Last week I wanted Zelina to get taken down and it finally happened -
youtube
But the focus on Zelina's arm that was already in a cast from last week was an attempt at gaining cheap heat - and that did not resonate.
I've seen Bianca Belair get beatdown worse backstage by Damage CTRL. If Zelina can team with Belair when LWO's in a slump, then she can take the same bumps too.

While Maxxine Dupri and Liv Morgan focused on melodrama to keep themselves on screen while not actually wrestling, factions collided from the MMA Horsewomen 2.0 vs. The K.C.'s with Valkyria.

*Right in the gut !

*That purple is poppin'

Though the K.C.'s did their high-flying thing, it was hard to overlook that this program is languishing.
Valkyria should be focused on solo title. The K.C.'s should be hunting for tag team supremacy against "The Unholy ..." whatever.

Yes I'm happy Chance took the pin ...

But any other random group of women sitting in the locker room could have been selected to enhance the new MMA Horsewomen's stable.
Honestly, Valkyria and the K.C.'s just don't have good chemistry for this alliance and I believe that WWE Creative noticed this so they had to take drastic measures and pull Damage Ctrl. out -

who just aren't as strong with Asuka on the bench and Bayley off with the title.

I just think it is too early to start planning for Survivor Series when it's Summerslam week.

spEarz2DaStreetz Takes On Wrestlemania 41 : Cargill d. Naomi

The first night of Wrestlemania in Paradise featured an epic grudge match between Jade Cargill and the newly turned heel Naomi. Cargill won off of performing a trio of Jaded's that would put Beth Phoenix to shame.

The match started off with plenty of hair pulling, something unearthed from Naomi's Diva era, fitting since she probably hasn't got this much jeering since her B.A.D. days. Eye-raking and stepping on toes accompanied Naomi's new clothes, along with some fresh armbar techniques that I had yet to see, such as when early Naomi used one of her knee's to trap Cargill in the lock.

The DDT off the mat to the outside was picture perfect, though it was intended so Cargill would not be able to attend another family photo with her respective ilk.

Selling throughout the open, it was only right the momentum shifted as Naomi ran into a backbreaker - draped over Cargill's knee, a deserved spot for the brat Naomi has been brought out to be at Wrestlemania 41.
Naomi kept trying to fell Cargill with a neckbreaker from the top, but Cargill kept catching Naomi and converting Naomi's signatures into various suplexes of her own. Naomi went for a roundhouse, ended up getting hit with a big pump kick.

Those suplexes gave Cargill ample time to taunt, but that cockiness led her to the top rope only for Naomi to meet her with a bulldog followed by a moonsault good for a two count.

A superkick woke Cargill up to the notion of ending things quickly. Cargill attempted Jaded and Naomi flipped Cargill's finisher into a cradle pin good for another two count. Unsatisfied this pin attempt was then converted into an octopus hold. Jade powered out of Naomi's lock and put Naomi a fireman's carry, Naomi scouted the drop and went for a kick, which Jade in turn scouted and put Naomi over her shoulders for a piggy back ride of sorts, dropping her for two. Undettered, Jade scooped up the stunned Naomi for Jaded and so ended the story of how Jade got her lick back at Wrestlemania.

The big question is now, will that story continue? Though Jade decidedly didn't add any extra malice against Naomi after the match, there is still room for Naomi to harbor resentment an react in the coming weeks with underhanded attacks for vengeance against Jade for now embarrassing her in Paradise.

I would like to see the story extend to Backlash personally. Ending this grudge with a stip match would be great, maybe add in Belair for a triple threat - but I am satisfied with how this played out and with the masterclass that Naomi put on. She flipped from having the crowd cheer for her to jeer at her in less than a season with such a big payoff at wrestling's biggest stage while putting over Cargill, a bonafide star who still has room for improvement despite her list of successes.

An excellent exhibition of what a couple of Florida girls can do in a ring. No wonder why I keep going back to the state of the Gators.

