomes in the current situation because blackness ramifies across all kinds of relative deprivations and over-exertions. But this “clarity” ends up always being denied, excised from the reigning proportionalities or registered only as an epidemiological fact.

Rather, such extensions of the grid are constituted to provide an assurance of equality, but an equality that loses the conventional terms of comparison, and importantly the public negotiations about what social (biological, historical) differences mean. Instead of society democratically working out what equality means, it becomes increasingly a matter of a “mathematics of singularities”. As a result, I may have certain privileges, access, and rights based on an algorithmically deliberated correlation of thousands of date points that generate a reality of my existence beyond any common vernacular. What makes me equal to others then is not evaluable in terms of what I have access to but that the terms of any decision are largely inaccessible to everyone.

Additionally, the very need for equality is obviated in the emphasis that for every moment in every place and for every function or activity there is a “right” person to occupy that moment. When algorithmic deliberations generate composite scores for specific requirements, they constantly run different correlations among different constellations of variables so that each variable does not possess a static or definitive weight, but is always recalibrated in terms of what at that moment is being compared. Thus the fact that I have a university education, or am a 68 year old white man, or that I have worked in 57 different countries in the world or have two daughters, etc. are variables without definitive weight, so that wherever I am positioned on an expanding grid, I do not know for sure exactly how much any single factor “counted” in terms of my positioning.  There is a thus an equality of uncertainty that inhabits this system of expanding grids.

If there are any prospects then for equanimity, for a sense of collective action based on a fundamental negotiability of meaning of the very language we use in order to approach and represent each other, it may seem  necessary to get off the grid, off the imposition of more intricate segmentations, cadastration, mapping, remote sensing, and enclosing. While the grid may have indicated a public realm, of a public connected to the grid of provisioning, manifesting an infrastructure of commonality, not only has many aspects of such a grid been overwhelmed, through disinvestment, surges of demand, privatization ,and its conversion into a speculative asset,  but the logic of the grid itself stretches the “public” beyond forms of recognition that can be actively deliberated by residents at different scales. It is not just that public utilities and transport systems have been taken apart, but rather that infrastructures are sutured and articulated across territories in such variegated and consolidated ways as to render the terms and financial underpinnings inaccessible to the various forms of the public they are intended to serve.

Yet, at the same time are grids not even more necessary at this moment. As the state is mobilized or pressured into doing things it never considered doing—mass provisioning and income support, will grids not be needed in order to make more visible the populations that need this support? If the exigencies of everyday survival in desperate condition may propel vulnerable populations in greater levels of opacity, of operating under the radar, then do they not need to be coaxed back into view as the conditions to which they might be adequately serviced?

Again, here is the question of proportionality between visibility and invisibility, between knowing precisely what kinds of variables are contributing to particular situations and the need to keep things out of precise detection. And so perhaps we need new practices of detection, those that are able to bring things sufficiently into view in order to engage them but at the same time accede to letting them go, assuming other shapes and operations.

Standard forms of detection always assume a truth that is to be uncovered, even if what is detected exceeds the existent terms of understanding. Something needs to be known. So it is not so much a matter of whether the truth uncovered is the truth, but rather the self-confidence of detection to generate a sufficient reason, to reiterate itself the definitive method for establishing the basis for decision.

But as Rob Coley illustrates in drawing upon the classic film noir, the detective is less interested in the “real story” than in trying to work out the unanticipated complications that the pursuit of the mystery has unwittingly thrown up.  Detection seeks less to uncover complicity and conspiracies than to detach itself from the accruing story. It is more interested in the tactics of ensuring that things do not come to light, for to understand the crime to be solved means seeing how the crime has permeated into all aspects of living, and how the transparency of detection might leave nothing in its wake.

Of course this is familiar to us through Jean-François Laruelle’s notions of generic detection, where the objective is not to find the relations among things, not to put together all of the clues and various into a sufficient explanation, but to stay with insufficiency. Where the proportions cannot be worked out.

