Lo, another fanfic! Once again for a LU Discord prompt, this time for Legend Week. Proofread by Oh Sibling Dearest (@thorns-for-the-sake-of-flowers), who also pointed put that I was massively overthinking how to write the middle of the fic. Anyways, Legend & Wind get stuck in a cave, and neither have a particularly good time. (From Legend's P.O.V)

As a sidenote, I had their pronouns picked out before realising I'd never use Legend's, so have them anyways lol:

Thank whatever deity was listening that neither of us got seriously hurt. However, it did mean that now we had no way of getting help from the others. I could only hope they heard the collapse.

“Fuckin’ hell that sucked,”

“Usually I’d tell you off for swearing, Sailor, but you’re not wrong. It’s also not like the others are here to tell you off,” Being honest, I never really cared about swearing, but it’s funny to see the reactions.

“As if yer ever serious about it,” Wind retorted, smirking. A frown soon overtook that, though. “I hope the others heard that. Not that I hate ya or anything, this is just…”

“Not ideal. I get it,” I sighed. “So much for ‘quality bonding time’,”

“Ha, yeah. Wonder what happened, though. Things don’t normally fall down on their own,”

“I can't feel any magical bullshit here, so it was probably going to happen regardless of who came in next.” I mean, something could've happened, but it was unlikely that it was anything against us.

“Sucks that it had to be us. Also, I'd be surprised if ya don't have something to help,” Wind's statement was fair enough, however I very much did not have anything we could use. That would've been due to Wind's (and Time's) insistence that we shouldn't need much. Just our luck.

“At least you have your necklace,” I hoped it'd work. He'd never let me have a look at it before, despite my curiosity.

“Ah, yeah!” He pulled his necklace out from under his shirt. A faint glow outlined his face as got to work on trying to get through to Wild. I also wasn’t sure why it could connect to Wild's slate, their magic was completely different to the Sailor's. After what I guessed were a few attempts, Wind sighed. The glow faded, darkness again swallowing the cave.

“He's not answering. I guess they don't have the slate with them,”

“Might be swimming. The gods know they wanted to,” From what Wind had said before we split off, the beach wasn't too far from here. Besides that, the Champion had a knack for finding new places.

“Yeah, maybe,” He sighed, a soft thump bouncing around the walls as he sat down. “Why did we have to go to this cave? We could've gone with everyone else, or at least found a better cave,”

“Well there were, and still are, lots of crystals in here, and I know you like them. Also, you wanted to ‘explore the wilderness’. And drag me along,” Could just be an effect of the collapse, but I was starting to get a headache.

“Ye wanted to come! It's also not like I overly wanted to look in here. For all I know, us just walking in here made it collapse!”

“I’m sorry, are you trying to imply that I caused this mess!?” How dare he, the idiot didn’t- no, couldn’t do anything to stop this either. That did not make it my-

“I didn’t really mean to, no.” I barely caught him staring at me through the darkness. I did miss him mumbling something else though. Which… Is fairly out of character for the one who likes to make his thoughts known.

“If you're going to say something, could you speak up?” That came out harsher than I meant. A sigh came in response.

“Are ye?” What did he-?

“Am I what?”

“I- I don’t think this was yer fault despite what I said, neither of us could’ve stopped it,” He started, seeming to catch himself before he started rambling. “But… do you?"

Soooooo, to be honest, I still feel VERY strongly about the majority of my suggestions last year and I couldn't bear to not include them. But I didn't want to cheat by literally copy/pasting last year's task so you will find them at the end. Let's goooo!

Luz Noceda

So I haven't actually watched much of the Owl House (Like... 2 episodes maybe) and therefore I am not the person to bring this character, but I just thought Luz was so adorable and so relatable I mean she is a fangirl just like us!!! And she would fit in perfectly at Pride U her story is so easy to adapt to Swynlake. We have so many awesome TOH people and I just think we should have our protagonist!!

FC idea: I think it's been said before but cutest girly ever Madison Reyes

2. Koda and Kenai

I went through this phase (probably inspired by TLOU tbh) where I really loved the idea of like Koda and Kenai from Brother Bear as a duo that wound up together because they were both hitchhiking across the US (Koda looking for his mom, Kenai looking for someone to break his curse) and it turns out Kenai killed Koda's mom!!!! That would be crazy right? Maybe somehow they end up in Swynlake and run out of money and otherwise get stuck here, and eventually the truth comes out about Koda's mom.... listen I just love Brother Bear and I love found family and I love a sibling-type relationship where one of them is a little shithead because they're hiding how they're actually really hurt and the other is a grump it's always just so fun. Someone take this idea away from me please.

I don't have FC suggestions off the top of my head but I highly recommend talking to Mak, the FC wizard, if that is a concern!!!

3. Izzy Hawthorne

I just think the Swynlake Rangers have a lot of potential (especially if it's like in Lightyear where the group is kind of a joke lmao and maybe even one or two of them are actually just there for court mandated community service). I love an idealist and a disney protag type girly with big dreams and I just think she'd be so much fun!!

4. Mama Odie

I think Mama Odie could be a lot of fun. She's a character with a sense of humor in the movie, she enjoys being kind of cryptic and even though she helps people she always makes them work for it. And I just think it'd be interesting to have her around and kind of challenge Tiana's ideas about New Orleans and what it was like being a Mundus vs. a Magick living there. And maybe could incorporate some stuff about her dad and the RAS? Idk just a thought!!

5. Collette

Another selfish Tiana connection request lol but PLZ. Let's do French cooking vs Cajun cooking! Let's do fine dining versus mid level dining! Let's do THE BEAR AU!!!! YES CHEF THANK YOU CHEF!!!!