AEW REVOLUTION 2K25 #CVReview

"With my fist wrapped in gauze - dipped in glue and glass …" Royce Da 5"9 once threatened on Eminem's major label debut. Almost thirty years later Toni Storm took a page out of Royce's book and delivered on that threat for her Hollywood Ending match against Mariah May to retain the AEW brand's women's world title. Starting off outside the ring with a big senton, Toni Storm ended up being the first one to have some color on her face when May slammed Storm's head on the steel steps. Initially the injury didn't look too severe, but then she started gushing. It's honestly fascinating how arguably, May suffered more damage than Storm but did not come out with barely a stain. That's not to say she wasn't opened up with plenty of color - just a work of genius how she barely got any kroovy on her clothes by the end of the hotly contested match up. The match mostly relied on weapons, May pulling out a chainlink, Toni pulling out a broken champagne bottle, the big gold being used to whip Mariah back into fighting shape, as if she ever left it. And if all this was not enough, the environment (since mostly this contest took place outside of the squared circle) was the most damning of weapons. Unavoidable and all encompassing, every fall after a heavy signature from either corner amplified the pain, and the women sold marvelously to the point where sympathy was demanded and a match stoppage would have been warranted. But in May vs. Storm with the Hollywood Finish, neither quarter was given - and when May finally got sent through the table of my birth cities gregarious welcome sign, Cinderella still stayed royalty even after both heels were covered in blood by the end of the night. Unashamedly, I love to pick from the low hanging in women's wrestling and go in on the "blonde of the month", but by god, even I cant deny that at Revolution 2k25 - Mariah May and Toni Storm put on a clinic.

I still believe that if Mone' put her NJPW Strong title on the line against Momo Watanobe, the match would have been more belivable. Mercedes looked relaxed as she spent more than half of her time in the ring taunting the challenger from the H.A.T.E. region of the Starverse. Pulling off a sliding Backstabber late in the match as well as multiple Meteora's that bounced Momo's head off the the top turnbuckle like Angel Reese picked it up from off the backboard, Momo didn't have any moments of offense that stood out in comparison to Mercedes as she played the classics clad in a leotard, black and white like a 50's T.V. screen. All Momo really did was halt The Three Amigoes, mock the taunt of Mone', and break out of a few of Mone's holds while getting Mone' to Brazilian tap one good time; but when it came down to the final seconds of the opening match, Momo succumbed to the Bank Statement and Mone' walked out of Revolution 2k25 another day as TBS Champion … while Billie Starkz looked on. Starkz taking notes throughout the match was an annoying sight. There are many women (Brianna Bandz, Mia Friday, Ameerah Lopez, to name a few) that are in the same age group as Starkz and are far more entertaining than the Minion on her best day. The most she can hope for is a losing effort in a Proving Ground match with the 4 belt icon. There is levity that Mone' is the best TBS champion in the history of the title. Even though she is defending against a slew of mid-carder's (unlike Jade's run against a bevy of jobber's), it isn't as if she shies away from women who have (or had in Starkz' case) a taste of gold. Still the way the women are booked against Mone' they mark out. The biggest annoyance of her soon to be storied run. But someone has to kiss the canvas at the end of the night, and with a contract like the CEO's, no revolution's were staged at the 2025 Revolution nor should there be in a future as near as whenever Mone' decides to accept Starkz' challenge.
Leave it up to Mone' to make the status quo look so good.

spEarz2DaStreetz : RAW (9th/Dec.2k24)

*Liv is doing everything but defending the World Title. Everytime she raises it, shit's a disgrace.
What does she have to do with PFC beef?
Isn't Io battling against Jax for the WWE championship?
Liv's involvement here is fucking pointless and a bad reminder of how little Liv has defended the World title during this reign.

Zelina definitely should have won the triple threat, not Lyra.
Why WWE Creative keeps Lyra opportunities, I have no idea. She is not the second coming of Becky Lynch.
I give a damn about a Euro on Euro match with Alba Fyre.
I swear Vega had a pinfall over Nile early in this match before Lyra scored.
WWE Creative betting on the wrong horse.
I haven't ever seen a Lyra figure in stores, but Zelina sells.

Sp3arz2DaStreetz(10th/Jan.2k24)

Naomi taking that L to her cousin-in-law was expected. Unsurprising.
I didn't even remember that she was tag champion, even with all the involvement behind Bianca Belair.
Belair and Stratton were the MVP's of this match - even before Stratton got the belt.
With Mone' grabbing four belts over the weekend over at NJPW (showing just how "Strong" she really is), if Naomi would have

walked out with two belts and Stratton would have lost that briefcase, 2025 could have started with a bang. Now, SD's women's division is flirting with iboredom.
Tiffany isn't entertaining, her bubblegum gimmick is already being handled by Green with the U.S. Title and she already has a solid program with Michin.

