Why do people downplay Chuuyas role in Dazais life so much and why do they mischaracterize him a lot?
They also make it seem like Chuuya is nothing without Dazai as if he doesn't have his own set of colleagues and friends that have nothing to do with Dazai.
I hate those fics where they make Chuuya be extra sad and full on break down mode after Dazai leaves because that's so OC. They focus on the Oda-Dazai thing to make it seem tragic but do they forget this is Nakahara Chuuya who made a deal with the devil (Dazai/Port Mafia) just so his "friends" who stabbed him in the back could be safe?? He wouldn't blink if Dazai left cause of Oda cause he, of all people, knows the importance of friendship.
The death of his group of friends cemented his place in the Mafia while the death of Oda made Dazai leave.
ngl skk shippers who make Chuuya unnecessarily dependent on Dazai and act like he's some uwu gay sad boy make me so mad. No one mischaracterizes Chuuya more than skk shippers.
The last line you wrote is so true. I personally think Chuuya was simply mad at Dazai for leaving without a word, to hold him in such low regard that he thought Chuuya wouldn't understand why he was leaving. But maybe he was a bit sad too. Was their bond so unimportant to Dazai that instead of leaving a letter, he left a bomb? Did he not consider him a friend? Was all these years of partnership just an act? All that.
(my delulu ass also believes they actually stayed in contact after Dazai left. The dungeon reunion did not feel like a reunion.)
As for your first question, why do people mischaracterize Chuuya so much? It's because 1) you'll be surprised how many bsd stans are literal kids with undeveloped media literacy, 2) the bsd wiki page sucks. People read the light novels with their eyes closed and 3) there are weird shippers who only watch this show to fetishize the gay ships and they have the worst takes ever. You and I can't do anything about it unfortunately.

thank you for the answer! i was the anon who asked you about 4* and sethos (maybe I'll use this emoji 🛸 so you can identify me easier)
Sorry I'm replying late as well, life is hectic 😭😭
And omg you main Noelle??? what's your build? i'm trying to build her again since i used her at the start of the game and didn't take her past lvl 60... She deserves better 😭
AND I ALSO LOVE GAMING OMG HE TOOK MY HEART. I literally c6-ed him and spend so many primos on him 😭😭 that's ok tho he deserved it. I also love Chongyun he's my special son. Got him at the start of the game so he was my first main 🥺 alongside him my faves are heizou, fischl, yanfei, gaming, faruzan, layla... well theres many of them lol. and recently sethos! I love his dynamic with everyone. Actually sumeru characters feel like family it might be my fav region for that. I was shocked when he had bigger connection to scara. I love the black cat and golden retriever dynamic they kinda have going on and their parallels.
also yes please do a favorite character list i would love to see it!
Have a nice day and sorry for the shorter reply. It's just I'm busy 😭 maybe I can send you more asks next week when I'll have more time. If you don't mind that's it. Or maybe I could stop being anon.
Hello 🛸 Anonie!! I'm super sorry for the super late response T-T I have already addressed it in one post, but I have been super busy filling and paying for my next year (banks are truly my no. 1 public enemy,,,), a few trips back and forth to see friends (I stayed in a place with minimal internet signal for more than a week TnT, among other trips) and doing a lot of house chores because all my household members except for me are working, so I clean all the house (which I don't mind, but there's a lot of work and too much heat T.T and I end up in my bed after everything lol).
I do main Noelle! I went to see my stats and realized I have to get her a better crit rate percentage because she does so much crit dmg... I use 4p Husk of Opulent Dreams + Prototype Archaic (I have seen guides saying that Whiteblind is better, so I might sacrifice my lvl. 90 Prototype Archaic for Whiteblind and change one piece of my artifacts so it has better rate,, choices choices) I will add images below cut!!
To preface this, I am not a meta player so take my opinions with a grain of salt lolol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So much dmg,, so little rate,,,,,,, I usually take whatever piece to add that element dmg, in this case Gladiator.
My favorite region is def Mondstadt, but Sumeru is my second one!! I like all the character dynamics and exploration in Sumeru, both rainforest and desert (unpopular opinion, it seems (≧∇≦)/) also the lore?? Absolutely fantastic. And Sethos? He has been incorporated to the fave characters very quickly, I loved his interactions with Cyno and whatever he has going on with Wanderer lolol Like wise, I loved Gaming, such a cutie and honestly a real good guy, he became one of my favorites very soon.
I ended up making a ranking with only four stars (as to make it fair), but only lore/storytelling wise, since meta is dead anyways (/j) and how hoyo managed their reveal and relevance (?) I think seeing the rankings will explain mostly everything but if you have any questions please feel free to ask!!
Tumblr media
(I want to say that I like all the characters, I am a person who finds it east to love characters lol)
In no particular order, except for Noelle and Xingqiu, who are the uncrowned queen and king of my heart and party and Xinyan. Pls hoyo release my queen from hoyo jail. Criminal that they did a event about music and my girl wasn't in it.
