Hii, i've noticed that you started answering asks (I love asking people questions via asks) and I was wondering how you see brian and mac rivalry/relationship together, are there any headcanons or ideas you would like to share? :)

It's a comedic rivalry. just two nerds fighting it out but it never really goes anywhere because they're stubborn to conclude it.

I think that mac is very particular about his broadcasts, so much so that he has a script he reads so it doesn't mess up. this also means that he finds it very hard to deal with interruptions (with the exception of very specific cases).

Then that day happens when his broadcast is interrupted by that thing [the thinker]. and ooh he is fighting with anger, but he has to keep his calm and mysterious demeanor to the toon resistance (and he also refuses to slip and let it be known that he was annoyed by a cog). he finds brian to be annoying and frustrating. likewise, brian finds mac to be very bothersome ("that bumbing toon that calls himself an 'intelligence master'").

Brian makes it a point to try to hack into any future broadcasts and it eventually turns into a "this guy again" type deal. unfortunately for brian, as the security increases it becomes harder to do so. it keeps him busy though.

I like to think one time brian realized mac had an account on a website of sorts and tried to hack into it. but he had to brute force it and it didnt work (he was not joyous). mac received tons of security emails that day.

They're both surprisingly smart, but it's balanced out by their lacking of common sense and/or general social cues. and they also overthink everything, which is translated into any sort of battle. they're spending 30 minutes on a single turn and it ends up going nowhere, much to the dismay of anyone who had the unfortunate joy of accompanying them.

Any verbal conflict is paragraphs upon paragraphs of text, that often just goes in circles. if one of them dares to slip up (usually brian because i think itd be funny), its caught instantly.

Eventually i think they begin to tolerate each other more (theres only so many times you can go in circles about something). sorrythis wasnt supposed to go on for this long um. oops.
