The perfect novelty dessert for your summer events / whenever / whatever: Ice cream that looks like spaghetti.

Spaghettieis is a German ice cream made to look like a plate of spaghetti. In the dish, vanilla ice cream is extruded through a modified Spätzle press or potato ricer, giving it the appearance of spaghetti. It is then placed over whipped cream and topped with strawberry sauce (to simulate tomato sauce) and either coconut flakes, grated nuts, or white chocolate shavings to represent the Parmesan cheese. Dario Fontanella first created it in the late 1960s in Mannheim. Although it’s not well known outside German-speaking areas, it can be found at some gelaterias and specialty ice cream parlors around the world. Try it at a German Eiscafe, it’s delicious. :)

Second batch of the day!

So, some context. The creator of these avatars had made the Sans' a bit before the Papyrus'. The day the Papyrus' were made public, a small handful of my friends and I went to the creators avatar world and had a fun little photo shoot.

I don't think they have any toggles, except maybe SugarBerry (Swap Sans).

The world has three rooms:

• The main room/spawn point with some Homestuck avatars

• The Trickstertale Room (it is quite brighter in this room than the others, so be careful) with other Trickster avatars (like Nightmare, Error, Ink, and Geno) and a FellSwap Sans.

• The G!FellSwap brother's house that has somewhat their take on the G!FellSwap brothers as well as some of their OCs and a slightly hidden Asriel.

I don't have any pictures of the other Tricksters, but I do have some of the G!FellSwap Papyrus that I'll share at some point. (Might be my next batch)

The Spaghettieis (Classic Pap), Honey (Swap Pap), Red Velvet Cake (Fell Pap), Tomato Smoothie (Classic Sans), SugarBerry (Swap Sans), and Cherry (Fell Sans) avatars were made by SoulSold

Just discovered that Spaghettieis has a well-deserved wikipedia page!

It was actually invented by an Italian guy, Dario Fontanella, in the late 1960s in Mannheim, Germany, and, as everybody knows, Italian ice cream is the best in the world. As is Spaghettieis.

Fun fact: Initially, children who were served Spaghettieis broke into tears because they wanted ice cream and not a plate of spaghetti. 😅

I have a very specific yet seething hatred for food that looks like other food, usually it's cake.

"Realistic Hamburger cake-" GROSS.

"Sweet Pizz-" APPALLING.

"Chocolate hot d-" HIDEOUS.

BUt the worst thing is german Spaghetti-Eis. It's vanilla icecream pushed through a pasta/potato press so it looks like spaghetti. Then strawberry sauce added and topped with white chocolate flakes for parmesan.

No. Absolutely not. Get the fuck away from me you culinary treachery, I will not yield, I will not bow to your delicious deception you frigid fiend! Away with you! May you melt in the burning sun of my wrath until your saccharine sins are sizzling into the flesh of mother earth.

Another random Hitman question. Since it was on sale, I bought a pack of Flutschfinger. Which ice cream does the Hitman fam prefer? Gelato, sandwiches, sorbet, cola ice?

First of all: Flutschfinger are such a strong childhood memory for me - I hope they were delicious!

And what a difficult question, because at first I can imagine everything with everyone. But on second thought, they might have different favourites …

47. He probably eats what you put in front of him when it counts. But if he's allowed to choose, he might have an ice cream sundae that he particularly likes. With lots of fruit on top or some chocolate. There is an ice cream parlour in Italy that serves just the right amount of cream and ice cream. I think he enjoys sitting outside in a café in the quiet hours of his life and having his espresso with a sundae.

Diana. In fact, I can imagine that she's not that much of an ice-cream fan. When it's very warm, she'll probably have a Magnum or go to a special ice cream parlour where they still make the ice cream themselves. But somehow she strikes me as more of an iced coffee type (European style with ice cream and not just ice cubes), should it come to a visit to an ice cream parlour.

Olivia. I can imagine that she likes all these cool ice cream types like Flutschfinger. Or ice pops in general. An ice cream sandwich for sure as well. She probably just loves ice cream in general and would get the craziest flavours. There's an ice cream parlour near me here where you can order currywurst or pizza ice cream. Or beer ice cream. Or schnitzel ice cream with cheese spaetzle ice cream. Olivia would eat it, for sure.

Lucas. In my headcanon, he has a weakness for sweet things. This includes ice cream, of course. But as he seems to be a bit of a cheapskate (he only spends money on useful things and not on luxuries), I can imagine him going to the nearest discount store and buying an XXL pack of some off-brand ice cream. This pack will last him a week at best. He only goes to the café or ice cream parlour when everyone else is dragging him along. And then he might order Spaghettieis.

But now I'm curious to know what you think!!

I'm sure this is a dumb thing to say but like 10 years ago you kept posting about spaghettieis and I wanted it so bad. I'm going to germany next week and I will be doing my utmost to find some. The craving continues.

I want Spaghettieis to be my legacy.