Why is this important? Because across urban districts around the world, thousands of stories of adaptations, risks, ventures, retreats, and retooling are emerging that are need to be told and heard in their own emerging terms. That need not be reduced to levels of compliance and suffering. That need not be reduced to the proportion of populations obeying orders. This is not a critique of pandemic policies or a valorization of the disobedient. But in the inevitable work arounds of spatial segmentations and categorization of whose work counts there are experiences that don’t fit into any yet common language, that need to be detected as blips, glimmers, and glitches, possibly emerging into some more elaborated vernacular, but also perhaps just disappearing without trace.

Detection here then is not the method through which individual and populations are subsumed into a system of proportionality—more or less healthy, more or less immune, more or less eligible, more or less valuable. Instead, it points to a space or composition capable of holding within it things and processes that may be related to each other, or not; where what something is may be multiple, but that it does not owe its existence to how it is positioned within a network of multiplicities, through which it accorded particular statuses and potentialities. This is not dissimilar to Fanon’s point that the wretched are an infection at the heart of colonialism, but an infection, that while being localized, is also immune to definitive detection.

Here, rather, is a detective that discovers within his or her “beat” a “real” that is “this one, right now, right here” and which has no definitive connection to anything else. But by doing so, such detection levels the playing field, renders something no more or less important than anything else, and thus avails it to unthought of (so far) courses of action. One could see detective work as a form of rendering, of making things (up), of making something available to a particular (wider) use, of putting things in people’s hands that they didn’t have before or couldn’t imagine using. Less uncovering than rendering, detection then is a way of keeping things moving along, of telling stories that extend a person’s relationship with the world, rather than detection being the grounds to legitimate the removal of persons from worlds.

What do therapists do if they think their patient is going to hurt themselves? Do they call 911?

