Spider Ham's Chekov Hammer: simple enough to guess, I'm just really waiting for that to pay off, preferably over Miguel's head.

Spider Noir and Hobie get along: just some good ole' fanservice.

Miles G. is actually a dork (he's just better at hiding it. mildly): Wow, great introduction Miles G.! Very suspenseful and intimidating!! Let's see how long you can carry that demeanor without breaking.

Margo / Miles (Miles G.?) / Gwen Love Triangle (Pavitr is annoying about it): Pass the popcorn everyone. How resentful will be Miles when he meets Gwen again? Is getting the spider-band together enough for him or is it just the first step into making amends? Maybe he feels more grateful towards Margo (and Hobie) and will give Gwen (and Peter B.) the cold shoulder for a while. Will Miles G. also enter the ring? Maybe this one really cute comic by @bubblypinkfreak will become true.

Jess Drew Subplot (baby is born?): REAL interested in finding out why Jess would ever follow an asshole like Miguel. Also she deserves more plot relevance. And fanart. Aaaaaand I kinda want to see her husband too.

The Spot Collapses in on himself: Gonna be honest with you, people, I have no idea how they'll fight him, this just seems like the cleanest solution.

Miguel's actually just as much of an anomaly as Miles: My own personal theory, not really based on anything concrete beyond some flags I get from Miguel and some stuff I'll explain later. Basically, I think Miguel's projecting on Miles, and that's part of why his beef towards him is so intense. The only explanation I can think of is that he destroyed his original dimension, not just the one with his daughter in it, and the serum we see him take is what keeps him "stable" and "belonging" to Nueva York. Or you know, maybe just the watch, but the serum is more sus to me.

Gwen Stacy Fall Subversion: Either Gwen completes her character arc by saving Miles from falling to his death or she saves herself, thus breaking her karmic cycle of getting fridged.

Meows Morales cameo?? Pretty Please???: C'mooooon he became instantly popular and he's adorable!!!!! <3 <3 <3 bonus points if multiple miles help out to fight against Miguel's squad later.

We spend some time on Hobie's dimension: No idea how the plot would get there, but the concept art of Hobie's dimension is fire and I want to learn more about him <3 <3 <3 tell us why you almost gave up the mask, darling, and did you kill a cop in your dimension? <3 why would you feel bad about it? <3 <3 <3 <3

Gwiles Morales (he hates that name): Apparently this is how some of the staff called him. Poor guy.

The Spider-Band fights Earth 42's Sinister Six: For those who don't know, they control Earth 42, as confirmed by the art book. Nothing better to sweeten Miles G. to our heroes' side than taking care of them. Bonus points if one of them is explicitly a fascist and Hobie and Noir punch him together.

Miguel Bites Someone: bonus points if it's hot as fuck. Sorry but it's true.

Lyla's the real bad guy (beyonder): I'm gonna let moviebob do the heavylifting here. Could tie to that personal theory I explained above.

Peter B. vs Miguel fight redemption: ok this one I'm biased for because I personally find Peter B. more morally culpable than Gwen in their whole drama with Miles seeing as he's the adult with a kid. But also yeah, good chance for him to redeem himself in Miles eyes (or not! maybe Miles wants more from him that just standing up to a bully) and take Miguel down a peg. Bonus points if he looses a leg, because apparently that's something that happens in Spidergirl's comic.

Prowler!Hobie somehow: Not saying our Hobie will turn into the prowler, just that the connection will be addressed somehow. Idk man, it just feels like positioning Hobie as another mentor for Miles is very deliberate.

Miles feels guilty about Earth 42: Juicy source of drama between him and Miles G. as well as a free character arc about how responsibility is more than just cause and effect.

