Grian actually stomps his foot when he finds out. “What d’you mean this whole time you’ve been—!” He grasps for words, fingers opening and closing on nothing.

Cleo blinks at Etho. Etho blinks at Cleo.

“When I said and we were roommates,” Cleo begins incredulously, “what did you think that meant?”

Grian throws his hands up and paces a tight, angry circle. Then he halts like he’s just thought of something. “Were you kissing?” he demands, scandalized.

“I thought for sure you knew,” Etho says a little helplessly.

Cleo cackles. “No, he was too busy thinking about Scar, wasn’t he?”
