Hi, I’ve been personally victimized by Brian Murphy. Episode 80 was just oh my GOD. The music choices in that episode were so good, and I’m not over the super raw lines that came out of it. Also that flashback REALLY hit me with how much I relate to Hardwon? Like you said, trans experience, but that feeling of people looking over when you’re being hurt and bullied, and for once, being recognized as who you really are? Even for it to all go back to normal afterwards? Thank you Jake and Murph

We have all been personally victimized by Brian Kevin Patrick “Murph” Murphy and I think I may never recover. The Hardwon flashback was wild because on the surface it kind of seems like the simplest of the three, or even like it’s kind of positive - his life at the dwarphanage wasn’t all terrible, he had the King himself come talk to him and tell him he belonged - but every single part of it was just so heartbreakingly sad. The line about how he should have had a mustache by now? “Looks like a dwarf to me”? The quiet little “yes, sir”s? That was all he had to hang onto for years and years. No wonder he’s so insecure, no wonder he’s still so hung up on Gemma, no wonder he was worried the Boobs would abandon him for someone else when he got turned into a vampire. This podcast is...so much all the time I just want my kids to be okay

4. If you had to live in a region of Bahumia, which one would it be?

Honestly it used to be the Crick and I still would love to spend some time there, but I...would really love to live in Gladeholm. It would be so cool and also like...magical university...the Cricks are there now and it’s no longer a monarchy...

5. If you were a guest for an arc/episode, what character would you make?

I have never wanted anything more than to play a paladin of the Duskmother. And if they wouldn’t want another Paladin I’d play a cleric of the mother. Like, someone who went to her, repented and earned the forgiveness of their god, but then continued to serve her because they wanted to help other people. Maybe a half-elf? 

10. Favorite quote?

Definitely not my favorite of all time, but lately I haven’t been able to stop thinking about “looks like a dwarf to me.”

And also...“Things that don’t belong find a way of belonging when you’re around.” Have cried about that...maybe four times.

Wait did they. Not have ads in the original naddpod eps? Like did they reupload older episodes with ads? Because I have had to hear Caldwell talk about manscapped so many times. Could that have been AVOIDED?!

They get autoadded! So they’ll change pretty regularly. That’s why, like, Balnor appears in ads from before he’s even introduced. I think they used to either just have them at the beginning or just at the end, so it was much easier to skip lmao

I SURE FUCKING DID!! It was so good I literally laughed so hard/so much I gave myself a migraine and they were all so so nice at the meet & greet and Caldwell bent the knee to me and they all signed my paladin spell cards and poster and PHB and it was just. Generally the happiest I’ve been in a Long Time

I finally listened to episode 57 and like,,, who let Murph do that. Stop hurting them they’ve already been through so much.

That episode is WILD because the first thing is. Moonshine finding out she’s half high-elf which is like....funny and then it’s just HARD PIVOT into “you doomed your mother to eternal suffering at Galad’s hands”

Ok I’ve been relistening to a lot of emotional parts naddpod recently and I’m wondering which episode as a whole makes you the most emotional?

I mean, Episode 70 is the best episode in the whole show, imo. We get beautiful emotional beats for all three of them, spanning the WHOLE possible range, and the character work is absolutely spectacular and I did cry many, many times.

The end of 65 also really gets me, especially the Rosa lines...something about the genuineness of that redemption has made me cry literally every time I’ve heard it. 

Other obvious ones: end of 61, 56-58, 35, 39, 20, 29...this show really does the damn thing

I’m going to continue about this campaign cause you’re letting me. There’s this race of aliens that two of the party members are (because space game) and one of their defining features is that they can’t lie or they die (kinda like pre 5e paladins except those didn’t explode). This doesn’t mean they have to be lawful good, though, which is very evident because on of these characters is an ex spy and assassin. He can’t lie if you directly ask if he’s a spy but he’s chill about it.

This campaign genuinely sounds like it rules I want to be in it

Fun facts about the cleric in my campaign: He’s kind of a god, he comes from the planet E-rov (vore backwards), he’s canonically eaten a rock and a table, and only the table gave him poison damage, he met his boyfriend by kidnapping him from a play, he’s one of two party members who’s never killed anybody, he drank from the river Styx, and he’s currently stuck in hell. I’m fully willing to explain the context behind any of these events.

You knew she wasn’t - she doesn’t seem like the type, first of all, and there was something in her voice - but still. Her eyes are deadly serious, and you are afraid to turn to look at Morticia, afraid of what it will do to you if she isn’t as devastated as you are.

A promise is a promise, after all, even if it was made by someone other than you, before you were born. So.