Miguel tries to redeem himself by dying but Miles won't allow him to: Miguel O'hara has several problems, and I speculate they all come from his self-obsession. Everything about the spider society is about him erecting structures dedicated to his pain to turn himself into the martyr holding reality together. So if he's finally proven wrong, it seems pretty in character to me that his idea of making amends would be to do the same thing one last time for "the right cause", being the diva he is and how he thinks you can sacrifice one person to save everyone else and all. I don't think Miles will allow that, though. Bonus if the scene parallels the one in into the spiderverse when Miles returns Peter B. home.

That one @cheezthatboiii comic / Mileswitch: because what's the point of having a twin if you can't fool people about it?

Gonzalo/Gonza Morales: The correct alternative to Gwiles if anyone during production has braincells or is latine.

Margo Subplot (family issues): confirmed in the artbook that she ended up having more plot relevance than originally planned, and even if that wasn't the case she deserves it. And more fanart.

The Spot is defeated with kindness: Ok. Before I said that I don't know how the Spot could be defeated with violence, but maybe that's not needed? He is clearly a foil to Miles after all, and I think it would do him (Miles) a lot of good to practice some radical empathy, even on someone who kinda doesn't "deserve" it. This isn't so much about him being ""redeemable"" (fandom has ruined that whole concept) so much as how much empathy the narrative is willing to grant him.

Jeff meets Gonza before Miles reveals to him that he's Spiderman. He's confused by having 2 sons: this just feels to me like the most probably sequence of events given the franchise's usual use of bathos and subversion of expectations.

Spider Support Network Finale: No more spider society authority "correcting" the multiverse, every spider-person gets a watch so their friends can come over and lend a hand and prevent as many deaths as possible.

Aaron 42 gets severely injured/dies: I don't want this to happen, it just seems like a way of trimming some fat in the cast and getting some more drama from Gonza.

Specifically @ those folks who--at some point in the last three months--have left thoughtful, encouraging, or completely unhinged comments on Doom Metal Love Story, only to be met with crickets from the ADHD introvert who wrote the damned thing. I do read every single comment, I just apparently need a secretary.

This also serves as an "I highly recommend these blogs/writers" post. If you're following me and not following these folks, you're doing yourself a disservice. Most of them are writing queer horror or horror-adjacent fiction that affects my brain chemistry.

I've been meaning to ask this for some time now, since I've realised as we're working on a fic together that you tend to make little headcanons about the characters here and there.

So I would love to hear some about your fic "to live". I tell you it's a masterpiece and it'd be a crime if you DO have hcs or side notes and you've kept them all to yourself

to anyone interested, the fic is to live, an aot villain AU where Levi never left the Underground and Hange followed a different path. Assassin Levi x torturer Hange (she's a torturer for the Military Police). This post will contain spoilers for the fic.

The first person Levi killed when he became an assassin was the pimp who left his sick mother to die without providing her with any healthcare.

when Levi pushed Hange against that wall, (this is what I'm talking about) he was genuinely impatient and wanted to intimidate her. However Hange's feelings were a little... different. Danger has always exhilarated her and I have to admit that she did think about kissing him right then and there. She knew she'd end up with a knife at her throat but oh well, all the better.

Chapter 5:

“Say you’re sorry.” A pause, during which she imagines his lips pursing into a thin line. “What does it matter if I do?” It does, for the sake of their weird, twisted friendship. Because however little kindness he's got left, he spared some for her. “Just say it, midget.” “Tsk. Dumbass shitty-glasses.” “Stuck-up clean freak.”

this was inspired by Six of Crows and it according to the note I'd initially made, it would go like this: (context, Levi is bedridden, injured and they're bickering because Hange wants to go do murder stuff)

4. I found a fanart that reminded me of the fic and kept it in my notes. torture buddies Levihan here!

5. When Levi adopted Mikasa after her parents died, he really had to be a parent to her. She'd wake up by nightmares and he'd have to?? calm her down?? who, Levi Ackerman??

He was better at it than he expected, though. He wanted her to throw that stupid scarf away because he claimed it provided a grip for any attackers, but she refused (because it's Eren's. Mikasa still remembers Eren as the boy who taught her kindness still exists).

