the dinner made you feel like a teenager again, giggles filling the air as your knees would bump into each other under the table. you decided to listen to ryujin and take jimin to a reasonably nice, but cozy restaurant in downtown songpa-gu. it was nice enough to be considered appropriate for a proper date, but small enough to hide away from dispatch and any paparazzi that could potentially catch you two. although, being caught by dispatch didn’t even cross your mind once the whole time. or maybe you just didn’t care.

your giggles followed into the night air as you both stumbled out of the restaurant, after fighting over who would pay the bill (you won). you turned to jimin looking at her with a curious gaze when you saw her half lidded eyes focusing on you.

“thank you y/n. for the dinner, and everything.” looking at jimin, you decided you like her best like this; the wind slowly blowing her hair and the glow of the restaurants lights through the window shadowing her face beautifully.

“yeah, my pleasure.” you smiled at her, still stuck in a trance with her beauty. you must have had a distant look in your eye, because you heard her giggle at you.

“penny for your thoughts?”

“jimin, i think i’m falling in love with you.” you didn’t know what went over you to have said it so casually, but you were snapped out of the daze you were in. you noticed how her smile faded, an unfamiliar glint appearing in her eyes.

“what?”

“i think i’m-” you repeated yourself, but was cut off when she exasperatedly threw her arms up.

“no! i heard you the first time.” jimin brought two fingers up to the bridge of her nose, pinching at it. you could tell she was frustrated, but you didn’t know why.

“oh.”

“listen, i like you y/n, i really do. but i don’t know if i can fall in love with you.” your face dropped, you felt something in your chest breaking. it ached and you hated how it was jimin that caused it.

“was it something i did?” any other reason would have been sufficient for you, anything but her not feeling the same way about you because you were well, you.

“no. i’m just not ready for that. i thought we were just flirting.”

“you thought all of that was just flirting?“ you furrowed your eyebrows, you felt anger boiling up.

“wasn’t it? i didn’t think we were serious.” if you weren’t so mad, you would have cooed at how adorable she looked with her head slightly tilted.

“right.” you scoffed, feeling your shoulders slump, you could laugh at how defeated you must look.

“you’re mad.”

“am i not supposed to be?” you did laugh this time, laughing at how pitiful you were.

“i can’t help that i can’t fall in love with you, y/n.” jimin’s voice was dripping with indifference, another stab to your heart.

“yeah, i just can’t believe i fell in love with someone without knowing they weren’t falling with me. i really thought you would be the one to catch me, jimin.” you knew you sounded desperate, and you thought you saw her glare falter for a second. probably a trick of the light.

“i’m not that person for you, i’m sorry. i’m not ready to fall in love.” she lowered her head, almost as if she was sad. you would have been fooled if you weren’t at the receiving end of her cold stare just a moment before.

“i can wait for you.”

“i don’t think you should.” she shook her head, chucking dryly. was she making fun of you?

“can’t you at least try to love me?” all your dignity was thrown out the window, you just wanted to have a chance with her.

“i don’t know, y/n.” she shrugged her shoulders, a sigh leaving her lips.

“please, i-“

and just as you felt tears about to spill out, she turned around and walked to her managers car, not even bothering to say goodbye. you stood there pathetically, watching as the car slowly moved away, becoming a small blob. your tears came free falling once the car went out of view, you didn’t care if dispatch caught you sobbing your heart out in front of a random restaurant. all you cared about was how you just lost someone you found yourself falling for.

DAY 6, a Mini concert + Keyboard Instrument Gift for Children With Incurable Diseases…A Special Time.
