54 + any ship?

It’d been a long day of training. The students seemed to have been a little more energized than usual. Phoenix didn’t know if it was because they were finally getting some rest, or if it was because someone spiked the lunch with something. Probably a mix of the two.

As she finished changing out of her hero costume, Phoenix leaned against the locker, closing her eyes and taking in the silence. The room was pleasantly cool to the touch. Even the air had an unusual crispness to it. It was a nice change from the usually overheated shower steam that caked and clung desperately to the walls. 

Though the cool feeling didn’t stay for long.

“Hey there sexy~.”

Before Phoenix could react, Midnight was leaning beside her, tilting her chin up and stealing a kiss. Phoenix’s eyes went wide as she blushed. She couldn’t think. All there was, all there was going to be, was a burning sensation.

“Nemuri!” she wined. “Why you gotta keep sneaking up on me?”

Midnight gave a half hearted pout. “I’m so sorry, sweetums. But you looked so damn cute leaning against the locker there. I couldn’t help myself.”

Phoenix tried very hard not to cave. “I still haven’t forgiven you for stealing my dessert from the fridge.”

“I said I was sorry!”

“Yeah, well, sorry ain’t enough, sugarlips.”

Midnight squirmed. “Ooooh I love it when you take charge. So, what should I do to earn your forgiveness?”

“Oh hush.” Phoenix rolled her eyes. It was very hard to stay mad at Midnight for long. “I guess if you want to earn my forgiveness...I have a few ideas.” She raised her hands as Midnight went for another kiss. “You have to go a full week without any innuendos or sexual comments.”

Midnight blinked, her face looking like she’d just been slapped. “But...but that’s my brand!”

“I guess I’ll never forgive you then, dessert thief.” Phoenix tried not to laugh as she saw Midnight squirm away.  It was clear she was enjoying this way more than she should have been. 

God I love Nemuri.

“One week, and all is forgiven?”

“Absolutely.”

“Then I’ll do it! I’ll tell the others right away!!!”

Phoenix smiled and watched her run out of the locker rooms to tell the rest of the staff.

She won’t last a day.