6. In an earlier draft, while hazy from some attack (idk which), Hange was supposed tell Levi that she liked it when he called her by her name, because initially he only referred to her by the infamous nicknames.

Later, Levi would find himself in the same predicament (hazy from an attack) and this would happen

She comes closer and he sees her, worried and bloodstained. “Levi? Are you okay?” “I’m okay.” He wraps a tendril of her hair around his finger. Holds it like a lifeline. “Hange.” “What is it?” “Nothing. You like it when I say your name.” That fact might have been a memory or a dream, but he doesn’t bother trying to figure that out. He's tired. “Don’t fall asleep!” she urges him. “If you keep shouting like this, I can’t,” he mutters.

(well, this might make it into the fic eventually. I don't know 😅)

7. Another deleted scene which I liked very much. They've found themselves in some abandoned village and sleep side by side.

Hange inches closer to him, her hands press against his chest. He finds it rough and calloused from holding hammers and buzzsaws, not swords or scalpels. From creating, not destroying. Levi wishes for the first time that he could do something useful for the kids like the one he used to be, frail and weak and alone. Without being sure why, he snakes an arm around her waist and pulls her closer. Her breath fans over his face and he’s only millimetres away from pressing their foreheads together. It’s a tenderness he feels like they’re stealing from another kinder world. This world is cruel, though, and they know that they’ll be each other’s demise or die trying. I’ll kill you, her kind smile says. The inquisitiveness with which her eye roams his face, the way her hands press on his beating heart. I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you. A twisted lullaby. //  She studies his stormy eyes, the smooth bridge of his nose, the line of his mouth. She drinks in every little detail, tries to read his expression. He gives her nothing.

this scene. ohhh I forgot how much I liked it. I got goosebumps. 😄

7. deleted scene #3679 (context: Hange would return to the Scouts here and Levi rode his horse next to her until the camp. It happened a bit differently in the final product)

“Is this goodbye, then?” she asks. “I guess.” She looks like she wants to say something and Levi finds himself once more awaiting her next words with a knot in his stomach. “I never liked goodbyes, you know. Us Scouts never say goodbye, only good luck. So, good luck, Levi. Kick their asses.” The first rays of the morning sun dance around her hair and she looks more like a painting than a person, a painting with soot smudged on her cheeks and a stiff back and an eye the colour of soil and life. Bright and hopeful and alive, that’s what she is. That’s what she deserves to be. Hange’s horse starts to trudge towards the camp, and Levi calls out for her before he can regret it. “Hange!” She stops and looks back. Her name rolls off his tongue as if he’s said it countless times before. It’s familiar, it feels right. And if it takes never saying it again for her to live, maybe it’s okay. “Good luck.”

heyyy I liked this scene too, would you look at that.

8. Levi likes to kiss Hange's neck (I headcanon that for canon as well, but let's mention it here). He's too short to reach her cheek so he just kisses her neck fleetingly when they become canon. Also he likes to cuddle up to her and use her as a pillow.

9. Chapter 3:

The tip of his nose is cute, so mismatched for a murderer like him. That’s what piqued her interest when he pinned her against the wall that first night. Maybe when she kills him, she’ll cut off his nose and preserve it in a jar, it’s too nice to let rot.

fun fact, you have @quillsandblades to thank for that because they were the one who made me not scrap that scene and actually use it somewhere.

10. After Levihan becomes canon and assuming everything works out eventually, Levi becomes the Scouts' scary parent and Mikasa their scary sister. Assassin Levi with Connie and Sasha.