I have to say that I am guilty of not doing most of the hangouts, so my ranking can change after them. I foresaw me being tired from playing genshin, so I am only hyperfocusing on the characters that are more interesting to me first and when this gaming block disperses, I am going to do the hangouts and enjoy them lol
IT'S ME WHO IS SORRY ╥﹏╥ I kept this ask for sooo long ajdkashjashda pls send me more asks, I love reading and answering them 👉👈❤ they are very fun!
On my side, I don't mind if you want to stop being anon! I would love to interact with more people from the genshin comunity, even if it is a bit scary❤ so take your time and do as you wish, I will be happy either way 🤭

HCs-ish; Leon, Raihan, Kabu
Bad week
Anonie requested: ❝Hi I’ve been feeling kind of meh for a few weeks so if it’s not too much could we get how leon, Raihan, Kabu or whoever you like would relax with an s/o who has a hard time expressing they’re upset and just want to be in their company? (Idk I see a lot of comfort posts about s/o crying or whatever and I don’t really do that so it kills it for me sorry if this is weird feel free to ignore if u want)❞
This is late and I KNOW WHO REQUESTED THIS NOW WHICH HAS ME OUT HERE FEELING LOWKEY WORSE THATS ITS LATE.
Also! You can talk to me if ever needed, fam. Lots of love to you!
You all, I'm running out of anime to watch in the background. Now I'm watching Fire Force because I got lots of ads on Crunchyroll about it.
Enjoy!
Kabu:
Persevering is always going to be difficult, no matter how much motivation you may have. Weeks get challenging and despite your frustrations, expressing them has been just as difficult as obstacles you face. In fact, showing that you were upset was an obstacle on it's own. All you wanted was for someone to look at you, see that you were in need of comfort without crying or saying something, for someone to know you enough to say, I know you need me so relax.
A good thing about a relationship is that two people get to know each other and their mannerisms. Just like how you knew when Kabu had a bad day, he knows when you're having a bad day as well. He isn't the type to go up to a person and ask though, he feels that it'll make the other person uncomfortable. He prefers that they tell him whenever they feel ready to talk about whatever was bothering them. After this mood extended over a week, he still didn't say anything directly, you both were sitting together and he just held you.
"You are doing great, love. You have been working hard and its acknowledged by many." He kisses the top of your head comfortingly. "Keep that in mind."
All you did was nod in response. You were being embraced by not only his arms but by his presence as well. Being in his company brought you such a huge amount of comfort and his words caused a warm feeling to spread across your chest. It brought you a genuine smile that couldn't be found during the tough week you just had.
"Thank you," You said lowly. He squeezed your arm gently in response then started rubbing his thumb up and down your shoulder. This was the rest of the day, you and Kabu sitting together. Slowly feeling better by being with him and having him hold you.
Raihan:
These weeks have been draining, not in difficulty, they haven't been eventful, they were bland in a way and that has its own way of making each day a tiring one. You didn't know what to do about this upsetting feeling that had settled over your entire body. You let it linger without bringing it up to the person that could probably help with your emotions.
Raihan notices the fall in mood and doesn't ask at first. He provides comfort through hand-holding and a lot of kisses scattered on your face, by increasing the amount of times he does this he provides what he can. Although at some point he does sit them down and hold their hands, asking them if they have been alright.
"Just alright." That answered his assumptions and he made an effort to liven up your day in any small way that he could. You appreciated what he did, you adored him for it, but you wanted him to lay down with you and be there. That's all you wanted right now.
"Ya know, you're amazing, (Name)," He says this out of the blue. Seeing you come in with a small frown, as you've been doing for a while, then lay down and not even face him has been common this week. "Also I may have broken the clock, look."
You turned your body in bed to see, but there was no broken clock. It was Raihan sporting a smirk that caused one of his fangs to poke out. You stuffed your face into the pillow for a moment before giving a breathy chuckle and looking at him again. This time he had his arms open, silently asking you to come closer and that's what you did. You rolled into his arms, causing him to laugh a bit.
"You're so cute," He says. He holds you firmly against him, his chin settled on your head as he continues his compliments. He kept whispering things he loved about you until your eyes closed and you were asleep.
Hearing all of that and remembering it for the rest of the week was a definite mood changer. Thinking about it whenever things got tough was truly motivating and you felt lucky to have Raihan.
Leon:
He is quick to notice when you're upset, he's used to picking up on how others feel whether it be in his friendships or business relationships. Unfortunately for him, you had no real reason for being upset. You wake up okay because Leon's right there next to you, by the afternoon you come home ready to hurt someone, but end up okay again because Leon's there. That has been going for the week, feeling upset and overwhelmed for no big reason. Although you may be in denial and completely shutting out whatever was putting a damper on your mood.
If he sees something is wrong he will approach and try to offer help. It's how he lives his life and it applied to you as well, he wants to make you happy no matter what. Almost to a point where he forgets he's allowed to feel upset too, and you're the same as him in that aspect. You both tend to catch each other doing it though so it doesn't make the relationship difficult.
