i’ve been attending my university for three years and imposter syndrome still finds new and exciting ways to alienate me.
#imposter syndrome is perhaps the wrong word here#there was a protest today against the government's attitude towards college students and the accommodation and cost of living crisis#GOOD! love a good protest#and i agree with every point made#however when you attend a very posh college having not grown up posh... really makes you feel alone sometimes#there were people with their south dub accents chanting and cheering when campaigners said we need to 'march the streets & occupy buildings'#lads. you're no more going to do that than the man on the moon#and yeah yeah blah blah#i don't know anyones story etc#but there are very real problems that people like me and families like mine face#paying for accommodation because i can't live at home with mammy and daddy cooking me meals#trying and failing to avail of adequate health services for my brother because the waiting list is simply too long#so yeah idk. chant OCCUPY BUILDINGS all you want but i know at the end of the day you'll head home and have dinner made for ya#and vote in the same government because once you finish your law degree and the excitement of being a student wears off#you'll vote in who suits you best. fffg again#sorry for being cynical i just find it exhausting being around people from dublin sometimes
