Hi, I heard you liked Spearmaster, I'm begging you please tell me how
Im suffering
Red lizor mean =(
im a bit confused by what this means, but i think youā€™re asking me how i like spearmaster & how i deal with red lizards, so im just gonna go with that!
when i first started my spearmaster campaign, i admit the red lizards scared the SHIT out of me from just how absolutely SPEEDY they were and their spit- but like a lot of other lizards, they can only directly get to you if they have a pole to climb or some pipe thatā€™ll bring them up to your level.
I use this to my advantage when i want to get through an area but a red lizard is blocking the way (and i probably wont be able to kill them)- iā€™ll wait until it goes into a pipe away from me (whilst it does that freakout-thing lizards do when they cant get you) and once it starts heading to me again from another direction or that same pipe, ill speed on by to wherever i need to go while they cant do anything for that time in the pipes.
Ive only encountered them in outskirts, and once in another region, iirc? So I donā€™t really have a set way with how i deal with them, or a way i could tell you how to deal with them- but when i was stuck with one and couldnt just run away (red lizards as much faster than spearmaster), i just kept juking them by re-entering a tunnel over-and-over, and when that red lizard wasnt facing me anymore i kept throwing spears until it died.
sorry if this isnā€™t much- i havenā€™t encountered them enough to familiarize myself with them, and when i play rainworld i tend to either ā€œthink way too muchā€ or ā€œact now, think laterā€ with no in-between (because rainworld is absolutely brutal and will not wait up for me, i tend to just go foot-first in situations and deal with stuff in the moment as it happens)
Otherwise though- i havenā€™t had much trouble with other lizards, dropwigs, etc. My own issues lie in having trouble getting access to their backs so that spears will actually do damage, but when i cant do that, that juking technique i mentioned before where iā€™ll keep re-entering pipes has always worked for me nomatter my location.
Spearmaster is pretty cool when it comes to how they eat too- itā€™s really made me have to go into encounters with enemies even if i wouldā€™ve rather not (as thus iā€™d like to think im a lot better at using spears & dealing with lizards AND vultures). and if you didnt already know, if you hit a popcorn plant with one of their spears, itā€™ll replenish all of your food pips! really helpful for when theres no creatures around but the rain in coming & you need to get in a shelter quick.
overall though i like that guy a lot!! I think compared to the other slugcats ive played (excluding gourmand), theyā€™re a bit slower & their slides dont go as far, but their advantage of forming spears at any time is super neat for getting to new areas by climbing walls with them.
also the whole spear-forming thing in general is absolutely insane to me ive never willingly killed as many scavengers and vultures as i have when i started playing as them LOL
