the tags on that reblog poll scare me lowkey bc if people only reblog when they enjoy something it means that if you have like 500 likes on a fic and 50 reblogs then only 25% of people enjoyed it 💀

I actually agree with that last anon, i think overexposure kinda “killed them” for the time being bc as much as the divorce allegations were ridiculous, it’s obvious they took several steps down from the craziness that was the start of the US tour. And it just so happened to coincide with them going viral for their gay antics every 2 business days. Later they weren’t exactly awkward onstage, like in 2023, just… detached, not searching for eo as much. The folks that pinpoint their “more aloof” era to post london are actually missing the last couple of concerts in the US that were also very mild in comparison with previous stops.
Europe wasn’t really great for them, as duo moments go, and that was apparent with the contrast of the encore concerts in Seoul. Some folks were mocking the doomsayers that had been talking about a cold war (and deserved) but the tl’s reaction is clear evidence it had been a while since we had seen jiminjeong be like that on a stage. Not being dramatic, just facts. It wasn’t the craziest concert ever either but they went back to some of their earlier playfulness, flirtiness and especially, interacting during the encore section, which to me is always the most meaningful bc that’s where they mostly act of their own volition (and there had been quite a few recent concerts with 0 jmj encore moments).
Anyways, sorry for the rant, it’s just apparent that even though they seemed “fine “ sth was different between them and I think it had much to do with what that anon pointed out… hopefully they can reset for comeback season, 2024 had such great energy, I wanna go back to that 😔
yeah, it's not that i don't agree with this narration of events or that overexposure (specifically on k-twt) caused / contributed to their dry spell starting from the later us shows. it makes sense and it's not outrageous to think they would react that way to knowing they're being perceived more. i dunno, i just don't like the implications of it. i don't want to think too negatively, but maybe i see it partly as like a slippery slope, of their career eventually causing them to drift apart idk hahaha that's why i don't like thinking about it and hope it isn't that serious
again, i don't want this to cause some toxic discourse or sow doubt or make jmjers less into the ship or any of that! dry spells happen, it is what it is. i like jmj not because they're constantly all over each other and feed us daily, but because they feel real and do seem to genuinely like each other. and yes, i hope for the same!
