#sooo this is my first foray into oil pastels#and WOW what a tricky medium#the weirdest quality is that oil pastel basically refuses to become anything unless it's blended w a secondary color??#usually I preserve the lighter space so carefully but oil pastels don't want that!!#they want to blend with a secondary color or they're not going to show up at all actually!!#except in grainy quality that hurts my eyes#anyway I'll get better at this#just wanted to moan in the tags a bit#The Winter Soldier#Bucky Barnes#also idk how to tackle hair with these#OR DETAIL OF ANY KIND#the mask was mesh and finely detailed in the sketch :(#the hair looked great if you'd believe#we lost a lot of quality but went on a learning journey etc#captain america#catws#ca:tws
