rant below the break

this... kinda bothered me, coming from a transmasc person who headcanons giovanni as transmasc.

first off, i get how he would be angry at the "ohh giovanni does traditionally feminine things, that must mean he was born a girl" because i HATE that reasoning.

BUT!

i cannot stress enough how FEW people think this about trans headcanons.

the majority of gender headcanons (like mine) are literally just "im [gender] and i like/relate to [character] so i want [aforementioned character] to be [aforementioned gender], like me!! we are gonna match and that is so cool!" aka the reason that i headcanon him to be transmasc...

also, ive seen a lot of backlash from different fandoms with situations like this. yknow, when someone headcanons a male character that is comfortable in their femininity as trans. the reason that i most often see is "but he wore a skirt! a trans man wouldnt wear a skirt!" or something like that. (also not saying jello is like this,,, but his wording kind of implies that he thinks similar to this)

i get it. a lot of trans men are uncomfortable wearing skirts because it makes them feel less like a man. but many trans men WILL wear skirts, including me!

what im trying to get at is... im a trans man who is completely comfortable and secure in my identity. i wear skirts (like giovanni), i bake (like giovanni), and i craft (like giovanni)!

i am comfortable being feminine, though i know my gender is masculine. just like a certain pink haired soupervillian. so why cant he be trans too?

ps: im just talking from my experiences, and im not trying to force any headcanons,, im just sad that my favorite headcanon for my favorite guy has been shot down :(

It was burning. It was all burning.

Molly’s breath hitched as she heard explosions and sees the fire in front of her, arms clutching around her middle as her eyes are stuck on watching it all. W-What happened? Who did this? She’s not sure, but her legs are stuck in place. It’s making her panic, it’s making her mind turn into a jumbled mess-- why did she decide to walk here today? 

But the mention of a ‘Virgo district’ and another world catches her attention. Somewhere... else? That’s-- That’s way too risky. She doesn’t know anything about the area, or the people, or if it’s even trustworthy in the first place. However, her legs start to move, and she runs with a panicked expression to the portals. Whatever it may be, she needs to get out of here as quickly as possible. Her legs start to ache, but she doesn’t stop until she reaches Koi’s City Hall. She should’ve said something to Sylvie, but that thought doesn’t cross her mind until she rushes inside a portal, falling to the other side.

She just lays there, breathing labored as she tries to get over the anxiety and panic she felt earlier. It was all... too similar to what happened before. To her home. 

A soft whimper escapes her lips, and she holds her knees close to her chest.

The little song that she had been humming had stopped altogether the very second that she spoke, It wasn’t like she minded somebody getting her attention. 

      █ * — ☾ Actually, she greatly appreciated it! But It did make her worried If she was being a little too loud with her little humming, it was meant to keep her mind calm as she forced on her homework but that didn’t mean that It would not place a bothered to those around her.

      █ * — ☾ Oh great, now she’s started to get a bit embarrassed about the possible chance that she was being a little too loud for her own liking. Before she could even let the other began speaking, she immediately began speaking again with a nervous tone following her words.  ❛ Was I being loud? I’m sorry! Purple bruises peppered around knuckles, barely scabbed over bottom lip, it’s definitely not a mystery why Meyha arrives in class an hour late, shoving her seat out so that she can flop down into the seating, backpack slung from one shoulder; Gale, the head teacher for Life Magic, doesn’t question much other than express concern — they themselves sometimes sleep in late, so they’re not going to be too harsh — before asking the student sitting next to Meyha if they’d be happy to share their notes on what they’d covered already.

“Giovanni, would you mind sharing your notes?” with a smile, a bit less strict than their spouses but just as filed with care for students.

Girl clicks her tongue under her breath, eyes glued to her desk with a curled expression— oh, even if they don’t say anything, she’s sure they’re laughing. As much as she’d like to fight back against her perceived judgement, she’d promised to herself that she’d do less to worry her family, that she’d make an effort, that she’d at least try. 

...She’d already fucked that up, of course, gotten caught up in a mess and been late to class, but... The boy next to her agrees with the teacher, offers a a loud smile and laugh, turns his head to look at Meyha full of a strange enthusiasm and moves his desk closer to hers so that she can see what he’s written.

First instinct is for finger nails to dig into palm, avoid his gaze, but from the backpack resting on her lap comes a gentle snore and rhythmic  breathing and the girl flickers her gaze between it — it’s modified slightly, to be comfortable, and it’s rather large... Her twin familiars rest inside it, though her dragon partner’s stayed back at the dorm — and the physical reminder of why she’s making this effort is enough to prompt her into straightening up a bit, leaning back on her chair. She doesn’t quite meet Giovanni’s gaze, give a response yet.

Lesson continues, and attention returns to teacher. 

“... Thanks.”

Whisper quiet, like it’s being fought to say. Cheeks are flushed, and once she says it, she turns her full attention to a suddenly very interesting part of the notes. Jacket is pulled closer to herself.
