#Repost @maytimber with @repostapp ・・・ 🎉May 8th-Liberation and Veterans' Day in Norway! 🇳🇴🎉 This picture was taken by photographer @torbjoernkjosvold during my last deployment in Afghanistan in 2012. I look so much older and tired than the young girl who came here for her first time, 6 years earlier. Much had happen over the years. The security situation just got worse for every deployment I had. The ideology we once had about making a better and free country for all, had vanished. We wasn't there because we believed in our politicians and their fancy words, for glory or for a "good cause". We were there because freedom isn't free and we felt a responsibility, not for the politicians but for the man and woman next to us.
