really think it's important to not only have queer spaces outside of internet circles, but to also actually GO to them, because if you spend all your time learning about and interacting with other queer ppl on twitter/tumblr you end up with serious, dangerous and wrong opinions of "trans men are oppressors" and "lesbians are te/rfs" instead of getting to go out and meet all sorts of people in the community and get to know them and become one big family

#i know esp its really hard for teens since theyre too young to drink and go to bars i had to go to a lgbt center and it was still severely #severely lacking in resources and events to talk to other trans kids #im fortunate in my adulthood to have a big circle of gay and trans friends to hang out with #insert improve society somewhat comic here: but the internet has changed how a lot of ppl in the community view each other as like #competitors in oppression instead of people you should connect with and love #sorry read a thread calling terfs closeted trans men and i felt like throwing up genuinely