It depends. If a therapist has reason to believe that a patient is going to hurt themselves, they have to take some kind of action. You might not realize this, but if a therapist’s patient dies by suicide, the therapist can get in huge legal or professional trouble if they can’t prove that they took reasonable steps to prevent it. I worked in a setting where, unfortunately, several of my clients took their own lives, and we were formally investigated after some of those deaths. We had to prove that we had documented all warning signs and instances of suicidal ideation, and that we had taken reasonable, proportionate steps to address the issue every time. A large part of my job was just writing down the interactions I had with clients, in case our records were subpoenaed by a judge and we needed to prove that we hadn’t been negligent. A therapist does not have the option to just ignore the situation - they have to act, both out of genuine concern for the patient’s well-being, and because they have a professional, legal and ethical duty to protect their clients’ physical safety, with huge consequences for neglecting that duty.How a therapist will act really, really depends on the individual circumstances, the therapist’s training, and the resources available in your area. I can’t make any guarantees here, and there will be lots of exceptions to what I’m about to say. In general, though, a therapist will assess the amount of danger that a client is in, and try to accommodate the client’s wishes whenever possible. If the client doesn’t seem to be in severe danger of going home and immediately making a suicide attempt, then the least invasive option is to work with that client to try to find a way to keep themselves safe, at least for the night. They might work with the client to come up with a safety plan, have the client sign a “contract” agreeing not to harm themselves, and come up with a list of people that the suicidal person can contact if they are feeling particularly low. The therapist will probably walk you through the exact details of what you are going to do when you leave the office and have you plan everything out in exact detail to ensure your safety - “when I leave here, I will drive my car straight home. I will heat up a frozen pizza for dinner. Then I will watch X show on TV. If I am feeling bad, I will call A. If they don’t answer, I will call B, etc, etc.”. If a therapist can feel confident that the client can keep themselves safe in the immediate short-term, this is the option they are most likely to choose - it’s the least invasive, and it gives the clients the most autonomy. This is how the vast, vast, vast majority of my suicidal clients have been handled. If a therapist is not confident that a client is able to keep themselves safe, that is when they would start to discuss the idea of going to the hospital. In normal circumstances, this does not mean that a therapist sneaks off to the bathroom to call 911 when you aren’t looking - usually, a therapist would have an open discussion about their concerns, and why an assessment at the hospital (or in another setting) might be a good idea. Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of people admitted to psychiatric hospitals are there voluntarily - a lot of times, when a client is severely suicidal and feels unable to keep themselves safe, their fear of the hospital becomes a lot less important than their fear of themselves. A lot of times, patients will voluntarily agree to check themselves into the hospital or go to the hospital for a screening after talking over their questions and concerns with a therapist. How you actually get there depends on where you are - if you are in a therapy clinic attached to a hospital, your therapist might just walk you over to a different wing. If you are in an outpatient treatment center, they might call the hospital to come pick you up. If you live in a large urban area, there might also be a crisis mental health team that your therapist can call - this is usually a team of interdisciplinary mental health professionals who will come in, and specialize in assessing patients and, if they deem it necessary, transporting patients to the hospital in an unmarked car for privacy and dignity. I have worked with mobile mental health times many times, and they are wonderful for severe cases. Unfortunately, they do not exist in many areas. Generally though, if a therapist feels the need to bring in other mental health professionals for a client’s safety, they won’t call 911 - they will have contacts at local psych hospitals and call them directly for assistance.In extreme cases, though, a therapist may contact 911. If a client is very, very suicidal with immediate and serious intent to follow through, and they are unwilling to consider other options, a therapist might be in a position to call 911. If a client drops by the office and tells their therapist that they just came to say goodbye because they are going to go kill themselves, and then physically runs out of the office, that might be an instance where a therapist dials 911. I’ve called 911 on a suicidal client once in my career so far. I caught her in mid-suicide attempt in the women’s bathroom at the mental health center I worked at, bleeding everywhere and high on methamphetamine. It was easily one of the worst experiences of my life. My workplace made a point of not calling 911 on our clients whenever we could avoid it, since many of them were over-policed minorities who had had extremely negative police interactions, but this was an extreme case where we had no choice. The girl absolutely did not want to go to the hospital, but it would have been beyond negligent of us not to call 911. The paramedics who turned up were wonderful, thankfully, and the young lady in question is alive today. But it’s a tough situation. And no one ever wants to have to be the one to make that call. This isn’t an easy situation, and no one ever wants to be in it. Therapists with seriously suicidal clients have a lot of things to juggle. They are in a position where they have to make predictions based on incomplete and sometimes unreliable information, knowing that there are literally life-and-death consequences for screwing up. No one wants to disrespect a client’s autonomy. And no one wants a dead client whose death could have been prevented. More than half of all psychologists and psychiatrists will lose a client to suicide at some point in their careers, and the guilt can make some mental health professionals overcautious. I work with a very suicide-prone population - before I’ve even finished graduate school, I’ve already worked with 5 young people who have taken their lives, all of them under the age of 23. It’s hard to predict how a therapist will react to a suicidal client without knowing how much danger the client is in, what the therapist’s personal history is, and how comfortable they are with local resources. In general, though, I can say that most of them will try to exhaust all non-invasive options before making that choice to go over your head. Hope this answers your question.

This brief is going to be a challenging one for  myself as architecture isn't something I particularly find interesting.

I looked into some photgraphers who shoot the modern style buildings similar to the ones i will eventually be shooting. Through this I tried to find inspiration and attempt to find interest in the subjects .

Janie Airey 

A photographer who photographed arenas and important buildings which held importance in the 2012 olymipics . The photgraphs produced showed the colour palletes seen and used throughout these Olympics and incorperated this into the photographs they took . Making the arenas look smooth , clean and professional . The example given shows the use of pattern through a simple subject of chairs within the complex , something not usually noticed by sports fans but capturing the eye of a professional photographer .The lighting suggests that this building may have a lot of windows to let in the bright sunshine .

Nick Guttridge 

A well known photographer known specifically for his commercial work I was inspired by the way he photographed the buildings chosen . combining both geometery and angles to creating a fine art like photograph of such interesting modern architecture.In the example there is no people but in other work he does include people to show that buildings are made to be lived in .From this I took into consideration the possibility of including people in my photographs for this brief .Here I think the photographer has only just caught a little of the sunshine as I can see a glare on the left hand side window , however the grey sky isn't appealing in this photo.

