warning I'm about to be like it COULD be that deep about the cw's supernatural but anyway it's so interesting to me how hell functions on the show as both a literal and metaphorical place...that according to eric kripke "[the] show is a show about family, and family is hell." but on supernatural hell also exists as a literal place where actual torture does occur, so it's simultaneously this kind of idea of a hell on earth and a literal hell beyond that. so what chance does one have of escaping hell when it's so all encompassing?