"Have you been having a bad week, (Name)?" You stare at him after hearing his question, unable to give him a response. "You've had this look on your face--" He places his thumb between your brows and pushes downward, causing them to furrow.
"You're going to cause early wrinkles on my face, dummy." You grab his wrist and move his hand, instead of his thumb between your brows, you made it so his palm was on your cheek and your hand was over his.
"Bold of you to assume that I care if you have a wrinkle here and there before I do," He retorts. You laughed, feeling both complimented and insulted by him. "If you're feeling better and if you want to, can you tell me what's wrong?" Your laughter slowly died down, you were still feeling much better even after the question so you answered it honestly.
"It's hard to explain, I'm not sure how to tell you or express what's wrong but I know that being with you makes me feel good," You pause before continuing, "Did that make sense?"
"Just enough," He replied. Truly though, it made sense. He understood how you felt and if just being around him helped you then he would make sure he could be with you whenever he was able to.
One of his favorite things to do with you is cuddling under a blanket. If it's too hot you might separate from him but remain holding hands or having your legs tangled with his. He loved laid back relaxing time with you, includes a nice walk, or finding a secluded place of the Wild Area. As long as you're with him it doesn't matter who or what bothered you, it hardly happened once you get to be with Leon.

Hey!! I just wanted to ask if you could write a Harry x evie fic, maybe one where they're trying to hide their relationship from their friends? Thanks!!
Oh Anony, this was so much fun to write. Thank you for the prompt. Here you are, hope you enjoy it.
Title: Subtle you are not AKA The Five Times Evie and Harry tried to keep their relationship a secret Plus the one time they failed.Word Count: 3216Rated: G.Note: On AO3
I. Ben
Ben knew he was late. The appointment he’d set up with Evie had been for noon, but of course the meeting with the council had went over the allotted time. Grumpy having taken an instant dislike to something Genie had suggested and things only escalated from there. Ben had to defuse the situation before things got out of hand.
Fifteen minutes later and he finally arrived at Evie’s dormroom. He only hoped she wasn’t too angry with him for making her wait. Ben knocked lightly to announce his presence, giving the doorknob a quick twist, surprised when the door didn’t budge. He waited a moment and listened only to hear a soft giggle followed by someone shushing another.
“Evie, I’m sorry that I’m late. The meeting got a little hairy towards the end but I was able to settle things. I hope you aren’t mad. Evie?” Ben’s smile wilted, staring at the closed door, “if you’re busy I can come back another time.” Another giggle was his only response. The young king just making out some rustling before Evie gave him an answer.
“No, it’s fine Ben. I was just working on another commission. Give me a second and I’ll let you in.”
Ben nodded, despite knowing she couldn’t see him. Rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet, the king waited, greeting any student who happened to pass by.
“Sorry for making you wait, Ben,” an innocent smile graced Evie’s lips as she pulled open the door. Ben’s brow rose as he took in her appearance. Her normally perfect hair was in disarray, though it looked like she had tried to calm it down before answering the door. The top she wore was slightly skewed, delicate hands quickly working to smooth out a few wrinkles.
He waved her off her apology with a smile, thinking nothing more of it, “no I’m sorry. We made this appointment and I was the one late.”
“Yer majesty,” Harry cooly addressed from where he lounged on Evie’s bed, giving the king pause. If he noticed the lack of boots and socks on the pirates feet, he didn’t say a thing.
“Don’t mind him,” Evie reached for his hand, pulling him towards the little platform for him to stand. Ben didn’t miss how her eyes lit up when she looked at the pirate. “He was helping me with one of my latest orders.”
She waved to the beautiful blue cape draped across Mal’s bed.
“For Chad?”
Evie nodded, ignoring the snort that came from her bed, “how can you tell?”
Ben laughed, “peacock feathers gave it away.”
Evie clapped her hands together, “right! Well let’s get started on that new suit!”
II. Gil
Gil growled in frustration. He just wasn’t getting this problem. Now that he was in Auradon he was getting much but with his studies. There were still a lot he couldn’t grasp yet, like this damn chemistry problem. He’d been trying to do it on his own for five minutes now, but he wasn’t having any luck. Thank god, Evie had come over to help him and Harry with their work.
“Evie, I still don’t get this,” Gil mumbled, looking up from the worksheet.
The blue haired princess didn’t reply. Instead all her attention was focused on Harry, the pair sitting impossibly close. Evie’s hand rested casually on the pirates knee and Harry’s arm was draped loosely around her shoulder. She giggled to something he couldn’t hear, the brightest smile on her lips as she looked into Harry’s eyes.
“You know,” Gil coughed, head tilting to one side as he observed them. They jumped apart, Evie making as much space between them as she could as Harry scowled at him. “You two would make a pretty cute couple.”
Evie giggled nervously, tucking a strand of her behind her ear, “we wouldn’t. We are far to different.”
He only shrugged, “I think you fit pretty well. Harry behaves best when you’re around. Your friendship is good for him.”
“Hey!” Harry growled, fingering drumming angrily against the top of his knee, “ye need to shut up.”