This work to me has really taken into consideration how the architect has built this structure . Through taking into consideration the details within buildings we see them like no one else has , showing the artists eye for detail .Putting together both interior and exterior photographs can sometimes feel very commercial but here it is like a pure , clean and soft tour of these stunning buildings.

Fernando Guerra 

Known much more for his exterior photographs Fernando is always being recognised for the photographs he takes . Taking images mainly of white images he captures the simplicity of the structure he chooses to photograph. The example shows how using people could work well when photographing buildings , making it more interesting with experimenting with shutter speed.

Here I chose to show His exterior work but this photographer is also well known for his exterior images and how they raise environmental awareness . This photograph taken from below shows detail and lines which make up and hold the  building together . Using the lighting provided by the building is pretty hard I imagine but here is is done so effortlessly to show how the building compliments itself .

perspective and distortion control :

1.Photoshop lens correction filter - This allows you to coreect the distorted image of a building though simple sliders given to you by phootshop . However, it is to be noted that if the top of building in the image is too close to the top edge of the image then you will struggle to make the subject parallel .

2. Using a wide angle lens - This allows you to photograph a bigger area and also allows you to show the building to a accurate scale .

3.Pre edit -  Vertical distortion happens when the plane of your camera’s sensor is not parallel to the the object you’re shooting. The easiest way to prevent the distortion is to keep the two things close to parallel, and this means minimizing camera tilt. If possible, find a high  point that lets you shoot while tilting up as little as possible . Trying compositions from farther away may also help .

4. Tilt shift lens - These are expensive but help to make perspective corrections without losing any data or pixels from the photograph . Well known and professional architectural photographers use these as they need every pixel they can get.

5. stitching - This technique involes you taking several photographs of one building in sections then in post production “stitching “ them together to make on final photograph . This can be time consuming but also rewarding in the end .

I have not yet found a location for definite but have considered the newest Scottish modern building which is the v&a in Dundee . Due to the bright and airy space the architecture has built and the amazing shapes, patterns and leading lines it would give to me to photograph . However, this is quite far away from me and I would need to ensure a bright day as well as a good time scale to photograph this building .

Even very old paradoxes, like Zeno's paradoxes or Sorites paradox, rely on a fairly advanced understanding of quantity and divisibility and couldn't have emerged all that much earlier than they did. What new paradoxes will this new century produce?

By contrast, if someone does not have the time or the disposable income or the interest or the energy to pursue art for the sake of its long-term enrichment value (that is, difficult art), they'll simply listen to whatever's convenient on the dial and whatever they like without having to think about it too much. To judge someone for taking the path of least resistance when it comes to the art/media they enjoy is to (at least in some cases) judge them for their lack of time, money, or energy to invest in more difficult art, which is classist. (By the way, this even assumes that taste-makers gravitate toward more difficult art, which is not necessarily the case. Quite a lot of "good taste" is, from a perspective of several decades on, fairly arbitrary and myopic.)

6. Another note on taste: Hume believed in the subjectivism of taste but not absolute relativism -- that is, that bad taste is characterized by how personal and erratic ("capricious") of a judgment it is, whereas good taste is characterized by more stable judgments. And since good taste is more stable, that means that the taste of people with aesthetic education tends to converge as aesthetic education increases. But what does that mean? Isn't that just a form of groupthink? Take a look at music criticism or film criticism or art criticism, and you'll find that it's not a bunch of people laboring in isolation. The canons of music, art, film, and the rest are generated by consensus, through the work of thousands upon thousands of contributors, all pointing each other incrementally toward what they value. Once upon a time you couldn't just mention the holocaust in a comic context without a damn good reason. Same thing goes for other shocking and tragic stuff, like childhood cancer, slavery, AIDS, rape, or blackface (for instance). But nowadays, it's acceptable and mainstream to casually mention such things in passing as a way to amplify some other aspect of a joke. I propose that we ought to be somewhat more concerned about this. On the one hand, it might be slowly wearing down our ability to take serious things seriously. But on the other hand, we need to recognize that our ability to be flippant about something horrible or tragic expresses a form of privilege. (Louis CK is, of course, far from the only comedian to do it. Many comedians do it, and many people who aren't comedians do it, too. I've done it.)