11. Kenny ships Levihan. Granted, he did send them after eachother, but chemistry is chemistry and Kenny has eyes.

My Compromise (Celebrating 1,000 Followers)

So, I finally hit 1,000 followers not too long ago~ I know the majority of that number isn't actually active, but it's still a cool milestone to have hit nonetheless. So thank you if you've stuck around or if you're new here. I do appreciate any and all support that I get from y'all~ Even though I make art almost solely to make myself happy, I can't deny that having an audience is a decent motivator, so I'm happy to have caught your attention for whatever reason~

Recently, I asked y'all if you'd want me to hold the usual "follower milestone celebration" to open art requests, but the reaction was kinda indifferent~ Still, even though they were in the minority, I do feel a little bad that the people that did want to do it got shut down. So, here's my compromise:

I'll do another Six Fanarts challenge~ If you've never seen this, all you have to do is suggest a character for me to draw in my ask box, and I'll draw it in one of these rectangles.

Please include the series the character is from. I live under a rock, so there's a good chance I'm just not gonna know who your character is if you don't tell me.

It's virtually the same as making a request, but maybe framing it this way will make it more fun for y'all and motivate more people to participate (plus I'll have an excuse to not do full body drawings. Those take a long time ya know~).

Even though this is a "six" fanarts challenge, I actually wanted to do at least 10 of these, I just don't feel like editing the graphic right now~ Maybe I'll even bump it up to 12 so I don't have to edit the graphic at all~

Here are my rules about it:

No OCs. Sorry, that's still gonna be a rule~ I know y'all have some cuties that I'd actually love to draw, but making rules about it is tiring since I'm not mutuals with everyone that I like, so it's easier to just ban all OCs U_U. (Maybe I should consider opening art trades?)

I will draw for fandoms I'm not familiar with unless I'm not comfortable with it for whatever reason. I'm not gonna make a list of banned subjects, but I'll let ya know if it's something I don't wanna do.

Anons will be allowed. I prefer to keep these kinds of celebrations to be follower only, but I realize that some people are just shy, so since this is a lower-stakes way of celebrating, I'll go ahead and allow anons. HOWEVER, people that I can verify as followers are gonna get priority over anons and non-followers. So, if you wanna increase the chance that your character gets drawn, try to come out of your shell a little~

I'll let y'all send requests for a day or 2, and then I'll pick the ones I wanna do from the requests I got. I'll generally try to abide by "first come, first served," but it's not a hard rule. Here's a rundown of my general priorities (assuming the request doesn't conflict with one of the rules and doesn't offend me):

it’s interesting that engagement on tumblr and twitter is so high right now but it doesn’t seem to be transferring to more engagement on art? i have twice the number of followers on here and on twitter that i did six months ago but interactions on new fics is half of what it was for similar ones at the beginning of the year and i’ve seen some other writers talking about the same thing. i wonder if it’s because there’s more dream team content now? so people are naturally more invested in short form, immediate content like liveblogging than more of a free time filler like reading fics. i know i’m reading less than i was during content droughts (sorry for essay andying in your inbox lmao your post just got me thinking)

no no my ask box says essay andys welcome i think unless i changed it and that is interesting! i dont personally write or create fanart but over the past 9 months my clips have probably gone up from an average 210-250 notes to 300. i thought it was just blog growth and more tumblr users but idk your theory on immediate content gives immediate fan reaction and engagement does seem quite likely.

maybe also a summer thing? more things to do and people are more likely to go outside and be busy rather than stay in reading?

i also wonder, there are obviously quite a lot more newer hispanic fans i think, especially on twitter. i genuinely dont know at all, but they might be more likely to reblog and tweet about clips and streams, and even read spanish fanfiction rather than read english fanfiction? <- again i really dont know about this at all.

I've been thinking lately about the hate on the MCU that goes around on Tumblr. Because usually I just srcoll pats it you know? I like it, you don't, that's fine hate on anything you want I'll just move on with my life.

But there's a certain air of superiority that comes with it. Like I see people here that will ridicule the MCU and get on a high horse for it like their tastes are so superior because of it when they are, as any normal person would, liking and sharing content from equally mediocre or "cringe" media.

I've seen people saying the MCU is thrash while rbing Sonic The Hedgehog fanart. I've read people argue how bad the MCU is followed by a six paragraph post about klance and Voltron's writing (well back when it was popular here of course). I've watched someone bash the MCU and then go on a rb spree of panels from the Big Two comic book companies.