Gil watched silently as Evie’s fingers brushed against Harry’s arm, his friend’s anger  instantly melting away. Harry huffed, looking back at the girl from the corner of his eye. “See,” he exclaimed, hands thrusted out towards them, “if I didn’t know any better I’d think you two were already dating.”
Evie caught one of his hands in her, giving it a gently pat, “don’t be silly, Gil.”
He frowned, “I may not be the brightest but I’m pretty damn observant.”
And he was. He noticed things and there had to something more here. They acted so different around each other. How couldn’t someone assume anything else.
“Didn’t ye have a question ye needed answered?” Harry drawled.
Gil blinked, looking down at his forgotten worksheet. How could he forget? All thoughts about Evie and Harry’s questionable relationship leaving his mind, “Right! Evie, I can’t wrap my brain around this problem.”
He moved closer to the girl, missing the relieved looks passed between the pair.
III. Jay
Jay was going to kill him. Harry was late to R.O.A.R practice yet again, the third time that week. If he wasn’t such a great asset to the team, he was sure Lonnie would have kicked him off the team and if he keeps it up she just might. She wouldn’t blame her if she decided too.
He doesn’t get why he’s the one being sent out to try and find the skeevy pirate when Gil or even Uma could go and hunt for him. He was their best friend after all, but no apparently it was his job to babysit the other boy.
He was beginning to imagine all the ways he could mess with the pirate during practice when he heard the giggling. The tourney field was empty with most the players in the gym for R.O.A.R practice, but that was definitely a giggle coming from the bleachers. He’d hate to scare whoever it was but he really needed to find Harry before Lonnie killed him.
“Harry, you’re going to be late” a familiar voice giggled.
“Few more minutes,” Harry’s thick drawl answered, “they won’t miss me.”
Busted. Jay grinned, making a beeline for the bleachers. “Think you’re so smooth. Let’s go Casanova.” Jay frowned when the pair came into sight. Evie’s back was pressed against the frame of the bleachers with Harry’s arm overhead as he leaned in. The pair stared back at  him wide-eyed.
Jay’s brow rose in question, arms crossing over his chest, “this is new.”
Evie smiled innocently at him as Harry slowly took a step away from her, “Jay, how are you?”
“Oh I was great. All ready for R.O.A.R practice but you know we’re missing a member so I had to go out and hunt him down,” Jay glared pointedly at the grinning pirate.
Harry shrugged, “What can I say mate? Princess needed help with some lines. What kind of pirate would I be if I didn’t help.”
Jay scowled at him, glancing between the two. Evie’s cheeks had a much darker tint to them than normal and Jay hadn’t missed the anger that had lurked in Harry’s eyes when he interrupted. He was being lied to.
“Pirates aren’t helpful,” he snapped back, “ but whatever. Lonnie wants you to stop being late to practice. So if I can steal you away for a few hours, you can come back and finish whatever THIS is.”
Evie straightened herself, leaning up to whisper something quickly to the pirate. Jay’s eyes narrowed as Harry nodded, a soft expression creeping into his eyes as the girl walked away from her.
“We were just finishing up. Good luck with practice!” She gave his arm a friendly pat, humming happily to herself as she left.
Jay turned a questioning brow to Harry, the pirate simply tossing an irritating grin his way with a shrug.
“Can’t keep sweet Lonnie waitin’ can we?”
IV. Carlos
Carlos was going to kill him. He could have sworn Jay had made Chad return all the spare keys he had made of the room. But he he was only a few steps away from his opened door. Jay was off running R.O.A.R strategies with Lonnie and Li’l Shang. Mal and Evie normally let them know ahead of time if they were going to invade the room, so there was clearly only one possible person. Chad apparently held out on them.
“Chad I swear to all that’s high that I’m just going to let Jay pummel you,” Carlos ranted, ready to give his own pummeling to the invasive Prince, “you aren’t Chad.” He frowned, staring at the familiar red covered back. The pirate groaned, hastily closing something in front of him before glaring at Carlos from over his shoulder.
“Last I checked, mate, I wasn’t that pompous prince.”
“I can see that, mate,” Carlos mocked, taking the briefest steps back when Harry turned to face him. The shorter boy squared his shoulders, head held high like Jay taught him. This was his room and Harry was the trespasser, he couldn’t show fear. “But seriously man, what are you doing in my room? How’d you even get in here?” Carlos quickly looked at the doorknob to see if it’d be tempered with.
Harry rolled his eyes and turned away, palms flat on the table housing the 3D printer, “got a key.”
Unbelievable. He really need to talk to Ben about possibly installing some sort of alarm system for their room. He was getting tired of the unwanted visitors.
“What are you making anyway?” Carlos approached, disappointed when Harry reached into the machine and quickly snatched the item inside. It was small, fitting perfectly into the pirate’s palm.
“It’s nothing for ye to worry about pup,” Harry carefully tucked the item away, “if ye don’t mind I have some place to be.” The pirate left with a tip of his hat.