Politically Correct - Is it Correct?

Politically Correct - Is it Correct? The way I spend my days is making sure everyone in and around my life are doing well, trying to be productive and taking care of daily commitments.  So I need to ask... who has the time to dive into elements of society so deeply.  I keep looking more and more at the news and wonder who it's produced for.  Everyone is making an effort to be politically correct -- Is it correct. I don't care what your background and preferences are.  I like everyone who is a good person.  In fact, one of my little quirks is wondering why people choose the work they do and to learn about all the things I never knew goes into the job.  Whether service or product, I want to know more. Two Nights Ago I was flipping through channels and ended up on Tucker Carlson.  Why? Because there was a banner on the bottom of the screen regarding taking the word man out of the English language.  Why?  Because it is offensive.  Every word that has the derivative man in it needs to be changed. Yup,  a professor in Indiana (I think that's where it was) determined this need for language change.  So we should no longer be humans.  We are now hupersons.  There are no congressman or woman.  Only congresspersons. Apparently every word or thought that is not gender neutral is offensive.  First really?  This is the most important thing to accomplish in the world. So if I'm having a child and someone asks .. are you having a boy or a girl?  I'm supposed to say. "I'm having a person." Once I have this person, he/she will have different needs.  So how do we handle this?  The book that's supposed to teach children about the potty.   How do you teach a person with different anatomy to be gender neutral? Someone please enlighten me? Race inequalities Aren't we passed this?  The statistics have changed.  People of every shape, size and color accept everyone.  Differences are appreciated and  judgement is gone for all.  The majority isn't defined by difference; it's defined by sameness. However, there are a small groups of people that try to keep this idea active. In my opinion, by doing that, you actually create a problem.  Most people really think ... if you're not judging me, I won't judge you.  If you're nice to me, I'll be nice to you. Does it really have to be this big a deal? Small Groups With Big Voices There are people in this world that have  situations or tendencies that are less common that others .  Most are a fraction of a % of the US, let alone, world population. Should they be respected?  Absolutely!  Should we change our whole culture and government allotments to accommodate the few over the many? What About the Many? A month ago, I was watching the news and saw that the State of New York is going to give free college tuition to DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). So, if I am a US citizen and live in NY State,  I have to pay or take loans to finance my education, but a non-citizen gets a free ride? I can't believe the people in the State aren't having a fit. No loan forgiveness for most citizens?  No special financing for citizens? How did this happen?  I absolutely feel the DACA people are in a quandary. It's not unsolvable.  It's actually simple.  If you want to be a citizen, you enter the legal process to become a citizen.  Maybe there is a temporary green card to give time to get through the naturalization process and you're good. Someone has to be able to do the math to figure out how to set levels to mix them into the existing naturalization plan.  That doesn't seem too hard. Could it be as simple as get rid of the lottery system and replace these spots  with the DACA people? The question then arises about their family, who are also here illegally here.  Well, then there is a choice to make.  Can they try to naturalize?   If not, they made a choice. Why do I have to make choices about how I spend my resources and manage my family, but others do not? The Silent Majority and Our Elected Officials I cannot imagine the pressures and people trying to sway their interests everyday. However, the novel idea  (that shouldn't be novel at all) that is emerging is having these public servants making things easier for the majority's needs proportionately to the minority.  Again majority is by mindset and needs, not any other definition. Things need to be prioritized.  The two party system no longer working. It's just too partisan. The reason the silent majority are silent is because the minute  they something, they are labeled all kinds of things.  Because of that they keep quiet. They know their voices will be drowned out. Every so often I watch a topic closely.  And you can literally see officials flip flop for political gain. Let's go back to DACA as an example.  Everyone agreed on tenets of what can solve the problem.  However, it is more important to not solve it as some believe it will create an advantage for the mid-term elections. So DACA stays in the news and diverts attention from North Korea, celebrating the Olympics or just telling a positive new story. Do you know where I get most of my warm fuzzies?  From posts on Facebook.   If you want a heart warming story there are tons posted there. People Without a Clue - Politically Correct? I still don't know the definition of misconduct.  The few men I have spoken to about this have said they don't know where the line is. Some are saying they don't want to hire or work with women because they are afraid of what they could be accused of. Others are considering making date ground rules to avoid accusations later. Can you imagine? Hi Jen. I'm looking forward to our date tonight.  If it is going well and you'd like a kiss good night.  Please let me know.  Now, if we kiss and it is a pleasant experience, please raise your right hand.  