And I want to kinda go on on this point. Because, listen, comic books are a medium not a genre, there are loads of incredible stories but from stablished companies and indie authors, but when it comes to companies like Marvel and DC I thought it was common knowledge in reading circles that they are mostly TRASH, like genuine garbage, like I can't even say that there's ooc stuff there because there are so many decades of writing and writers that there is no actual "canon" interpretation of a character it's just a jumble of characteristics thrown around to work with the current narrative. Every once in a while you get to one that blows your mind, that changes your whole world view and you think "wow I love comic books!" And then it's trash again for a while. The best you can do is pick your favorite writer like King, Taylor, Morrison, etc and HOPE they will work on a character you like.

And that's okay! Not every issue has to be world changing and as long as you're having fun that's fine! But the thing is this ALSO applies to the MCU.

And I get the criticisms, the MCU is backed by the US Army, it doesn't develop meaningful relationships most of the time, and such but like...you do know that that also applies to most comic books from the Big Two, Sonic and Voltron?

Sonic The Hedgehog is known for his bad games where maybe one every 15 will be actually enjoyable not to mention the plot and the characters are almost non existent, and both Sonic movies are fun as hell AND backed by the US Army.

Voltron was...you know what I don't even have to say it that's a low blow sorry.

Comics from DC and Marvel are mostly tools to sell toys, have been used to push conservative propaganda many times in the past, they routinely take pointers from news organizations, the NBA and of course the US Army with many others. Marvel made personifications of common drugs for the heroes to fight like c'mon!

All of this feels weird to me because I see the same people going like "enjoy what you like! Kill cringe culture! You're not better than everyone else!" And go straight to bashing people for liking something that has the same issues that they enjoy.

Look, I get it, if you don't like the MCU that's cool, again, hate as much as you want I'll move on with my day but... I think you might want to question what exactly is making you believe that you are "above" liking something.

I have been watching Bridgerton Season 2 with my beta, and we have decided to plot out the Kanej Regency/Bridgerton-inspired AU that absolutely no one asked for. I won't abandon my modern AU, but this is tickling my brain in the most delightful ways.

I hope you're read for gratuitous clothing descriptions, barely touching, horses, and strangers to friends to lovers in spades.

That's right, baby! For this account's very first poll, all* the women in Shakespeare's main canon (basically all the plays excluding The Two Noble Kinsmen, because the website I used to collect the names doesn't have it. oh and none of the poems either. sorry.) are going HEAD to HEAD in what can only be described as a Tumblr Popularity contest! Here's how its going to work:

these lovely women have been systematically ranked and the bracket was created using what I like to call "a website that does it for me". they were ranked by the amount of lines they have, not my personal opinion. I don't think I could rank 10 of them based on personal opinion, much less 136*

Polling:

Due to an overflow of women being eligible, there will be a preliminary/qualifying round of 8 polls to narrow down the selection. As soon as that happens, Round One will begin, consisting of 64 rounds. This tournament is single elimination, so once a character is defeated, she's out. Round Two will follow, then Rounds Three, Four, Five, Six, and finally, Seven will take place. There may be some delays between rounds as I queue up the next rounds so please be patient. Eris had never been particularly fond of children.

They were loud. Smelly. Annoying. Pretty rude sometimes, too. Being the oldest with six younger brothers hadn’t helped at all.

The other boys had caught on quick enough: Eris was the oldest. You followed father’s rules, but when he wasn’t around, Eris was the one to fear.

He was perfectly alright with that setup.

Until his mother went off and bore another high lord’s child.

Lucien. The kid was awful. The most annoying of the bunch by far, and absolutely, irrevocably, in love with Eris.

Avoiding Lucien had become a new hobby of his.

He wasn’t very good at it.

Eris had been enjoying the crisp afternoon, one of his rare days left to his own devices, planning to spend it with his hounds, far away from the manor and all his brothers—

But little Lucien followed.

