There are about 2000 lakes in Kyrgyzstan, the total area of which is 6836 square kilometers. Most of the lakes are alpine and lie at an altitude of 2500 to 4000 meters above sea level. The main reason for the formation of lakes is the melting of glaciers. Only 16 Kyrgyz lakes exceed an area of 1 square kilometer. The word "Kul" in the Kyrgyz language means lake - Issyk-Kul, Son-Kul, Chatyr-Kul. www.KyrgyzGuides.com #centralasiaguides #kyrgyzguides #sonkol #sonkel #sonkul #sonköl #songköl #songkol #songkul #songkel #sonkollake #sonkellake #sonkullake #sonköllake #songkollake #songkullake #songkellake #songköllake #naryn #kyrgyzstan #centralasia #silkroad #silkway #mountain #lake #nomad #outofcivilization #hiddengems #adventure #outdoor (at Naryn Region) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQjlt6wARKn/?utm_medium=tumblr