FC Idea: Greta Lee I mean COME ON!!!! Have you ever seen a more Collette FC in your life.

6. Joe Gardner

I am simply a sucker for a story about ~what it means to live a good life~. I like the idea that Joe gets to come back and he's so determined to be a famous musician and then he realizes what makes a good life is the friends he made along the way etc. I also just want more Soul characters lmao. I love u Joe <3

7. Bonnie and Forky

Sorry I just think this is the craziest and funniest idea I ever had. Like we all know what it's like to be under pressure as a creative but what if you were under so much pressure that your demon friend's life depended your ability to produce??? I just think it could be a really fun satire on like hustle culture especially in the creative world and I also think Forky is a hilarious character and I need someone to bring this.

Bonnie: I think Haley Lu Richardson has the what-the-fuck-have-I-done energy lmaooo

Forky: Pete Davidson because it would be funny

8. YUBABA PLZ

Come onnnn, join the hunters, you know you want to!!! Cruella is a truly heinous villain but she also is a villain who slays. She would be so fun like just imagine her rubbing shoulders with Gen or making deals with Smee! She brings her own fabulous flair to the shady world of poaching and I would like to see it.

I'm sorry. I wish I could help. But, unfortunately, there's a screen & possibly hundreds of miles between us. I hope things get easier.

I was gonna go into how she would likely see such behavior & how it'd affect her to realize that these people fear her, are afraid of what she'll do to them (which I think she'd be horrified by), but I blinked & forgot. Like a goldfish or a chicken.

Something also to consider is how Zelda's thoughts about her family would change as she learns more about what her family did to them & how it still affects them all this time after.

Also, did you know that Colin translates to whelp, cub, or young hound in Irish? That's adorable! XD

And, it's funny, I always saw the Interlopers as a Sheikah splinter cell much like the Yiga, just one that eventually learned to not be such asses. That they just adapted to the Twilight Realm. Don't know if you read my "Twili & the Sols" post.

So, from my perspective, I kinda find it ironic that the Wolfbred revere Midna & possibly the Twili, yet very much don't like the Sheikah.

It also makes me wonder how things would go if the Wild in LU were this Wild. How that would affect things.

I love how I've ran through the scene where a Sheikah and Wolfbred interact for the first time since the exile began probably twenty times in my head

Sorry for replying so late! This topic is not something I've explored a lot. So it gave me some thinking to do. It’s not incredibly organized but hey \o/

I like to think his relationship with luso nations is mostly positive nowadays. But of course it wasn't always so. Port may have had severe attachment issues despite trying to play it cool every time one of them decided to "storm out the door". Because that's what it felt like to him. 'Oh so you're leaving, then. Fine.'🙄  When in reality we all know he felt like shit for a while. He tried to keep his kids close to the very end of the 20th century (1999 with Macau!) always believing he was in the right. Think a little, Port. ;;;; I know living under a past glorifying dictatorship for so long did not help. Fortunately I think his mind started to clear near the 60s and since then he's been trying his utmost best to undo his wrongs even if he knows it’s not totally possible and that he'll never be 100% forgiven. He accepts this and moves on.

On a lighter note, he loves all of the luso nations equally but he likes to say Macau is his favourite because it makes Brazil pout melodramatically. You don't see any of the others have this reaction. He's just messing with you Lu. He's going to squeeze your cheeks next! I think he's one of those dads... he trolls too much and thinks his dad humour is incredible and understandable by everyone. What's a generational gap? If you don't think it's funny then he's happy to laugh at his own jokes.

Yes he messes with them but he's also very proud of their growth. I don't buy him being insecure about their achievements in comparison to his. He knows he's old and it's their time to shine now. He's very supportive! And very caring. He keeps in touch often.

He has a lot of respect for Angola. She has centuries of knowledge and life experience on him (he knows she can deck him without breaking a sweat 🙃) Tbh I'd love to hear these two chatting about whatever topic because they're both so wise. Port is also happy to be schooled.

They ALL make fun of his accent. He replies by showing them a different one every time it happens or just laughs it off. One time he changed to Brazilian Portuguese mid sentence (he's very good with accents and languages in general) and it was so seamless that everyone just. 🧍 

Luci still said it was terrible. Actually so cringe. 🤢

If there is one topic that everyone can agree on is that the food is amazing at any of their places. Not a single bad cook in this family. They pass recipes around all the time.

I want to read fic where Port and Cape Verde go surfing together. Or sailing. Or fishing. I know this seems so very specific but. 🥺 They both love the sea so much. I think it'd be adorable. I also think it's one of his favourite vacation spots.

And speaking of Portugal and Cape Verde, I want to believe Fado and Morna are connected in some way. Not sure how. They're both eerily similar in their melancholy. (I had a boyfriend that was Cape Verdean and I remember theorizing about this topic aaa) This video explains it pretty well. It’s in portuguese, though. Maybe they can sing sad songs together. ;v;

Mozambique is used to Port just straight up showing up unannounced and it's because he wants to see the elephants. He won't even say hi first noooo. He's so eager to get trampled first thing in the morning. His obsession with the animals is weird ok. Old man found half dead at the Gorongosa national park. Squashed by a baby elephant and its angry mom. /SIGH which hospital is he at this time. I thought it was Cape Verde's turn to have him this year.

...AAAND I want to talk about all the other luso nations too but I’ll have to try and remember more headcanons so I think maybe I'll keep adding to this post overtime! Thanks for the ask I love answering questions about Port (and the nations that he cares about the most <3)