Carlos shook his head, hurrying to his machine to find a folded piece of paper lying beside the controller. Curious Carlos unfolded it surprised to see the design for a ring; one with a braided ring band and a heart shaped sapphire in the middle with four tiny leaf shaped rubies on both sides. It was beautiful and Carlos could only imagine the cost if Harry had actually bought a real one. Above the ring he could just make out the pirate’s sloppy handwriting, Evie.
“That belongs to me,” Harry growled, snatching the paper from Carlos’ hand, he clenched it tightly, “what did ye see?”
Carlos rose his hands in surrender, “she’s going to love it.”
Harry gave a slight shrug, “ah agree. CJ will love it.”
“No, I meant…you made it for Evie, right?” Carlos asked, watching as Harry’s frown deepened, “it might not be the real thing, but she’ll love it. Giving it to her for her birthday?”
Harry scoffed, crumpling the paper in his hand before stuffing into his back pocket, “it’s for me sister, not the little blue berry princess.”
“Right,” Carlos sounded unconvinced. He knows what he saw, but if Harry wants to play he’d let him. The pirate snarled in response, leaving in a flourish of angry red.
V. Mal and Uma
Mal growled, punching her pillow angrily. Sitting up evil glared at the other girl through the darkness. Evie froze on her way to the door.
“You need to work on your sneaking skills, E,” Mal deadpanned, watching her best friend sag in defeat, “Evie, where are you going at this hour?”
“Dizzy just has a bit of an emergency,” Evie answered, as she continued towards the door, “I’ll only be a few minutes. Promise!”
The girl was out the door before Mal could disagree. Mal frowns, concerned over her friends’ strange behaviour. For the last few days, Evie had been sneaking out at ungodly hours. She thought she was sneaky but everytime Mal had woken up and just let her go. Not tonight. She didn’t believe for a second that Dizzy needed her at two am. Mal was up and out of bed in minutes, she needed to hurry before Evie got too far ahead. It would defeat the purpose if she lost her target before finding out what she needed to know.
As quiet as a mouse Mal followed her blue loving best friend, Evie glancing this way and that as she made her way through the corridors. Where are you going that you’re so worried about being followed? Mal wondered as Evie continued to look over her shoulder. The girl stopped just outside the double doors leading to the kitchen, she gave one final look around before a hand shot out pulling her in.
Mal frowned, rushing forward to help her friend. Throwing open the door, Mal glanced around in confession. The kitchen was empty. Everything left untouched. Where was Evie?
“Gotcha now, Harry!” Uma whispered, the young sea-witch scowling at the sight of Mal, “what are you doing here?”
“Looking for Evie,” Mal answered, crossing her arms, “not that it’s any of your business. Lose your first mate?”
Uma mimicked her pose, head held high and arms crossed, “he’s been sneaking out. I wanted to see what he’s been off doing.”
Mal hummed, glancing around the kitchen once more hoping for some evidence of Evie to pop up, “Evie’s been disappearing to. I followed her into the kitchen, but clearly,” she waved her arms out around her, “no Evie.”
“And no Harry,” Uma grumbled.
“You don’t think they went off together?” Mal’s nose scrunched up in distaste, holding up a hand to stop Uma from answering, “Ew, actually don’t answer that. I don’t want to know what they’re doing. Not at two in morning. I’m going back to bed and giving her the benefit of the doubt. I’ll bother her about it later. For now I need to keep my sanity.”
Uma could only laugh as Mal brushed pass her in a hurry.
+ VI. Busted
“Careful Princess,” Harry laughed, catching her before she fell.
Evie silently cursed the raised branch that caused her to trip. She supposed it was bound to happen at least once as they made their way to the Enchanted Lake, her excitement getting the better of her. But Harry steadied her, his hand securely in hers as they continued down the path. She sighed happily, taking in the beauty of the forest at the went.
After hearing all about Ben’s first date with Mal, Evie had wanted nothing more than to see the Lake for herself, especially with someone she cared for. And here she was, hand in hand with her boyfriend going to that very spot. She hadn’t expected much for her birthday. Actually she expected nothing at all, but Harry surprised her with the most beautiful ring. One she already had on her finger to admire. She knew it wasn’t real. But it was a promise, a promise of so much more. Evie thought the ring was all but Harry had just laughed, taking her hand and leading her out of Auradon Prep. A picnic he had said, teasing her over her sappy desire. She was beside herself.
“There it is, love,” Harry pressed a kiss to the top of her head.
Evie gasped. It was just as gorgeous as Mal had described it. The water was so clear she could see all the colorful rocks beneath. The remains of a stone gazebo stood decorated with a Happy Birthday banner, blue and red streamers lacing down each of the three stone pillars with matching balloons securely tethered down to rocks. In the center, three large picnic baskets sat over a glittering blue blanket.
“Harry, it’s beautiful. You did all this for me?” She gave his hand a squeeze, turning to face him confusion dancing over his feature.
“Well I did do th-” she reached up, standing on her tiptoes to promptly cut him off with a kiss. It was sweet and tender, making her wish they could stay like this forever.