Turning Naomi's accolades into teflon by adding another belt to her history should have been the move.
I'm not looking forward to seeing two debutant's holding gold at the start of Smackdown's 2025.
NXT is looking to follow in the same footsteps as it's older brother and sister brands too with Vaquer now the no.1 contender for the NXT championship directly after the title just was dropped by Perez.

Simply put, Jordan could have walked out with that award. Instead she ended up being the workhorse, taking all the bumps, and eating the pin.
For once the AEW brand has turned things around, giving indie star Hao a shot in a losing effort at a Proving Ground match
keeping Velvet in a deserved, protected role.

And before Mone attained her latest pieces to add to her jewelry box, Athena got the screwjob of the week, while Persephone held it down as the favorite -once that stupid lucha mask came off.
I expected the screwjob to happen for the Mercedes match.
Hats off to AEW for putting together an inter-brand ppv and overpowering WWE's attempts to move backwards to their status quo.

Pulling out the Undertaker to raise Ripley's hand after the World Title just went back to her is far from special.
WWE now has an all caucasian title block while AEW's is majority negroid.
It's a great move on AEW's part to flip the lackluster support that they've been suffering over autumn of 2024.
As soon as Mone' got rid of Kamille and started going to back to Japan to defend her Strong title, AEW's stock went up.
Red Velvet got away from Zaddy, started tapping into her Latin roots over at CMLL and now ROH is up.
Athena is still holding it down, while Mariah May is doing what - promos?
Yet she has the AEW Title.
So it isn't as if AEW's DEI moves are honest, because if that was the case Aminata would have been had that title instead of coming back to ROH this week with a blonde wig.
So even though I congratulate AEW this week, I dont want to see Mone' vs. May for the brand title, because I dont trust the people who own the AEW brand.
Last thing I want to see is Sasha get knocked like Sonic for all her rings.

Parker d. Sinclair (NXT Dec.17th/2k24)
The outside interference between factions and Sinclair's hungry ass cheeks were the highlight of the match. This would not necessarily be good if Parker wasn't such an attractive golem - well she'd be Nia Jax.
Jaida looks good stumbling around the ring, with unconscious hip attacks but that's the issue - she just stumbled her way to a win.
Parker needs more finesse, and from the looks of this match, Sinclair is the perfect dojo dummy.

spEarz2DaStreetz Takes On Wrestlemania 41 Night Two - Triple Threat For The World Championship :
The second night of Wrestlemania ended on a flat note. Opening the show was the triple threat for the World title. Bianca Belair entered in Hogan red and yellow with a group of double - dutchers jumping rope made to look like Belair's hair led by her step-daughter.

The match had Belair play the role of workhorse - initially using Io as a projectile against Ripley and then scouting out the consistent taunting of Io to pull off signatures like a surprise spear.

The 450 splash, every KOD, the neckbreaker showdown against Ripley - all of the biggest spots belonged to Belair. 12 hits in the corner to both her opponents, that hair whip that cracked like a Flair chop on Ripley … what did Iyo have in return? The same old playbook with moonsault after moonsault. Yes, Io's kip-up's were more astounding than Belair's, but I can imagine what this match would have been without Belair and that would have been a contest without flavor. So it took me aback to find that Belair was chosen to take the pin at the end of the match.

When the stats were put up before the match, Belair was put on the board as having the most winningest streak at 'Mania to date. Having Belair lose to Io here is Lesnar defeats 'Taker, but in the women's division. Belair won Elimination Chamber, just to be robbed of a one-on-one match, and be a workhorse at 'Mania just to take the pin? Who had the sit down with Byron Saxton before the match? Who had a spin off storyline that evolved into it's own 'Mania match? I didn't see any member of Damage Ctrl on the card. And Judgement Day been separated from Ripley. What a screwjob this match evolved into.

Ripley deserved to take the pin. Measuring her Riptide against the K.O.D. in this match would make Ripley's itinerary look like child's play in comparison to Belair's moveset.

Moving forward, I'd rather see Belair get into a triple threat program against Cargill and Naomi for Backlash if she does not take adavantage of a rematch opportunity and leaves that to Ripley. If Belair does take advantage of the rematch opportunity and takes the belt off Io at Backlash then I would still want to see a triple threat between her, Naomi and Cargill as late as Summerslam. Io has been known to be booked over Belair at numerous PPV's in the past couple of years. This adds another in a list of slights where WWE Creative has shown that they value Io more than Belair for no reason in particular.

