here's my general characterization of Sirius and Remus eras (tm) early 2000s sirius: slightly cruel, generally focused on as an adult, prankster, reckless, not very serious 2013ish-2016ish sirius: sexy leather wearing bad boy, jack sparrowish, broody but not too broody 2017ish-2020ish: very puppyish characterization, no thoughts head empty 2021-now: "remus let me cry in your arms", dramatic, emotional, very earnest tone to his pov (will do remus in another ask)

yes yes yes to all of this!! this is exactly how i break it up in my mind, down to the specific years.

I joined this fandom around 2016/2017, so my first introduction to wolfstar was when we were right on the cusp of leaving behind leather wearing bad boy Sirius and soft boy Remus, which means my first real experience with these characters was the no thoughts head empty only pretty bottom Sirius paired with a more nuanced Remus who could stand his own ground but still be kind while doing it.

And I'm so glad you remember him, because his appearance was WAY too brief and I think a lot of people forget or just straight up ignore him, but he was and still is my favorite version of Remus!! I also really am loving this new 2020's version of Sirius because as you said, he's so earnest and I think a lot of these fics have him truly healing from his trauma, or at least attempting to, in the process of writing this characterization. We get a fully fleshed out, complex and interesting Sirius, with just a dash of the 2013-2016 era. I love him <3

But yes, I think you've done a great job of capturing all the shifts in their characterizations!! It's so weirdly fascinating the way this fandom changes these characters so completely every few years and almost seem to collectively forget anything and everything that came before it in the process.

It's Time People 'Thugs Of Hindostan' Trailer Out: Amir And Amitabh Clash

New Delhi: Brace your self guys Thugs Of Hindostan finally launches trailer. The trailer will blow your mind. And if you thought the motion posters looked a lot like Pirates Of The Caribbean - Twitter did, anyhow - the trailer couldn't get more Pirates-ey and Aamir Khan's character Firangi Mullah couldn't be more Jack Sparrowish.

The starting of the trailer tells us the epeicentre of the story line- the Thugs are gearing up to fight the East India Company, which came to India to trade but by 1975, the year the film is set in, had begun to rule. Soon, Amitabh Bachchan makes a grand entry with lots of action and dialogues delivered in his signature baritone. He plays Khudabaksh, also called Azad, - Thug commander of the sea. Big B's second is deadly archer Zafira, played by Fatima Sana Shaikh, the determination in her kohl-lined eyes equaled by her skill with the bow and arrow. She means business.

John Clive the east India company commander, played by Lloyd Owenappoints the only thug who can parallel Khudabaksh's war tactics. Enter Aamir Khan aka Firangi from "gaon Gopalpur and zilla Kanpur." Firangi, a conman and smooth talker in the picaresque vein of Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow, infilitrathe tes Khudabaksh's fauj in order to rat out his war plans to the East India Company. Katrina Kaif, who plays dancer Suraiyya Jaan, is the added bonus in the trailer - which team she is on exactly is difficult to tell.

The trailer ends with surprise when the warring of the Thugs confront each other All in all, Khudabaksh sums up the essence of the film in a few words: "Agaar azadi hai gunah, toh qubul hai sazaa. Ab toh hoga wohi, jo hai manzure khudah!" A glimpse of Aamir's epic battle explains his self-confessed nervousness on the sets of the film - he's fighting Big B after all, that too in his first film with the megastar.

The maker's of the movie released the trailer on legendary film maker Yash Chopra's 86th birth anniversary. Aamir Khan shared the triler on his social media account with a caption, "Here come the Thugs! It's a big day for all of us. Missing Yash ji. Wish he was here with us. I hope that Thugs Of Hindostan will make your Diwali a fun and enjoyable ride!"

The movie is directed by Vijay Krishna  Acharya, Thugs Of Hindostan is produced by Yash Raj Films and marks Aamir Khan's first movie with Amitabh Bachchan.