I will ask if you would like me to walk you to your door or we can just meet separately and avoid any awkwardness later. There's a chance our society is going to die out. People can come forward years later.  Even after things have been investigated to the hills and say they were violated.  And in their perspective they probably think they have been treated badly. But what is abuse?  What is misconduct and what is permissible at one point in time and then not so years later?  Now no one knows. And what is abuse?  Has that definition changed too? When I was in college, I thought one possible profession for me was to be a psychologist or psychiatrist.  My summer internships were at different departments in the county's social services.  One summer was adoption and undercare.  Another summer was child protection and a third summer was mental health. With this and other experiences in my life, I have had the humbling opportunity to see what real abuse is. Sit in a family court room for a week and see what real abuse is.  Spend a day with a social worker and you'll see what real abuse is. As an intern, they only expose you to the most mild of cases.  Here are four quick stories that made me throw up after.   I wish I knew how their lives all turned out. The Sugarcoated Versions of These Stories 1.. Give the Child A Chance: A child had a a traumatic head injury from his dad harming him as an infant.  From 6 months to 3, he lived in a loving foster home.  The foster family wanted to adopt him. His biological family would not relinquish him. Every week I had to take this well groomed, happy child to his parents, where four adults and 3 dogs lived in one filthy room.  The child would cling to me the whole time.   They had no idea how to connect with him.  When the child saw me, he would cry and hold onto his foster mom, because he knew where he was going. 2. Emotional Care vs Convenience: An 11 year old had, he, and his 12 brothers and sisters put into foster care, because the parents couldn't afford to take care of them.  Once they got on their feet, they took all the kids back but the 11 year old.  He kept running away from foster homes and return to his family.  To stop this, they put him in a mental institution.  There he had whole new challenge.  It changed him into a cynical and paranoid individual  I won't  write the things I saw there.  Let me tell you; it is beyond anything you can imagine. 3. What's the Return Policy: A 7 year old adopted child was returned to social services after 3 years with his family.  Prior to the adoption he had a drug addicted mom and was left alone to take care of himself from 18 months on.  He was completely neglected and abused.  Again, beyond your imagination. His return to foster care was not because he had issues.  He was a sweetheart.  Not because the family couldn't afford to take care of him.  He was returned because too many people said he didn't look like the rest of the family.  Social services tried to help the family come to terms with their decision.  It seemed they were successful. Then the family went to a church event where it was mentioned a few times.  (The irony isn't missed that this happened at a church event) That's when they moved forward to returning him. They didn't tell the child that he was going back to foster care.  The social worker, who I accompanied, had to.  The child's suitcase was packed and they called him downstairs and he was told.  He cried harder than anyone I've ever seen.  Screaming mommy, daddy as I carried him out.  I sat in the back of the car with him and he held on to me so hard.  He was brought to a temporary home for the weekend and then the next week he'd go to a more permanent foster family. We brought him into the foster care house and he wouldn't let go.  He was devastated.  After a half hour, the social worker felt he had acclimated enough and we could leave.  He was told we were going and he grabbed my leg and didn't want me to leave. The social worker separated him from me and had me leave first.  As we pulled out of the driveway, he was in the window watching and crying. I still remember his face as if it just happened. 4. Murder: The 20 year old who shot his baby in the head: This case was in criminal court.  They wanted me to see how that part of the system worked.  It's nothing like you see on TV. Simply, this young man was making a drug deal and his child began to cry in the back seat as they were negotiating money.  The child wouldn't stop.  So, he shot him.  The baby didn't die immediately.  He died on the way to the hospital.  Thank goodness someone saw what was happening and called it in. After the first crime scene picture, I couldn't look anymore. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with parole option after 5 years. These are the sugarcoated versions of these stories.  Noe you can see why I vomited upon returning home those night. Uncomfortable vs Abuse As I hear people say I was uncomfortable after submitting to an activity to make them rich and famous.  Or, to become rich and famous after the fact. Or, to create a stir to harm someone who is in the public eye. Now, one person, that I'm aware of, refused the uncomfortable incident and didn't become rich and famous.  She made a choice. If someone is uncomfortable they should feel empowered to say so.  And it should be respected.  It also has to be reasonable.  Or it can become a can of worms. I don't know how these lines are going to be drawn or how they will be defined in a policy way. These moments of discomfort only makes it harder for people really abused. Their voices are the ones really unheard.   Humble and Kind I use this every time any controversial subject comes up.  I say this to my kids all the time. “Salice Tihana Feltracco-Pavlić. Mouthful, I know.”