Again, Belair's been trusted as the face of WWE in the recent past while Io cant even deliver a promo because she refuses to naturalize to a country where she makes her living in. No heel turn from Belair. All women were in the ring during the pinfall and somehow Io decided to use Belair for the fall, yet Belair was the only woman in the ring showing evolution in her skillset, the only woman with an extravagant entrance, a press run, and multiple storylines yet she takes the fall?

If only the results of this match could stay in Vegas.

spEarz2DaStreetzTakesOnAEW22nd/Mar.2k25-29th/Mar.2k25
With a special Sunday start time, AEW began it's week with a surprise appearance from Aminah Belmont (who has only been seen in indie programs to date) taking a rub against Harley Cameron. A short squash match, Belmont still gained the audiences approval with her schoolgirl garb and yellow trunks - far more eye-catching than Cameron's run of the mill uniform. Furthermore, this has been the longest that I have ever seen Belmont in a ring. In the indies she typically spends a good amount of time running away from the match towards the beginning to set up her opponent for some underhand shenanigans that will lead to a win. Cameron was having none of that, but Belmont still put up better offense with a ziptie cross elbows attack that could lead to becoming her own signature should this not have just been a one-off for Slam Dunk Sunday. In the comments, the audience noticed the overpush of Cameron. Just how many finishers does she have? And one guy in the crowd looked like he threw up in his mouth once she got her hand raised. Cameron is still a rookie, and even with a losing effort Belmont exposed her. So whether or not this is Belmont's first and last appearance in an AEW ring - at least it was memorable.
As for Saturday's main event with Collision back on it's regular schedule, Queen Aminata was knocked off the main event marquee with a kayfabe wrist injury. Hayter vs. Aminata is proven and would have been an entertaining main event, in comparison to Starkz stepping in for some proving ground match. Serena Deeb came out to cut a promo on Aminata, re-kindling a feud for Aminata rejecting her tutelage as a valet. With Aminata still rebuffing her, this could bubble into a mid-card feud for a couple of weeks that could increase Aminata's win/loss record on the positive side. The only issue with this is will AEW Control even remember this promo long enough to make a full-fledged feud out of this? Only time will tell.
Over on ROH … what the hell was that tag match? First Belmont on Sunday, then Mazzerati on Wednesday. Mazzerati came over from ACW just to get jobbed out on AEW's web show? Not to get it twisted, Mazz was the star of the show - selling corkscrew neckbreakers with the same vitrol as the standard manuevers in Diamante's set. Mazz even took the pin, making her partner Blu, a complete afterthought. It's just disappointing to see this woman be completely nerfed on ROH when in the Caribbean she's constantly in the ACW title picture ! All that's being asked of AEW Control here is for a little consistency.
Which appears to be a gargantuan task to ask for because Aminata is injured on AEW, but over on ROH she's slapping five with fans after taking Viva Van to task ! The match up had two notable even exchanges between armbars and standing blows, but despite Van's strong opposition (mounting Aminata to the floor, forcing Aminata to close her legs around the ropes in a scissorhold to escape a grounded armlock) Aminata still came out on top with her signature dagger kick through the ropes leading to the pin. The only issue I had with Aminata during this match was how weak her german suplexes were. Everytime she used them to take out Van, Aminata would take herself off her own feet as well. Looks like the Queen needs more squats and planks in her workout regiment.
Mercedes Mone should also consider rehiring Mikaze, because I have no idea why she came out to Collision looking like Disney's Stitch or Sully during her non-title bout against Robyn Renegade. Mercedes is right : Renegade has way more heart than Billie Starkz. Five years in the AEW locker room and still not a decent push. No matter that fact, Renegade matched Mone's various knee based attacks and even kicked out of a unique piledriver into a codebreaker.
Ultimately, Renegade still succumbed to Mone's crossface finisher, though the action was not over as Mone' declared for this year's Owen Hart cup, insulting Athena in the promo and prompting the ROH champ to meet her in the ring. A mini-skirmish ensued and Renegade took the flying neckbreaker meant for Mone' to close out the AEW week and let Mone' know she has real competition for the Cup.
I can see Renegade/Mone vs. Starkz/Athena as early as next week, but with Mone' entering the Owen Hart tourney, I for one wouldn't mind seeing the champ put her money where her mouth is and walk out with the Cup and the AEW title come All In. Mone' painted quite the picture with her promo, and this corner of the AEW audience wouldn't mind seeing those dreams become reality.

