I’m sorry but that awkward interaction between Allan and Charlie is just…I know it was meant to be funny but it made me cringe in a way where I didn’t find it funny cos I thought the original scene in season 1 was cute but damn I guess not now. time for more soren character analysis:

petrine’s battle conversation with soren in chapter 23 has always been a favorite of mine, and now that i’m looking at it again i noticed a few extra details:

it’s important to mention that this battle takes place directly after ike and soren’s a-support, in which soren confesses he’s a branded and expects to be shunned, only for ike to tell him that it doesn’t matter and he wants soren to stay by his side regardless.

anyway, besides “Now let me show you true fear!” being a really hard line, it’s really cool to see how soren’s reaction to his branded status being pointed out changes so sharply over the course of a handful of chapters. i already analyzed his reaction to nasir’s betrayal where he’s agitated over the fact that he could have prevented it if nasir hadn’t threatened to reveal him being branded to the army, so seeing him being so confident in himself is great, and i’ll touch on why here.

one of the reasons i like to say the game treats ike and soren’s a-support as canon is actually this particular conversation. soren, having just been reassured that ike will always want him at his side regardless of who or what he is, now suddenly has had his biggest fear and insecurity taken off his back. he doesn’t need to hate himself for being branded because ike, the only person who’s ever truly mattered to soren, doesn’t care at all.

back to the conversation, soren’s judgment over the situation at hand is no longer clouded by his own self-loathing. instead of comparing them as branded and seeing himself as just as horrid and disgusting as petrine (tiger branded, fun fact), he’s able to instead compare them as individuals and realize that what he’s done up to that point will never measure up to the atrocities she’s committed. i think the best part personally is just how disgusted soren looks by the notion he and petrine are the same, because he’s right— him being cutthroat and pragmatic is nothing compared to everything petrine has done in daein’s name— and the fact he can clearly see this means that, for the very first time, he’s finally starting to heal from the mental wounds inflicted upon him by his childhood.

overall, i like this little nod to soren starting to learn to grow and change from who he was at the beginning of fe9. it’s more clearly seen in radiant dawn, where he’s calmer to the point ranulf even comments on it, but these little inklings implying the start of soren’s healing are really cool to see.

I would've loved that chapter with smut or without smut idgaf it doesn't even matter to me (and the same is for most of your readers too, I'm sure of it). We've all stuck around with your work for so long, and we have faith in your direction as well as your decisions regarding the pace of the plot. It's never that serious, especially not to the stage that bozos feel the need to weep in a writer's asks and swamp them with negative messages. Go jack off or play dj with your hello kitty and go to sleep like the rest of us.

Again, no matter what you do with your work it's entirely your choice. Ofc we as readers can have our own takes and how or why we interact with the work can vary, but it shouldn't reach this stage. I've seen this same story of bullying and pestering authors on tumblr too many times with other authors whose work I enjoy, and many have left their blogs because the harassment made them lose interest in writing and sharing their pieces. It's fucking heartbreaking. Pornhub dot com is right there for y'all to be doing entirely too much in the asks of these writers who are already overwhelmed and write and share all this FOR FREE. If you have so many qualms about it pick up that bic and get to writing bitch!

You're so welcome because I've read many a fic where people act like he'd clutch his pearls over killing someone like guys. Fellas. He's been on multiple B and A rank missions. He's absolutely fucking killed many people before, not to mention all the times lower ranked missions simply Go To Hell or a client lies about how dangerous a job is etc. Shit happens. He's literally training kids to be killers he would not be doing that if he had some uwu innocent civilian mindset

And he has three chakra natures! Fire, Water and Yin, as taken from his actual databooks. There's so much you can do with that alone just by looking the various jutsu in those three categories! We know he uses strong barrier seals so it makes sense for so many of us to have him as an excuse to create Seal Jutsu lore but you can expand outside of it too!

His basics would be fucking flawless given how often he has to teach them to kids, his aim with a kunai or shuriken is probably immaculate, like sure in a 1V1 taijutsu fight he's not beating Gai because Gai is a literal expert at that style but that doesn't mean he can't do decent hand to hand against other shinobi and bandits and fighters!

I saw someone complain once that some fans make him overpowered enough to "break the canon" and that has me going tch because like. Kishimoto broke his own canon powerscaling all the time. The Sannin. Sasuke and Naruto. Pain. Madara and Hashirama. Kakuzu and Hidan. Obito for a long while. Fucking Danzo even. If canon is allowed to break itself multiple times then so are we