He tried to sneak. Eris walked through the forests, casually gazing up at the redwoods and oaks, pretending not to hear the little giggles as Lucien followed close behind, darting from tree to tree. If not the giggles, crunching footsteps, and loud sniffs from the remnants of Lucien’s most recent cold every few minutes, then it was the shushing that gave him away.

Eris’s hounds were far more interested in Lucien, jumping and barking happily around him, and Lucien loudly shushed them every time.

The sprawling forest thinned in the slightest, opening to a trickling creek through the tree. A thick branch had fallen along it, and Eris slung a leg over it, sitting heavily with a loud sigh.

The footsteps shuffled to a stop behind him.

“Well,” Eris said loudly, pulling one of his daggers from his belt, “I certainly hope there are no monsters in this forest. I’d hate to have to slay a beast on my day off.”

A giggle came from the trees.

Eris couldn’t help how his lips tugged upwards. He whistled through his teeth, picking up a stone and sliding it down the blade.

“Aspen!”

The dog bounded over to him, his first, most loyal of the pack.

“Reveal,” Eris ordered, scratching Aspen behind the ears. The hound barked, tail a blur behind her, and shot into the trees.

All was quiet in the forest for a moment, save the rustle of wind through dry leaves and the sliiink of the stone against his blade—then a yelp, a bark, and a shrieked, “NO NO NO NO NO NO!!”

Aspen dragged a dirt-covered little redhead out by the pant leg and dropped him at Eris’ feet.

Two big, twinkling russet eyes blinked up at him.

“Gotchu,” Lucien giggled.

Sliiink. Sliiink.

Eris raised an eyebrow as Lucien’s smile faltered and he pulled himself to his feet, trying to brush the leaves off his shirt.

“You had lessons today,” Eris said, focus on the blade in his hand. “And yet you’re out here with me.”

“They’re so boring,” Lucien moaned, and flopped to the ground with a sigh to lean against the branch beside Eris’ legs. “This is way funner. Whatcha doing out here, anyways?”

Eris couldn’t fault him that. He’d hated his fair share of etiquette and history lessons, too.

Aspen trotted right up to Lucien and licked up his little round cheek.

He burst into giggles and grabbed the ghost hound around the neck, pulling her into a hug. “I like your dogs, Eris.”

“Same here,” he muttered.

He didn’t know how to talk to this kid.

This half-brother.

There was the age difference, for one thing; Eris was a fully grown adult by the time Lucien was born. Brother, yes, but little Lucien...he was barely six years old, and treated Eris as if he were a god.

And then there was the truth.

The dirty little secret, the sword hanging by a hair above Lucien’s head.

That was the problem with being a grown, conscious fae while his mother was still having children.

He figured out very quickly why Lucien didn’t quite fit in to the Vanserra clan—and he’d barely been able to stomach looking the kid in the eye since then.

“Whatcha doing?” Lucien asked again once Aspen calmed, curled up by his side. He scooted backwards, up onto the branch, until he made it to right next to Eris. He peered over Eris’s arm at the dagger.

“Sharpening my dagger,” Eris said simply, and continued to do so. Smooth, long strokes right along the edge.

Lucien stared, and they sat in silence for a moment. Lucien’s little leg started to bounce.

“I-I have a sword, too,” he announced, jumping to his feet and pulling a small wooden sword from his belt, waving it proudly at Eris. “Father gave it to me so I could fight Ronan. I’m gonna beat him next time he tries to fight me. I’m gettin’ real good.”

Eris grimaced, not lifting his gaze. “I bet you are.”

Lucien cocked his head, bright orange hair falling limp over his forehead. “Are you sad?”

That got him to look up. The kid was gazing so intently at him, his little eyebrows furrowed as he clutched his little wooden sword. Eris’s heart clenched—those were his mother’s eyes. Well, her eyes centuries ago, before Beron made sure they never twinkled again.