Where and when were you born?

“I was born in... Venice. Not the lagoon part, but the land part. 17th April 1985.”

Who are / were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)

“They’re both still alive, thankfully. Federico is my dad, while Cecilija is my mom. They’re both retired, although they run a little antique shop together to make some extra money, from what they’ve told me. Tourists love that kind of stuff.     Dad... hm... I think---I remember dad was in the military, once. I don’t know if he really joined any war, though. If he did, he didn’t tell me for whatever reason. While I was growing up he wasn’t often present, but he started having more permits due to bad health...? When he hit his fourties, he decided to retire and change job altogether. A fisher. Of all things.” the memory makes her chuckle lightly, though not enough to distract herself. “He’s difficult. Personality-wise. Difficult, stubborn, hotheaded, a typical baby boomer. But he’s also a good man, I can recognize that; while he wasn’t with me during my early childhood, he tried his best while I was a teenager. When I told my parents I wanted to become a witch, I’d expected him to disown me---but he didn’t. So I appreciate that, in the end, he is supportive.” an hum, “Right now, he’s an old man. Grouchier with the years, grumpier as days pass... he never wants to talk to me on the phone, so he says, but he does it anyways. I think we’re pretty similar. We have both... er... difficulty... in speaking about feelings.” (she doesn’t remember the last time they hugged and told eachother “I love you”, like any typical father and child relationship.) “Despite that, he’s still papà. I owe him a lot of things, and I don’t think I’ll be able to repay him anytime soon.     Mom is very different from dad, though. You know the saying “opposites attract”? It applies to them through ‘n through.” again, a small, subdued chuckle stifles. “She’s eccentric, energetic, even though she’s way over her sixties. A goddamn volcano, that’s what Cecilija is. People say that I took from her a lot of my appearance, compared to my personality, who’s more similar to my dad’s---but nobody can deny that I got determination from her. She is a very fierce woman. You literally never want to cross her or get into an argument with her. Slavs shouldn’t be messed with, she’s no exception.     Before retirement, I remember she told me she was actually a writer. Given, she’s never become really famous... but she did publish some books, while she and dad still lived in Rijeka. Poetry, maybe...? I don’t know. I should ask her. When I was a child, she was the one I spent most time with, along with my grandparents, because she didn’t have to go to the office; she worked at home. If I think about it, I can hear her pressing the buttons on the typewriter. Once I started going to middle school, though, she got a part-time job. Baker? Patisserie stuff... she makes really good cakes. My best bet is baker.” perhaps she should try and ask her, sometime, instead of hanging up after the usual “how are you”s. Salice feels slightly guilty because of her general negligence when it comes to her parents.     “We have... a close bond. She knows more about me than I do. When I was a teenager, although not really troubled, I had a lot of thoughts. She was the most understanding when I told her I wanted to become a witch, and helped dad understand that me dating Greta wasn’t such a weird thing. Y’know... Italians are not renowned for being open-minded. Thankfully enough, they didn’t reject my girlfriend at the time.” shrugs, “Other than that, we---we’ve gotten stale over the years, what can I say. We don’t see eachother often. I guess that happens.”     That ended on an oddly sour note.

“I have no sibilings. Mom told me they tried to give me a sibiling, but failed way too many times, and ultimately gave up.”

Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person / people.

