now as much as i deeply appreciated how cool and sexy earth 2 iris was, earth 1 iris is already extremely cool and sexy. there is an imbalance in the multiverse. i think to compliment nerdy, sweater vest-wearing earth 2 barry, they should have given us an equally anxious and nerdy earth 2 iris. it only seems fair
#my version of earth 2 iris is strongly reminiscent of harleen quinzell in the flashbacks in suicide squad#i'm thinking pokemon professor chic#blazers with suspenders and enormous round glasses#she babbles and falls over her words#and instead of pointing her gun at all the evil metas#she is making notes and recording on her dictaphone and trying to psychologically profile them#as part of her PhD thesis#because yet another travesty is that in the OG draft of the pilot iris wasn't a journalist. she was in criminal psych#another FASCINATING idea that would have totally have changed the direction of the show#imagine how funny it would be if instead of trying to interview barry on rooftops iris had been trying to give him psychotherapy#which honestly is probably a fair response to whatever the fuck season 1 barry had going on#i mean the man runs around in a tight red suit saving people. even without taking the dead mother into the equation he was CLEARLY unhinged#barry catches on to what she's trying to do IMMEDIATELY because he remembers when she took her first psych class#and like all intro to psychology students she immediately tried to psychoanalyse every single person she met#it's a rite of passage. barry knows the drill#and he's exasperated but it's also adorable so he can't even be mad#anyway i digress#in this universe where nerd barry has an equally nerdy pokemon professor-looking wife#tell me barry wouldn't have instantly moved to earth 2 like sorry earth 2 barry but i am just gonna have to steal your wife#i mean look at her. you understand#earth 2 barry's like yeah honestly that's fair#my headcanons
