So the thing about werewolf romances (or any monster romance) is that it must engage with its own premise whole heartedly, or the entire thing comes unraveled. The personification of lust as monster is the Point. Desire as something demonized and yet indivorceable from the characters is the Point.

In order to have a story that doesn’t fall completely flat on its face, you have to first acknowledge werewolves’ place as a cultural touchstone, a shorthand for the id.

It’s not enough to dress up a story with the trope. Use that trope to its full potential, or I will believe it was 100% a tiktok-too good for pulp romance-cash grab