NXT (20th/Aug.2k24)

Vice breaking her controller with those spinning kicks were crazy ! I find it amazing that with Vice's time in the gym she has found a way to modify her spinning back fist into a format featuring another part of her anatomy.
Speaking of the spinning back fist, Kelani Jordan walking up on Choo for the interference was not the right optic. The way my heart sank in my gut when she caught Vice's hand shows that Jordan is too much of a symapthetic babyface to be running around trying to get her lick back.
She still got her vengeance though by hittingc Choo with the dakimakura in the same fashion Choo took the win.

Standing tall by the end of the match was the right way to end the show. WWE did the North American champion a grave disservice by not airing Jordan's victory pose on the segment.
Something as simple as a champion being shown in victory should be a given by WWE and this mistake of their video team should not be repeated throughout the rest of Jordan's reign.
***
The Gauntlet for the #1 contender for the Women's Championship at No Mercy was strange because the way the playback ran it looked like a Royal Rumble without the over the top rope rule. Then again, I'd rather have a Gauntlet match than another Battle Royale.
Ruca hitting her neckbreaker on Sinclair while Sinclair was busy with her own submission was the highlight of the match.
Ruca and Parker being the final two was such a good idea to the point that I was supporting Ruca who wore trunks that looked like grade school superman drawers.
Parker took the W and if it would have been any other woman to take the pinfall other than Ruca, I would have been all smiles.
Perez came through with a post match promo saying that when she meets Parker at No Mercy that she will prove Parker is "all hype".
This impromptu Gauntlet Match did it's job as it has in the past (Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax come to mind) and has made the NXT Women's Title picture red hot, with even the runner-up Ruca catching heat !
This and the grudge match over the North American title have ignited No Mercy (one of my top 5 PLE's) to being the most anticipated wrestling program for the next two weeks, over "Bash In Berlin" and AEW's Big Four "All In".
And all it took was a interference and a Gaunlet Match - WWE usually goes for a battle royale and botches both, but NXT has capitalized off the trope and the revival of the Gauntlet match as they gain momentum to "No Mercy".

NXT ... But It's ECW *Part Deux
(10 Woman Tag Match / NXT : 6th/Nov.2k24)
How could a ten woman tag match possibly be extreme on a night paying homage to ECW?
Enter the NXT women's division.
Kelani Jordan and Jacy Jayne served as the respective MVPs for their teams - Jordan getting the most high-flying work soaring about the arena taking out the heels several times over

while Jayne served as the workhorse jobber, taking the most punishment from the faces.

My favorite point of this match was the face-off between these two, because how could I pick a side?

But while Jayne spent the match racking up pity points, Jordan showed out since the match started with a jumping Meteora.
I haven't even seen Mercedes Mone' do that.
Giulia commanded so much respect in the ring as did Stephanie Vaquer, making it so easy to hate whatever Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade were doing.

I just couldn't understand why Giulia stayed in the ring for so long when she was getting her first wind. Giulia just doesn't make sense as a jobber, and should be treated as such.

Plus, the viking schtick really works for her. This isn't Valkyrie.

Zaria just might be the closest thing though.
After she crushed Brinley Reece last week, I haven't been big on her and it looks like WWE has got the memo.
She crashed into Jordynne Grace with a spear as she went to get the win without a fireman's carry slam and didn't even pick Grace back up.

A heel turn is imminent for Zaria, and in the case of WWE, the sooner the better. Zaria vs. Grace could headline Deadline, and that's just an early prospect.
Jackson and Legend's mid match cameo was jokes. A great distraction, but I was as hurt seeing them wiped out as whenever Jayne took a hit. They really deserve some tag titles.

For a tag match to be an ECW tribute closer, I still find it to be a strange decision. Thankfully no matter the date or stipulation - NXT's women will always show out as they did to close this show, a great exhibition of those looking to get vetted and vets who it would be a shame to see get called up from WWE's best program today.

