my darling child [Hierophant Yeast, my sourdough starter] somehow got contaminated (probably by serratia marcescens, from some cursory googling, although I’m not sure how that happened) so I had to toss my current starter and restart it from my remaining reserves of dried starter and BOY I hope that fixes the problem because I do NOT want to start another starter from scratch
