Sometimes he had to admit, it was quite hard to figure out just how Jiro was still alive. Natural selection clearly tried to get to him, but perhaps it was nothing but blind luck that kept him from getting buried in an early grave?

Glancing at the charger, its frayed wires protruding like battle wounds, Jiro felt a wry chuckle bubble up. "It's not like I meant for it to become a fire hazard," he thought, shaking his head. "Sometimes it feels like the universe has a personal vendetta against me."

Despite the irritation, he had to admit Saburo's relentless concern was oddly endearing. Jiro met Saburo's gaze and smirked. "Alright, alright," he said with a grin, "next time I'll make sure my charger doesn't look like it's survived a battlefield. Now can you lend me a charger? I know you have a couple."
