was gonna call this a rewrite, but p much any Forces hc is a rewrite in of itself, most of the time, so:

Infinite "I hate Shadow so much, I will love you" the Jackal with Sonic ( this isn't a /pos, btw, he's toxic // abusive asf ), but he hates Super Sonic with all his dead heart 'cause Super Sonic 'has Shadow's eyes', so when he fights Super Sonic, he's pure venom and none of the 'love' he was before.

and, for Sonic 06 ( cuz ofc i did ), Mephiles "I hate Shadow so much, I will copy his life" the Dark with Sonic, because i made it so he was able to perfect Shadow's form ( colors and all ) and obtain his memories, so he manipulated Sonic and that's how he killed him.

i just think Mephiles and Infinite hating Shadow so much that they'd hurt Sonic, 'cause they know that would hurt him far more than any physical pain they could put him through, is gold, but, like, in a /neg way. fool's gold, mayhaps.

this was inspired by GinjaNinjaOwo's 'Aishite' Cookie Run animatic, yes, why do you ask?

decided to add onto this cuz i'm unhinged and still thinking about it.

the differences in Mephiles' and Infinite's approaches ( color coding for easier reading ):

Mephiles' need for Sonic's affection is entirely because it is how he can successfully execute his plan. // Infinite's need for Sonic's affection is because he developed an obsession for him over the six months he was imprisoned in the Death Egg.

Mephiles is Ado's 'Aishite' because it's violent, disorienting, and almost 'two faced'-esc right off the bat, with moments of calm and sweetness followed by yelling, screaming, etc. with the cover using the exact same lyrics as the original, too, it sounds like there's an underlying hatred, disinterest, or distaste for the recipient, like it's entirely for self-satisfaction. // Infinite is Will Stetson's 'Aishite' because one portrayal of it ( i say this as June's animatic portrays the song differently, i think ) can be an obsessive, codependent, possibly even delusional love, even if the sender finds the recipient 'a bore', and there's a playful, whimsical energy to it in certain spaces, as if trying to invite or persuade the recipient.

Mephiles technically does win. he successfully kills Sonic, breaks Shadow's and Elise's hearts at once ( for diff reasons ), and releases Iblis. if i made an animatic, the ending would be of Shadow holding Sonic's corpse, Mephiles looking down at both of them ( the formers are small, while the latter is gigantic ), snipping off their puppet strings, as they have no use to him anymore. // Infinite's 'win' is more complicated. at the final chorus ( "Give me your love x3" ), Sonic would be Super and the two would fight. in this hypothetical animatic, this would be the only time you would see Infinite being intentionally violent and hateful with Sonic, as all he can see is Shadow. but after the second to last line ( "People call these happy days" ), Sonic turns back to normal. it's then Infinite holds him, like he's something precious. and, though he's defeated, he's smiling. in his mind, he won, 'cause Sonic is 'who he's supposed to be' again. Infinite dies before he can even hear a rejection from Sonic. the only won who feels like he won is him.

( warped affection, overwhelming, demeaning, but possibly light-hearted )

But I want more. You're such a bore. Still, I want more, more than you bargained for, ahh! Sorry for what's coming! ( desire, begging, suffocating )

This is happiness! ( satisfaction, completion, sadism ) // People call these happy days! ( possible uncertainty, bittersweetness, death with a smile )

( btw, i'm viewing the lyrics as relevant to the hypothetical animatics, not saying that these are how the lyrics are actually intended to come across as to the audience )
