ive never even looked at a castlevania and idk anything about arikado or who he is but based on your post hes beautiful and I want to smooch him

if you asked anyone else theyd tell you hes a tragic character finally starting to recover from a lifetime of suffering by connecting with the people around him and living like a human would. if you ask me i say that this is quite literally the lowest point of his life, he is not connecting with anyone he knows and is instead not only keeping them completely at arms length but is actively manipulating them for his own ends half the time, and hes probably only going to degrade further from here until he gets his shit checked by force. thats how varied interpretation can be!

hes amazing and i love him, basically hes the result of acting really out of character in one game for plot device reasons, and then in the next game they kind of try to fix it but then they accidentally imply things that dig the hole even deeper, and then when they try to fix it in the mobile game it just feels Wrong. if youve ever heard of alucard, pretty blond dhampir with a sword and the son of dracula, theyre the same guy! arikado is his modern day (not really, its set in 2035) disguise so he can supervise (stalk) the spunky reincarnation of his father and make sure said reincarnation doesnt go crazy evil like his dad did.

he is pretty! heres his design from the mobile game, Grimoire of Souls, where they try to characterise him properly this time (aka, like alucard is usually written), except it just comes off as weird by now because arikado and alucard feel very separate in the way they behave. i know a lot of people prefer this design over his regular one, and it makes him look even more like his father! it also harkens back to alucards design by using yellow where arikado would usually have red :)