AEW (for the week of 14/Aug.2k24) #CVReview
Shida v. Mone' was a fantasy match, and though I was tempted to sleep on AEW this week, I opened my eyes and got to see the fantasy come to fruition.
Was it a clinic?
No.
But, Shida was able to do some unprecedented things as a fresh opponent for Mone', such as letting a Meteora practically phase through her as Mone' crashed into the turnbuckle.
I was disappointed to see Mone' not carry the match, leaving the best spot to go to Shida with a jumping knee in the middle of the ring.
I get it though. Mone's in her "cowardly heel" phase, so a surprise win was up for grabs as Britt Baker's music hit and Mone's enforcer beat up some random in the crowd just because dude had a mask on.
Took me back to my first time seeing Slipknot at The Forum. Fuck LAPD. MAGGOT'S 4 LIFE !
Anyways, Baker came from behind off the distraction and got the best of Mone', leaving Mone's enforcer to pull Mone' away from Baker as she attempted to deliver a mandible claw. The segment ended with Baker taunting Mone' with her stolen TBS title, but All In stipulations aside - I dont mind seeing Mone' go on a run with the NJPW Strong title not the TBS title.
This isn't the "2 Belts Banks" days. Wrong promotion. After her time going from WWE to foreign brands the NJPW title just fits her better, and don't let her get her hands on that CMLL title !
I wonder if Baker's glove is velour? I dig the new glove. The material looks (and probably feels) amazing , as is Mone's new outfit. Looks like after that divorce announcement she's back to bearing navel. I dont know what her ex-Polynesian dude might've had against that, but whatever. Mone' came out the ring and I mistook her for Leila Grey. Whatever she's eating these days, someone needs to keep feeding her.
Just as well the highlighted red was out of Grey's closet and should stay on Mone's head because her hair on "Collision" later on in the week made Mone' look like a trannie. Come on I missed the Dynamite match because Nyla Rose was on there, Mone' don't have me checking for an Adam's Apple after all these years ...
The Baker match on "Collision" was pedestrian against Harley Cameron who looked like she was taking inspiration from Virtua Fighter's Sarah Bryant - just DOA style.
The goofiest spot was after the match when Mone's enforcer, Kamille (damn she came a long way from NWA) flexed on Baker and pushed her once into the apron several feet away and waited several moments to bust a kendo stick in half over her knee.
The dramatic pause just looked like Kamille was bracing herself and Baker was obviously holding herself back. Botched promo, just like the rest of the week where Saraya on Rampage cut a promo (with a very annoying cohort) that couldn't even be saved with Toni Storm doing a solo-Benny Hill impression to set up a match between the two next week.
I skipped May's video promo like the Nyla Rose match and went straight to her 90 -seconds - or - less squash match against Londyn Dior. Wasn't even worth observing.
Matches like that is why I get tempted to just watch ROH and call it a week when it comes to AEW's women's division.

SummerSlam 2k24 #CVReview

From Detroit to Cleveland, location wise for the past two years the Hottest Show of The Summer has been on a roll. Still, the error of the Tag Titles not being contested at The Browns Stadium was felt as only the Women's World and Undisputed Titles were up for grabs for the night completing one story and beginning an unprecedented dynasty for one dominant Superstar, who (like it or not) has been deserving of a moment like this for years.
Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan have been involved in a ridiculous love triangle with Rey Mysterio's legacy.
As a person who's waited over a year for Judgement Day to fall as a faction so Rhea Ripley can get back to pursuing a solo career, I am disappointed that it's taking this romance-angle to finally get Rhea back in the singles division.
Nonetheless eggs must be cracked, and this Summerslam match had a fair amount of Ripley cracking her joints by having to forcibly put her shoulder back into it's socket multiple times.

I cant tell if this was more frequent than Liv running away from Ripley as if she was trying to audition for The Flash, either way these spots were the most memorable for the night in Cleveland between the two.
There was plenty of Liv pushing Ripley into Dominick, Ripley pushing Liv into Dominick and Riptide's that just couldn't keep the champ down.

A quick headbutt from Liv as well as slick shots to set up sending Ripley home from Summerslam on shoulder injury were delivered but the coup de grace came once a steel chair was brought from the time keeper's area (a strange place to grab it from but o.k.) that Dom prevented Ripley from using.

With the chair still on the mat. Dom provided a distraction and Liv planted Ripley on the chair, throwing it out of the ring in time for a three count and a successful retention.
Making out with Dom to further drive home the point, Liv walked out of Summerslam with the title and the boy, leaving Ripley seething.