“Surprise!”
They drew apart, staring wide-eyed at the various teens coming out of hiding. Popping up from behind bushes and stepping out from behind trees, their friends stared back with various expressions.
“Bloody hell! We can’t get a moment’s peace from ye lot” Harry cursed, glaring. Evie blushed, burying her face into the lapels of Harry’s leather jacket.
“Called it” Uma gleefully announced, wiggling her fingers at Mal, “pay up.” Mal grumbled, passing over a few bills.
“What are you guys doing here?” Evie asked, her question muffled.
Carlos rubbed the back of his neck, “we wanted to throw you a surprise party for your birthday, but we couldn’t figure out where we wanted to have it. Gil kept hearing Harry mutter about surprising you at the Enchanted Lake so we figured why not. We got the decorations up and we’ve been waiting.”
Evie smiled, finally facing her friends, “how sweet of you guys. Thank you.” Harry’s arm wound around her waist, “so this wasn’t you?”
Harry stared at something of to the side, “ah made a picnic for us. The rest all ‘em apparently.”
She couldn’t help the laughter the bubbled from within at his pout. Forgetting about the current audience, Evie took his face between her hands and gently pulled him down. The pirate rested his forehead against hers, he took one of her hands in his and kissed her palm.
“It’s great to finally have this all confirmed,” Carlos exclaimed, “and you gave her the ring! I told you she’d love it.”
The spell temporarily broken, Evie pulled away to turn back to her friends. “You knew about us?”
Jay scoffed, “you two aren’t exactly subtle about it.”
Evie sighed in disappointment, “I thought we were doing a pretty good job at hiding it.”
Harry shrugged, “I wasn’t really tryin’ to hide.”
Mal walked up to the pair, taking Evie’s hand in hers as she gently pulled her out of Harry’s arms. “E, why did you think you need to hide your relationship with Harry?”
“We…I thought it was for the best,” Evie smiled, sadly, “there’s still a bit of a riff between all of us. I didn’t want to cause anything to trigger anything war.”
Ben smiled reassuringly, the young kid coming to Mal’s side and taking Evie’s other hand in his. “Evie, we want nothing more than for you to be happy.”
“And if that’s with Harry,” Uma having made her own way over to Harry’s side, gave her first mate a playful jab in the ribs with a teasing grin, “and heaven only knows why, than be happy.”
“You guys,” Evie gave Ben and Mal’s hand a squeeze, tears blurring her vision.
“E don’t cry. It’s your birthday.”
Mal swept the girl into a tight hug. Evie’s face pressed into the girl’s shoulder, those pesky tears of joy not wanting to stop. She sighed happily as a familiar warm presence stood behind her, his arms wrapping securely around her waist as he rested his head on hers. One of by her friends surrounded them, just becoming a big entanglement of limbs as they all wished congratulations and support.
Best Birthday Ever.

No one told you just how tedious and time consuming being a Champion would be. No wonder the former one appears much less stressed, the poor guy barely had time for his family on this schedule. You were constantly on the move and everyone wanted to talk to you. Leon came around to check on you after you had sent him a text saying, "Help, why are they coming for my life, I have a shit to do."
"Your schedule is very full," He said, looking at you apologetically. "There should be a warning before people try to become Champion, this is a workload that would surely scare off a lot of trainers."
"I don't even have time for my hobbies!" You flip the page to your schedule and half of next month was already full. "I'm lucky enough to manage a call to my mom and one of the only times I see Kabu is when I am going home in the middle of the night." You were surprised the man hasn't decided to leave you. You would completely understand if he couldn't handle being with someone so busy.
"I was undefeated for a very long time," Leon starts explaining. "Your schedule is much fuller than mine was because you beat someone that no one else could for many years. Even those older than me and with perhaps more experience couldn't defeat me."
"You're telling me your schedule wasn't this hectic?" You stared down at the calendar, realizing that talking to Leon was going to get cut short anytime soon.
"It was hectic definitely. Not like this." Leon gave you a comforting pat on your shoulder. "The workload will lessen later on, not sure by how much but you can only repeat a story for so long before people get bored. Then you have to worry about people trying to force a story to happen. At least you have off time when the Gym Challenge is not at large."
"I'm going to lose to the next challenger on purpose," You said. It got a chuckle out of Leon who raised a brow at you, questioning the honesty of your statement. "Or not." You sighed. "Too many benefits outweighing the negatives right now. Well, I'm happy you're able to have more time for other projects Leon!"
"Thank you... Champion."
You were getting many challengers nowadays. People who couldn't defeat Leon come back thinking they can defeat you, plenty of Challengers coming for your title, and new ones in the making. You had a lot of paperwork as well, surprisingly enough. A lot of interviews, so many damn interviews, and your privacy? Almost completely gone. You were grateful for having been with Kabu since before you even challenged the Gyms to attempt being Champion.