“I’m always a little sad,” Eris replied, giving him a small smile. “But we live with it, don’t we?”

A grin lit up Lucien’s chubby face. “I’ve never been sad. I’m always happy, I’m good at it.”

A lump caught in Eris’s throat. That...wouldn’t last long in this place. Hell, the kid still thought Ronan and Hagan and Vulcan were playing pirates, when they’d come at him altogether with swords drawn and he’d run off shrieking to the safety of their mother. Reality would sink in within a couple years.

Lucien reached out and gently tapped Eris on the head with his wooden sword. “Can I help you be happy?”

Eris hummed, flipping the blade to sharpen the other side. “I’m fine, kid. Thank you.”

“Good.” Lucien nodded, still fidgeting with the hilt of his sword. He gave it an experimental swing, big eyes narrowing into a fierce little scowl that made Eris want to laugh.

“You swing with too much elbow.”

Lucien huffed, swinging the sword again, this time right towards Eris, pursing his lips and letting out a quiet “swooooosh” as the wooden sword swung. He tapped it against Eris’s arm—and a grin broke out over his face again.

“Got your arm. Drop your sword, I cut off your arm!”

“Hm.” Eris kept sharpening his blade, a small smile plying at his lips. “You would have gotten my arm, but your sword is too dull.”

“Nuh-uh.” Lucien ran a little finger along the rounded edge of the sword. “I sharpened it last night!”

“Not very well,” Eris chuckled.

“Hey.” Lucien huffed again. “Don’t be mean to me.”

“I’ll be however I’d like to be.”

Lucien only giggled at the threat, then shoved his wooden sword towards Eris.

“Can you sharpen it for me, Eris?”

So much for a day to himself.

Eris sighed, grabbing the wooden sword and setting down his own. “Only if you promise to shut up for the rest of this walk.”

Lucien clapped his hands over his mouth and nodded. “You got it. I’m quiet.”

Eris frowned at the sword—this was ridiculous. One couldn’t just sharpen a wooden sword—much less with a stone.

Oblivious and obnoxious as ever, Lucien bounced on the balls of his feet and tried to smother his grin behind his hands.

Annoying little prick was being pretty cute. As far as kids went, that is.

Eris heaved a defeated sigh, and lowered the stone to the wooden sword.

The Hetalia "Cell Block Tango" AU/Scenario

This idea left my brain last saturday and, as usual, has already completely spun out of control two days later. Much thanks to Riva (@fireandiceland) for their open ear and grandiose input, all of the following bullshit would not have been possible without them.

This is essentially an update to this post about a "Cell Block Tango" Performance for Hetalia ships that at some point could be construed as partner exercising foreign rule over the other. We've talked about it as a show that the countries put on for fun, so it's not really an AU. We're here to be horny and have fun, not to be dramatic and edgy, okay. (Or at least not "actual murder" dramatic).

Here's the list of the couples and their corresponding parts that we settled on. (I'll use the names of the characters from "Chicago" & their iconic little cue).

Liz/Pop - SuFin, with Tino as Liz. The ship was Riva's suggestion and I like them for this part not only because the triviality of the murder motive suits their domestic vibe, but the violent solution fits Tino's wilder/more darker side that sleeps under that friendly exterior.

Annie/Six - Spamano, with Lovino as Annie. Look, Riva agreed that loose lover Antonio seems plausible, I think poisoning is a good way to murder for Lovino and I also. Really. Just love the image of the "deathkiss" and then Lovino kicking Antonio two meters across the stage. And I am sure that Antonio feels the same way as I do.

June/Squish - DenNor, with Lukas as June. I mostly settled on them because I can see Matthias be somewhat possessive and I can see him thoroughly excited for the choreography. (Maybe also for the fact that he gets to wear no shirt). Riva also said that the scenario itself and the ambiguity about whether or not June actually cheated meshes well with Lukas' more elusive nature.

