The howling is getting closer, isn't it? I hear it in those quiet moments between my heavy breaths and behind the rush of blood pounding in my ears. I keep trying to outrun it, but I know I won't. I hesitate every time before I take off, just half a beat before I start running. Because I know that it's a waste of time and energy. Because I know no matter how hard I run, no matter how far, I'm going to get caught.

And that despite it all, I know it's my purpose. I know that instinctually, my body craves it even when my mind recoils in terror. But when I get caught, pinned down, torn into, my boy will yield as much as it would if I got on my hands and knees and begged for it. My hunter's pleasure of using my exhausted prey animal body, my fate of being their sex toy and breeding victim- no matter how much I run, how strong I think I am, I am going to get caught.