Unfortunately your relationship with him was outed rather quickly because of that though. Even if it was a secret, the ring on a specific finger would have also given you away. That was quite recent, it was his surprise for when you became Champion so now wedding planning is somewhere quite far in the schedule. Your management didn't consider it as important as you did, it's something you had to force into your schedule. They only care about managing your public image, personal problems don't rank high on their list of priorities when they're organizing your calendar.
Champions also have to be very involved with Galar and it's people. You had to understand the public opinion, the government opinion, and manage almost any incoming threat. That was terrifying, they sent you to anything just because you happen to be strongest around right now. You had to suck it up and protect the people, show them that their Champion can do probably anything.
You read over your schedule with Leon for a bit longer until you saw something in it that was irritating. "Leon. Why in the world do I have interviews for both New Years Eve and New Years. They can't take those days! I wanted to... I need to be..." You were fuming. You told them not to fill the holidays and they didn't for the past ones, but for some reason they filled those two dates.
"There isn't much you can do about that," He says. "You can try but I remember trying and they... if its urgent, its unlikely." Leon continued with saying that they probably gave you the prior holidays so that you didn't have room to completely complain about your management.
Your phone started ringing. You hesitated to pick up the phone knowing that it'll be someone to take you away for another interview, photoshoot, or fan meet. You didn't hate the people that wanted to meet you, your anger was mostly directed towards the people that were stuffing so much into your schedule. Leon was right though, they can't keep this up forever and hopefully later on it will get more tolerable.
"Are you alright?" His familiar voice caused your shoulders to ease up. You were crossing your arms on the table with your head laid on them. You had came home tired of socializing and still having to do some paperwork having to do with former Chairman Rose.
"Yes, I'm fine. I'm tired though, mentally tired to tell you the truth." You stretched your arms upwards then felt two arms wrap around your shoulders when you put them down. "Kabu, I can't be with you during New Years Eve or New Years. It says its urgent but I very much doubt these Talk Shows need me that badly."
You didn't hear anything from behind you for a long moment. He was most likely thinking, you were too, and depending on what he says, you might just consider the idea of letting him go. It hurt you to ponder upon such a thing, but there's other people out there that could give Kabu much more of their time.
"I understand," He finally said, "I'll open up the Stadium for those that need a warm place to be on those days and I will be thinking of you when the countdown starts."
"You don't have to be like that, you know? You don't have to understand, you can be mad at me, you can be frustrated at me, I won't... I won't blame you!" You got up from where you were sitting to face him. He held your hands and promptly shook his head in response.
"I'm not sure you knew this, love but you do not plan your schedule." He kisses your knuckles to comfort you. "If I am to be frustrated at anyone it will be whoever made you busy on those two days. Was there anything you could do about it?"
"I tried, but they just repeatedly tell me that it's an urgent thing I need to be at," You reply, a frustrated sigh escaping past your lips.
"You do what you have to, and think of me as I will think of you during the countdown." With a hand gently on the back of your neck he guides your mouth to his in a much needed relaxing kiss that made your body melt.
"Of course, you're right... you're right," You mumbled. Your eyes remained closed for a bit after the kiss before you were able to open them without feeling like they held sadness in them. "I love you, you know that?"
"I love you too."
Your stylist dressed you up nicely for the interviews, these events to celebrate a new Champion and a New Year. This is wrong, why does it feel like you were just rubbing it in everyone's face that you were now Champion? You were backstage waiting to be introduced, slouching in a nearby couch with your elbow on your thigh and your hand holding your chin. Finally you heard your name, you could see the crowd cheering on the screen, all anticipating your presence through the hall that all guests walk through.
Kabu opened the Stadium as he said he would, a lot more people came than he thought would. He had announced that it would be open to celebrate the New Year and there would be food and drinks. It wasn't going to be like that at first but you offered the funds and he couldn't say no. It was open for people and Pokemon alike and that brought his heart a pleasant feeling.
He missed you a lot though. He understood that you had things to do but he didn't realize just how attached he had grown to you for your lacking presence to impact him so much. His Stadium was playing the interview for everyone to see and the people that came; majority of them knew Kabu was engaged to the new Champion of Galar. He wondered if you were going to complete your end of the promise and think of him.
"Here's our new magnificent Champion, (Name)!" The cheers were loud, the "I love you's" came from all directions, and so did flowers. Roses, vibrant red roses that reminded you of Kabu. You sat down, a big smile on your face that only managed to be genuine knowing Kabu would see it. "How are you on this beautiful night, Champ?" The interviewer asked.
"I'm doing great, thank you! I actually have somethin' to say real quick, is that alright?" The interviewer furrowed his brows and pointed towards the camera you should speak to.
"Let's hear what (Name) needs to say folks! I wonder what it is! Sounds mysterious!"
"Perhaps it would be mysterious if paparazzi didn't exist," You responded. "I want to say I'm thinking about you, I'll see you soon!"
"Would my guess be wrong if I say that message was for your to-be husband and Fire Type Gym Leader Kabu!?" The interviewer raises your hand, the one that had the ring. "How is the wedding planning going anyway? Any progress?"