Hunyak/Uh-Uh - LietBel, with Natalya as Hunyak. (Natalya? Natasha? I'm sorry if I misremembered her name, use whatever floats your boat). We both agreed that we needed Natalya in this, but I couldn't quite find a ship with her quickly that worked well with my original definition of Empire/Territory. Giving her Hunyak's innocent part solves that problem, subverts her often arguably pretty meh canon/fanon interpretations and she gets to have a beautiful dance number with Toris. Toris, who is just really happy for his girlfriend and resigned between the hotblooded, horny chaos that is the rest :).

Velma/Cicero - TurGre, with Herakles as Velma. I thought the cheating situation suited them, as I have a weakness for Herakles being Sadık's favourite, but certainly not only bedfellow at all times and the intensity of the rage is one Herakles well-deserves (if only for show these days). Plus, their performance required a third person and lemme tell you, they do not lack options in my brain. I considered Mohammed (Egypt) at first, but then thought he'd probably politely decline but would surely love to watch the show for "moral support". So instead I went for my Sicily OC Michele as Veronica, because mom said it's my turn on the self-indulgence machine.

Mona/Lipschitz - AusHun, with Erzsébet as Mona. I was sold at the "a real artistic guy, sensitive" part (even though Roderich is rather a musician than a painter) and Riva pointed out that the cheating also could be a great reference to the Habsburg marriage politics.

Further Thoughts (& Thots) for this under the cut, because I knew if I had this post uncut on my dash, I'd murder someone too:

- Mads is really excited about the choreography until he realizes that he has to basically throw half a bridge and hold it for most of Natalya's part. Mads: "Oh. So I gotta keep this up for the whole number now?" Lukas: "Quit whining ..." One of the others: "What, is the viking already folding?" Mads: "Pfft, as if, no problem for me!" He looks up at Lukas. "Besides, the view from down here isn't that bad either." Lukas threateningly lifts his foot with dangerously high-heeled boot. Mads: 'Don't say Step on me, don't say Step on me, don't say - Ah crap, I already did, didn't I?' Practice has to be paused and Natalya chews them out for ruining her practice!

- As Riva put it and I then expanded upon:

How we imagine Hetalia Cell Block Tango: Intriguing, dark, erotic.

How it actually is: Antonio, Mathias, Berwald, Sadık about to cream their pants while Lovino, Lukas, Tino, Herakles live their dreams. Natalya fighting everyone who makes a single wrong step during her part of the performance, Toris trying to calm her down. Erzsébet pulling Roderich off stage to do a private tango. Ex-Imperial dick measuring contests between Antonio, Sadık and Roderich, although the latter of course tries to not to get dragged into any thing so undignified. However, there are still ties with Antonio and also, a bitch (Roderich) may not start a fight, but a bitch is sure going to end one! Or at least attempt to do so. Endless South Italian Bickering, because Lovino and Michele may get on marginally better than Lovino does with Feliciano, but unlike Feli, Michè pays back in kind.

- Here's my two cents on the nature of the horniness of the "murdered lovers": Antonio and Sadık are unapologetically gawking and can't imagine anything better than being 'mistreated' by their darling. Being kicked across, shoved nearly off the stage is part of the fun and they don't hide it. Rest in rip everyone else who has to witness this. Matthias tries to half-heartedly hide how turned on he his, but as we saw above, he isn't very good at it. Maybe it also just looks like he's trying to hide it because he is North European after all, so it looks tame next to the two other horndogs. Berwald's extremely flustered, which is either clear as daylight to everyone around him or he tries so hard to stay 'professional' that his hands shake and he can barely talk. (Which I'd personally find hilarious when contrasted with Antonio one number over). Roderich acts as if he isn't as affected, but his façade also cracks often enough. He's got it just as bad as everyone else for his Erzsì, but he doesn't want to show it in front of other people.

- I also wrote a Minific yesterday, mostly concerned with Michele being asked to participate & some bitching between him and Lovino. If I find the time, I'll clean it up tonight and post it some time.
