What is the real world equivalent of Afterglow/Sunset Savanna?
At first, I thought (hoped, lol) it was South Africa, but I'm not too sure
One of the languages sung in the original Lion King, in fact, the opening line of the movie is Zulu! ("Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba," which means "Here comes a lion, father.") Zulu is one of South Africa's 12 official languages.
The diamond patterns and general style of Leona's clothing are quite similar to that of the Swahili people, although diamond patterns can also be found in traditional Zulu clothing and beadwork.
Swahili, too, is one of the languages spoken in The Lion King and is mainly spoken in countries along the East African Coast outside of South Africa.
However, looking at the background in one of the screens in the actual game (and a background in the event iirc) you can find proteas in the right corner
(Ignore how I circled the hidden mickey lol). But there on the right are pincushion proteas, as well as king, queen, and prince proteas. These fynbos flowers are native to South Africa, specifically the Cape Floral region. They're also South Africa's national flower.
Of course, this is nowhere near the East African coast.
The background also reminds me of fond memories of going to various craft markets or passing by people selling their wares on the side of the road. Woodwork, pottery, beadwork, clothes, baskets, etc were always so fun and beautiful to look at, and you can see those things in the background too.
I don't live anywhere near the East African Cost, I live in the cape, so I'm not sure what local town markets look like there.
So from what I've seen, Yana probably took inspiration from the cultures and countries the two of the three languages in The Lion King, so it's a murky mix of more than one place (which is unfortunate since they're so distinct).
I still like to think it's the twst version of South Africa, though, since we're quite well known for having many unique cultures, languages and traditions in one place, and the Sunset Savanna seems similar.

Laduma Ngxokolo for MAXHOSA AFRICA
Fall/Winter 2015
Laduma Ngxokolo founded South African knitwear brand MAXHOSA AFRICA in 2012. Ngxokolo became interested in fashion design as a teenager when his mother, also a designer, bought a knitting machine for the home. Ngxokolo remarks this move โchanged my direction in life foreverโ.
The two pieces here offer fine examples of the distinctive patterns that run through MAXHOSA, with the confidence of design and craftsmanship dominating the look, emphasizing the Xhosa aesthetic. The black and white shawl, which can be worn in a multitude of styles and shapes, is the first garment that Ngxokolo made to be worn by both men and women. The black and white colourway of the garment brings out the boldness of MAXHOSA design through its inherent focus on the Xhosa patterns, which are reminiscent of Xhosa beadwork. Here, the shawl is paired with red shorts, which was modeled at the 2015 Johannesburg Fashion Week.

UMBHACO
What is Umbhaco โข Umbhaco is a material used in South African traditional clothing for dresses in formal and informal ceremonies. It is extremely durable cotton thatโs made to last. Umbacho can be used for traditional dress, but can also be applied in modern fashion. It is usually black and white.
Part of the rich tradition of umbhaco is the incorporation of beadwork into garments and this has been a major form of aesthetic expression for nearly 200 years. Some beadwork and clothing, such as the long dress, beaded bags, and lacy looking collars worn by some Xhosa speaking people were influenced by white settlers. It was the artists(designers) themselves however, who invented most conventional designs, patterns and techniques used in beadwork. Traditional Xhosa dress is still valued and worn as a sign of respect to the ancestors.

"Afrozeh: A Journey Through Time"
Afrozeh: The Hidden Gem of Cultural Fusion
In a world brimming with cultural diversity, there exists a unique and captivating phenomenon known as Afrozeh. This term, though not widely recognized, encapsulates a fusion of traditions, artistry, and heritage, creating a vibrant tapestry that celebrates the essence of unity in diversity. Afrozeh is not just a word; it is an experience, a journey through the rich and varied landscapes of different cultures coming together in harmony.
Afrozeh represents the blending of distinct cultural elements, resulting in a harmonious symphony that is both mesmerizing and inspiring. At its core, Afrozeh signifies the celebration of diversity and the beauty that arises from the amalgamation of different traditions. It is a testament to the power of unity, demonstrating how disparate cultural practices can come together to create something truly extraordinary.
One of the most striking aspects of Afrozeh is its representation in the realm of fashion. Fashion has always been a powerful medium for expressing cultural identity, and Afrozeh takes this expression to new heights. Imagine intricate African beadwork combined with the delicate embroidery of South Asia, or the bold patterns of Latin American textiles intertwined with the elegance of European couture. Afrozeh fashion is a feast for the eyes, a visual representation of global interconnectedness.
The beauty of Afrozeh lies not only in its aesthetics but also in its ability to tell stories. Each piece of Afrozeh-inspired fashion carries with it a narrative, a tale of the cultures it represents. For instance, a dress featuring vibrant African prints might tell the story of a bustling marketplace in Lagos, while intricate Indian embroidery on the same dress could evoke the grandeur of a traditional wedding in Jaipur. By wearing Afrozeh fashion, individuals are not just donning clothing; they are embracing and sharing the stories of diverse communities around the world.
Beyond fashion, Afrozeh finds its place in the world of art. Artists inspired by Afrozeh often create masterpieces that reflect the fusion of different artistic traditions. These works of art are not confined to a single style or technique; instead, they blend various forms, such as the bold strokes of African tribal art with the delicate brushwork of Asian calligraphy. The result is a breathtaking visual symphony that speaks to the interconnectedness of humanity.
Music, too, is a powerful conduit for Afrozeh. Musicians from different backgrounds come together to create melodies that transcend cultural boundaries. Imagine the rhythmic beats of African drums merging seamlessly with the soulful strains of Middle Eastern oud, or the lively tunes of Latin American salsa blending with the intricate melodies of Indian classical music. Afrozeh music is a celebration of diversity, a harmonious blend that resonates with the universal language of the human soul.
Afrozeh is not limited to the arts; it extends into the realm of cuisine as well. Culinary enthusiasts around the world are exploring the concept of Afrozeh by fusing flavors and techniques from different culinary traditions. A dish might combine the bold spices of Indian cuisine with the rich flavors of West African stews, or the fresh ingredients of Mediterranean dishes with the hearty goodness of South American fare. Afrozeh cuisine is a delightful journey for the palate, offering a taste of the world in every bite.
The essence of Afrozeh lies in its ability to foster understanding and appreciation among diverse communities. In a world that often seems divided, Afrozeh serves as a reminder of the beauty that can arise from unity. It encourages individuals to embrace diversity, to celebrate the unique contributions of different cultures, and to recognize the common threads that bind us all.
In conclusion, Afrozeh is more than just a word; it is a celebration of cultural fusion, a testament to the power of unity in diversity. Whether through fashion, art, music, or cuisine, Afrozeh brings together the best of different traditions, creating a vibrant tapestry that enriches our global community. Embracing Afrozeh means embracing the beauty of our diverse world and recognizing the value of coming together as one.