“I currently live in central London, which is literal hell when it’s the working hours. I share my apartment with Adona, a... person.” (she’s definitely not a friend.) “I suppose you could say this place is not economic. You know, I’ve moved a lot since when I started gaining money with my second job---I haven’t been living here too long. Considering that it’s quite spacious, about 219 square meters, its price is not for the faint of heart. I’m in a lot of pain whenever I have to pay the rent, believe me. It’s something like 880 pounds per month, especially since it was basically brand new when I signed the rental contract. My income allows me to live with this absurd pricing, but you know; I’d never tell my dad about it. He’d probably have an heart attack.     Actually, I don’t pay entirely myself, as me and Adona split. ...Whenever she has the money. When she doesn’t, I let her pay the bills instead. It’s probably not the fairest economical management, but whenever I try to reason with her it’s like talking to a wall.” her brows furrow, albeit she doesn’t seem to be truly irritated. “Seeing as it’s a big place with a decent assortment of rooms, we live nicely, if I say so myself. We have a large living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, a storage room, even a balcony---and the bathroom, of course. Bidet included. I’m not a fuckin’ barbarian, that’s why I decided to get one.” she still remembers the time she had to explain the landlord why she decided to import a bidet from Italy---and how she felt her jaw drop to know that in England that kind of tool is not used at all. Thinking about it, she’s still shocked. How can people wash themselves in the shower and be satisfied with it? Two times a week?     “As for Adona... she’s such a piece of work. I can’t believe that I let her live with me, at times. There are days in which I want to punch her out of this place, honestly---she literally does not know a thing about order, she’s chaotic through and through, and she has no sense of responsibility. If I don’t leave her a to-do list in the morning, I can be sure that the main room will be completely trashed by all kind of things by the time I get back. Laundry is a mysterious myth, for her: there’s a reason I never step into her room. I did once, and my nose screamed mercy.” she wishes she were exaggerating. “Despite everything, I guess... she’s bearable. Even if irresponsible. She constantly makes bad choices, and while I’m not cut to tell her what to do and not do... I try to be of help when we’re at home together. She’s not my friend, but I wouldn’t lament if I saw her trying out some better, healthier habits. Maybe then I can consider a friendship.”     The avances are still off-limits.

“Technically---I’m a ballister. Lawyer. However you name it.” a groan follows, “Oh, I don’t like it. Never liked the idea in general. But I believed in justice, once. Could be that’s why I pursued those damn expensive studies anyways,” contrary to her seemingly loathsome feelings, Salice can’t say she regrets having lived those years. Maybe because, even if economically miserable, she felt alive. Passionate. Truly driven by determination. Those were the first years as “Ms. Necro”, and despite it all, the memories that linger are fondly regarded by Salice.     “I own a small studio with a friend, Allen. We’re part of a bigger section, of course, because we’re not really... special. Rather, I’d say we’re as average as you can get. Still, you need to make a living, you know? Our economic---so to speak---prices attract enough clients for the activity to carry on. I mostly handle things like divorce, minor assault such as mugging, and... other insignificant matters like precepts. Nothing extraordinary at all. The divorces, though...” the next growl is louder than the first one she’d emitted, expression evidently, openly displeased. “...Talking about this makes me feel uselessly frustrated.”     If she’s technically a lawyer, what is she practically?

“I have to describe... myself? That’s boring.” fingers cup her chin thoughtfully, eyes wandering upwards as if she’s trying to remember what she actually looks like. It takes her half a minute to figure everything out.     “I’m... averagely heighed, about 160 cm. I weigh proportionally to my height, considering that I regularly exercise and keep myself in shape---so I’d say I’m about a bit less than 55 kilos. I’m caucasian, a basic cracker. My hair is some sort of really pale brown-mouse color, I don’t know what it’s called or if it even has a name; while my eyes are green, though more on the dark hue. I typically dress with tailleurs and suits not because I enjoy them, but because of work---my style is more on the gothic punk side. Studs, leather, tight pants, combat boots. As for distinguishing marks... I’d say my tattooos. A magic circle on the back, the moon sign on the back of my neck, and the cross of Lietuvens on my right shoulder.     That’s literally it.
