the drive up to his brothers had been tense. not because they were fighting or anything stupid like that, but just because he cared so much about how christian would see his boyfriend. he was sure that christian would be supportive but it was important that he actually liked him, otherwise he didn’t know what he was going to do.
his parents had never been supportive of his lifestyle, and christian had moved away as soon as he turned eighteen and never looked back, so matt had always been alone whenever it came to his love life. so now that he was out from under his parents thumb and living on is own, he figured if his boyfriend was going to meet his family then the only family he wanted him to meet was his brother.
he parked the car in his brothers driveway, turning off the engine before turning to the other with a small smile. “alright, we’re here. hopefully this weekend doesn’t turn out to be a total bust...”

Matt hadn’t known alena for very long. In fact, they’d only met a couple times before this but Matt didn’t really think anything of them. Sure they were nice, but they were also shy and Matt wasn’t sure if they’d get along just by themselves. So when Matt saw Alena walking by themselves he figured that he’d follow them just to make sure they didn’t wander into any trouble.
Depending on who you ask, him following Alena could be seen as a good thing or a bad thing.
It was good because nothing bad happened so honestly Matt had just wasted a little bit of his time. But it was bad because he saw them doing something that he was 100% sure you couldn’t do if you were a normal human. The shock of seeing them use their powers made him stand completely still, he almost didn’t hear the other speaking to him.
“Are you really going to lie right now?” He asked. Shaking himself out of his haze before continuing. “I saw you do that! I should turn you in for doing that!”

life is fragile– death is not. alena remembered what their mother had said in the few precious moments she spared for nym. they told her of the meadows they hoped to visit. the crowns they wanted to weave. that bright beating breath that pumped through the living realm. they wanted to cradle it. to be a part of it.
glass to concrete. the flower they had been admiring withered within seconds of nym’s gentle touch. a peck to a petal, like a dousing of flood waters to a flickering flame, the inevitable happened. a ceasing.
nym bit their lip, wondering why they thought anything would be different this time around. perhaps they thought the human realm would distill the stench of styx. that stench, it seemed, was weaved into their skin. their breath.
they hadn’t even noticed the being– the human– creeping behind them. the withering plain to see. nym didn’t know much about humans, but they knew that nymphs weren’t welcomed as anything other than trophies. infernal elves, the ones who led humans’ loved ones astray into the underworld, were seen even less favorably.
“i– i didn’t–” they stuttered over an explanation, panic flooding their words.

college was a whole new ball game for matt, full of different opportunities that he didn't have in high school. for one he had a lot more independence: he didn't have to worry about his parents starring over his shoulder as he navigated through his life. another reason is that he can be whoever he wants to be here, far away from the people of his small town that he knew growing up. he never had thought of himself as gay, or at least he never thought of himself as someone who would openly admit that he was gay. he had always liked looking at guys, but coming from a small town he knew he could never act on that.
so when he caught carson staring at him at the gym, he couldn't help but smirk. a nice feeling flooding his chest before he got up the courage to walk over to him and confront him for staring. "do you always make it a habit of zoning out at other guys while they're working out?" he teased, leaning against a piece of equipment. "because you know, you could just take a picture. it would last a whole lot longer."
open to males; my muse is a sub bottom, yours is a dom top - connection; the twinky nerd gets caught staring at the muscled up jock in the locker room.
The locker room had always been a place of dread for Carson. He’d lost count of how many times he’d been picked on in there; mainly for his petite size and his absolutely lack of athletic ability. It was a cliche that he hated, sure; but he couldn’t deny how truthful it was to his own situation. Now, in college, he thought things might be different - and they were, to a point, For one, the men who frequented the locker room were bigger, broader, taller and scarier in the best possible way; and for another, they more or less left him alone unlike back in high school. As Carson got dressed to go out and use the treadmill, he spotted a man across the way. He was the sheer definition of an adonis. Muscles bulged in all the right places; his biceps, pecs completed the picture of a broad-shouldered hunk that Carson, try as he might, couldn’t take his eyes off of. It was inevitable that the other would notice; and that he did. Carson stiffened when there eyes met. “Sorry… I… I was zoning out.” He squeaked, worrying his lips together as the other man sauntered towards him.