"Its somewhere in my schedule, we have ideas we hope to bring to life." The answer was simple and clearly not to the interviewers' taste. They had to remain unaffected though and continued smiling.
"We have a few fan questions we would like you to answer! First one being, would you date a fan?!"
"Absolutely not. I'm engaged, are you people not getting the memo?" You said this sarcastically, but with a tone of seriousness. It got you a laugh from the audience and you laughed along with them as truthfully as you could. "Not to be inappropriate or anything but I think— no. I know I'll be with Kabu for the rest of my life."
Kabu was almost as red as Gym outfit shirt, hearing the "Aww" from both the crowd in the Stadium and the ones where you were. In all honesty though, he would have said the exact same thing about you.
"A curious fan has asked: Do you sing in the shower?" You didn't think for long and answered it with a brief nod.
"I do sing in the shower, Kabu says it sounds good but I think he may just be losing hearing." Once again, the crowd laughed. "Who knows though, only he has ever heard me sing and no, I'm not singing!"
"You and Kabu live together as you've implied multiple times, has there been any mishaps in the kitchen by one of you?" You pondered on this question for a few seconds.
"Not yet, Kabu is a pretty good cook and surprisingly good baker!" You tried to think of an incident once again but nothing came to mind as of now.
"Have you used the 'Is your Dad a baker' pick up line on him yet?" You chuckled at the question and so did the crowd. You covered half your face as you nodded, confirming that you have used a pick up line on him. "I didn't expect that! How'd that go?"
"He still has no idea what I meant by the line and I suppose now is a good time to get it out in the open." It took you a moment or two to compose yourself. "When I said you had a nice set of buns, I was talking about your butt, Kabu!"
He was sitting in the middle of his Stadium, on the ground and when you said that, he fell back laughing much more than he usually would allow himself to in front of a crowd. He should have known that's what you meant then, all he wished to say in response was that he felt the same way. He knows you would have playfully hit him on the arm or something and thank him for the compliment.
A few more questions passed until it was getting close to the countdown. There was an ad break a few minutes before it started. You didn't want to be here, your heart was telling you to leave, take a flying taxi, find Kabu, find home, and be where you know you want to be. You slowly got up from the waiting area, ignoring the calling security, interviewer, and anyone else you just left.
Ten.
You ran, forgetting you had a flying taxi even though you thought about it moments ago. You only had one thing on your mind and that was reaching Kabu before the countdown was over. You ran, your legs wanting to stop but you wouldn't allow it, your lungs trying to take in all the cold air, and the fancy shoes on your feet making it even more difficult. You stopped and took them off, hastily picking them up then running again. No rock on the ground was stopping you from being where you wanted to be tonight.
Nine.
When the show came back on, you weren't there and he was confused. Apparently you had left abruptly, this caused him to worry and tried getting a hold of you through a text then called you.
Eight.
Kabu didn't know you ran off, leaving your items behind with only one goal in mind. His destination was within your line of sight and it made you push forward much faster, pushing your legs harder to make it before the time ran out.
Seven.
He wanted to be able to at least to see you through the screen as the countdown started. Where did you go? Why did you leave? Were you even okay? Now all he could think about was your well-being.
Six.
You were jogging past the hair salon, the many small stores on the sides, some which had people. People watching the Champion run to the elevator that would take you to Motostoke Stadium.
Five.
No one asked questions as you walked in, your legs almost wanting to give in. You continued, waving off others that wanted to help you walk towards the doors to the Stadium itself.
Four.
You stood in the tunnel for a couple of seconds, your eyes searching for Kabu. He who was watching the screen, hoping for your appearance or any news on your location.
Three.
The crowd spotted you first, the loud cheers startling Kabu as his eyes met yours when he turned his head in your direction. He never felt more relieved to see you there, why you had disappeared made much more sense to a lot people now that you were here.
Two.
With all the strength you could muster in your legs, you practically limped forward. Absolutely tired by the run and feeling like a whole idiot for not using a taxi when you could have at any point on your way here. He saw you panting, no shoes on your feet, you looked like quite the beautiful mess.
One.
No words are exchanged as you throw your arms around his neck, holding him in a tight embrace before your lips passionately meet his. He was slightly taken aback by the roughness of the kiss, you had his body right against yours, and a hand clutching the hair on the back his head. How long had it been since he has had something like this? He had forgotten how amazing this physical contact could feel and experiencing this made him feel as if it was a first kiss. Then the clock strikes twelve, your hold on him loosens, and its just you and him.
Your forehead was on his, you two were sharing breaths because of how long and sudden it was. Embarrassment hit you randomly when you realized there was a crowd, you left an interview, and Kabu was probably staring at you while you didn't dare open your eyes. Not until you could look at him and say something that didn't sound like you didn't know how to form sentences.
You could hear the crowd now, the whistling, the clapping, the stomping of their feet, any form of cheering the could make they did it.
"Another year of you and me," He said. "I am looking forward to another one." He gave you one chaste kiss for his own pleasure and you smiled.
"I look forward to another one too."
