i loved how in cater's dream they almost word-for-word copied alice's trial from the disney movie, even putting leona in the role of the dormouse and silver in the role of the mad hatter. i've always been a huge disney fan so getting to see those kinds of references is definitely part of what makes twst so fun for me. and both cater and deuce's dreams did capture the surreal, nonsensical feel of alice in wonderland LOL!

did you see the JP schedule that dropped last week? they went against what i expected and announced that part 2 with ace and trey's dreams is coming out late this month! so now between the four new cards for new years, lilia and malleus's birthdays, trein's new card AND trey actually getting a story SSR this month is pretty stacked. not that i'm complaining though tbh, twst already has a lot less events than other gacha games i know of so i don't mind getting more content each month. also, i guess my original thought that trey would be the one to get the SSR for heartslabyul was technically right! i wonder if ace will get his unique magic here soon... i've always thought that, assuming that the monster from the prologue is an overblot grim and we'll have to fight him in book 8, ace would get his UM then. but i've seen speculation that he might get it in book 7 so he can use it to help fight malleus.

i agree that the former dormhead cater theory could've added so much to his dynamics with both riddle and trey! i guess i'll just keep enjoying it as an AU. i really am sad that we got it debunked only to not learn much else about him at all, though. i was hoping that when the "diamond movie awards" were mentioned in vil's dream, that would be connected to cater.

but, yeah, i like your idea of the riddle-cater-trey dynamic, it makes a lot more sense than then using him to gain power ASDKJFDFGHFD. i mean, trey was also so shocked and so regretful when ace told him that riddle being such a tyrant was his fault, because he had thought he was being kind to riddle by going easy on him. he then allowed ace and deuce to try and duel riddle to dethrone him, and did all that he could to stop riddle from seriously harming anyone and to save him from his overblot. it especially comes through with trey's facial expressions in the manga just how much he cares about riddle, and in the novel as well--i don't know if you've read it, but during riddle's flashback + directly after it the narration is in its POV, and i'll just let this speak for itself:

if riddle ends up just getting written out of cater's dream world and not appearing as a result of cater being the dorm leader then i'll be literally so sad not just because i want to learn as much about riddle and cater's dynamic as possible, but also. imagine seeing first year riddle with his card suit mark on his cheek 🥺
