well, we are only one week into losing our collective shit over a new fandom with a particularly fun and huge sandbox to play in, and there are already several works that have left me floored, gutted, in stitches, etc. the below have been some of my favorites so far:

After Andy fucks off to God-knows-where and Booker rents a sketchy, lowly-lit motel room twenty miles outside of Kathmandu, presumably to get drunk and be depressed in peace, Nicky turns to Joe and asks, “Well, where to next?”

In no particular order:

Aftermath - kibosama (multi chapter, in progress)

Slow burn between Yusuf and Nicolo set after they meet in the crusades. Just them two traveling, learning each other’s languages, finding work as mercenaries, and yearrrning.

under the sea - BeStillMySlashyHeart (multi chapter, complete)

Basically, what if Yusuf was the one who was trapped in the iron coffin rather than Quynh? Fic starts off set when Nile wakes from her dream of someone drowning. Feat. angsty/cynical Nicky who has never stopped desperately searching for his love.

Sense Memory - Kelly (multi chapter, in progress)

Omg I looove this one. Nicky inexplicably loses his memory when he gets shot in the head while escaping Merrick’s lab. Just some angsty pining as Joe longs for Nicky to remember and Nicky is drawn to a man he doesn’t have memories of.

peace looks good on you - uponmountains (one shot)

Half whump/angst, half fluff. Joe suffers a slightly more excruciating torture at Merrick’s lab and Nicky fears the worst. Then in the aftermath of their escape, Nicky and Joe just being cute together.

There Ain’t Language for the Things I Feel - takethisnight_wrapitaroundme (one shot)

Nicky wakes up before Joe in the van scene. Basically a role reversal with Nicky proclaiming his love for Joe, lecturing some homophobes, and being overall a loving immortal husband.

Kidnapping for Dummies - Amiril (one shot)

Some amateurs kidnap Joe and try to ransom him to the rest of the immortals for some tech. “You don’t have him, he has you.” Seriously this one is so funny. Joe is a national treasure.

Shorelines - spaceroots (one shot)

Nicolo and Yusuf contemplate their situation after they stop killing each other. Just love confessions and tenderness.