What was learned from this match other than that WWE is now incorporating dope new POV shots from under the ref's shirt? The Riptide is no longer a strong finisher.
Ripley has now been in the game long enough that she has to reinvent herself complete with a new finisher like Becky Lynch (The Man-Handle Slam) or Nia Jax (The Annihilator).
While she goes back to the drawing board for this, it's best if she considers cutting herself out of The Judgement Day picture too and waging war against a house she helped build.
A program like that can run well into Survivor Series and reinvigorate a new title reign for Ripley just in time for Royal Rumble.

***

The outcome of Jax and Bayley's program for the Undisputed program waa a forgone conclusion way before Roman Reigns made his return.

Height and weight played too much of a factor in this match. Though it was a breath of fresh air to see this iteration of Bayley not play keep away with the title (There was already enough of that in the Ripley/Morgan match earlier that night), Bayley brought the fight to Nia, most notably delivering a Bayley-To-Belly suplex for barely a one count. That was all she had in the tank.

Jax was pouring on stinkfaces, Samoan drops outside the ring that left the champ temporarily paralyzed as well as a mockery of high-flying elbows -

The inteference from Tiffany Stratton was not really needed.

Her cash-in attempt was shut down by Bayley, but she was still lurking around the ring long enough to distract the ref for Jax to deliver two Annihilator's and become the new Undisputed Champion.
Tiffany Stratton hung around to celebrate with Jax and I was waiting on bated breath for her to turn on Jax, but Stratton thought better of it.

Now the Smackdown locker room is going to be treated like jobber's for the next season because ... Bayley.

I am looking forward to a dominant Jax reign though. It will be healthy to see someone other than Mia Yim get crushed every week.
And I can only think that Stratton will be plotting from the sidelines for an eventual and successful cash-in on Jax. I cannot see Stratton holding on to that briefcase for a year. WWE Creative called her up after a year in NXT for a reason.
I mentioned Roman Reigns earlier in this article, because Jax tends to have big fortune-changing moments whenever one of her part-timer cousins are around. With Jax being both Queen of The Ring and Undisputed Champion, now would be a good time for her to become an official Bloodline member.
There are still enough female members in the family to recruit into a female section of the fold.
***
Interference in a pro-wrestling match is a given, but to have this macguffin featured on the only two women's matches on the SummerSlam card was lazy on Creative's part.
The open-air and specialty camera shots from the ref's perspective and the fourth rope, made for a unique experience even from a mobile device -

but these matches still lacked stipulations, color, decisive finishes or big return appearances that would have made this SummerSlam program easy to tell apart from a house show other than the fact that the roof was blown off.

NXT Heatwave 2k24 #CVReview

Even though Kelani had a hiccup when she hit the splits on her intro into the ring, Kelani didn't have any other visible mistakes throughout the match where she retained against Sol Ruca.
The hype package prior to the match expertly delivered a story about two gymnasts (I had no idea Sol Ruca was a gymnast before this or that Jordan was All-American at Michigan State) who are strong NXT prospects vieing for the N.A. title.

The angle of Jordan's "Battleground" where her ladder tipped when she grabbed the belt I thought was telling. Thankfully it wasn't.

The match started off evenly, Until Ruca missed her finisher and Kelani landed a crossbody off the top then missed her finisher that has her rolling through the air like Sonic The Hedgehog.

Kelani easily broke out of two holds from Sol - one full body, the other a grounded claw.

Other than that there wasn't really too many other memorable spots in the match up as Sol did her job to enhance the champ as much as possible while not dousing her fire as she continued to blaze her trail through NXT Heatwave.

***
The NXT Women's title defense between Perez and Vice was a sloppy one. Perez retained off of pure chance, absorbing the enchancement blows of Vice - primarily from her legs and feet.

Vice's mid-match twerk taunts have become incredibly annoying. The match did not turn around when Vice performed a running hip attack, the match turned around when Vice accidentally backhanded the outside ring post.
The whole match was designed around Perez watching out for Vice's MMA-trained backhand, which was a weak gimmick.

Perez rolled out from the backhand attack once and got rolled out the ring forcefully once it connected.
Still, Vice's backhand was not at full strength given the ring post spot and Perez became more and more unhinged throughout the match, trying to further injure Vice's hands and wrists while delivering Pop Rocks in and out the ring - the better spot being with the finisher being hit on the announce table

while the worse spot was the last Pop Rocks which was halfway delivered while Lola Vice visibly took her leg off the rope with force.

No mistake behind that, Vice gave up the match and it did not look convincing. Just sloppy. And that's how you end a weekend in Canada where the WWE Universe will now rethink if they should ever return that far up North of the Border again.
