I'm a little curious- any particular reasoning/symbolism to the gem on Hera's dress also being green (or the accents of Zeus's crown being the same light blue as in Hera's eyes) or was that just for some extra detail/some nice accents in the color comp?
but anyways seriously ohh!! I love this!!! It's so fitting for them (esp w/ the name) and you captured the vibes w/ their gazes so well!!<333
Gonna name this something clever like “I desire/deceive you” or something
Based on Jupiter and Juno on Mount Ida by James Barry
#seriously the EXPRESSIONS...#at a glance they're both a careful neutral (like the og painting iirc) but then you look closer-#Zeus has a slight smile & half-lidded eyes as he looks ever so slightly up at her but not *soft* per se. more knowing. more smug even.#Hera's brow is furrowed- gaze harder and looking at Zeus dead on#This is habit. A practiced song and dance between them.#they both Know what's up. How this goes and how it ends. and they know the other does too.#but they're going to act like they don't. but they Do.#Zeus gets to win- somehow some way practically every time#and Hera has to try again. Over and Over. The cycle repeats. it goes on the same.#Hera is hardened and tired and fighting and strategizing#and Zeus is relaxed and comfortable in his position. knowing he'll never *truly* lose.#THIS APPLIES TO THE BODY LANGUAGE TOO#Hera is all tact and carefully intentional while Zeus is all relaxed and he's encircling her with his arms while she plays with his hair...#sorry not to overanalyze your art as symbolism for their entire relationship and its patterns#gem stop yapping in ur tags#greek mythology#ancient greek mythology#greek pantheon#greek goddess#hera#hera goddess#zeus#hera greek mythology#zeus greek mythology#zeus god#zeus x hera#hera x zeus#HERA MY BELOVED<3
