2017 Creations Tag Game

This was… not a good year for content creation, for me. Aside from Truth or Truths and the occasional ask meme, which I don’t count as real fics, I barely wrote 5 distinct pieces of fiction in the first place. Granted, one of them is 9 chapters/86k words, but still.

Without further ado, in chronological order:

1. prime and primal

Originally just a self-indulgent oneshot patterned off my existing KazaSen works, but it gained an extensive plot of its own before the first chapter was even finished. Also, fun fact: prime and primal was originally a working title and has exactly zero significance. There may be some renaming in my future…

2. “Don’t Forget My Smile”

A character study of Okita, and an exercise in exploring how OkiSai might fit into canon. Not much to say about this one, really; I’m just pleased with the way it turned out, and also in love with my own puns.

3. Amagiri’s parody of the Major-General’s Song

This didn’t get too much attention, but sticking to a rhyme scheme and meter like that wasn’t too easy (songs and poetry are basically the same in the cadence department), and I’m proud of being able to pull that off.

4. This nameless HaraShira mini-fic

Spawned from the “AU!Shiranui is a motorcyclist” headcanon. Might not be the most realistic or in-character thing I’ve ever written, but I enjoyed it anyway, and that’s the important thing~

5. “Δ”

An OkiChi oneshot heavily based on a true story. Like, 90% of the dialogue was directly lifted, and the rest was paraphrased or condensed. Everything about that situation just struck me as so incredibly Souji that I had to write it down. You tell me whether I was right.

Intern as an animator despite I wanted to be a pastry chef or any related to nature/animals career.

What are you talented at?

To be honest? I had no idea orz. However, I do enjoy writing stories when I've got an inspiration to write. Other than that, I do capable on taking a photo shot of plants and scenery.

What is a big goal you’re working towards?

I never think about 'big goal' that much. Does buying some interesting games in PS Vita/3DS can be included goal as well?

Ah, that's right. Another's goal that I've desiring to chase is to buy Suzuki Shougo Photo Collection, which is, I highly doubted that this kind of goal would be able to achieve OTLhonestly ever since I’ve heard Suzuki won’t take a role as Kazama in Harada-hen anymore, I couldn’t helped but desire to have his autograph or photo collection and all.

What is you aesthetic?

Anything's related to nature; forest, river, wildlife animals, wooden house surround with forest, etc. And desserts/cakes as well.

Do you collect anything?

Meh.... I used to enjoy collecting seashells when I was a kid. But now... I don’t know.

What’s a subject you always talk about?

It depends. There are times I'm into Hakuouki. There are times I'm into Pokemon, Harvest Moon, anime, games, etc. However, I'm pretty much a very shy person, anyone's want to talk about mutual OTP, I'll be gladly excited.

Pet peeve?

Somehow it's quite disgusting seeing my NOTPs on my dashboard especially Hakuouki fandom; KazaSen, OkiSai and AmaKimi i had never dislike AmaKimi before but somehow, seeing them on my dashboard everyday and every time it’s kinda annoys me now.

Some random strangers who suddenly make some heavy jokes despite I never knew him/her, including worker-mates.

Getting lectured whether I'm doing something childish/stupid/selfish.

Good advice?

Partners in Crime by Set it off I mean… Look at the title. (Okay, that’s not a good reason.) I really feel the refrain fitting their teamwork, the way they belong to and depend on each other until the very end. In all of the other parts it’s the music: the rythm and effects remind me of a swordfight, it has a pulse similar to calculated but instinctive movements. It’s just awesome, like the two of them fighting side by side, lives on the line.

Flesh by Simon Curtis (Uhm… How does one make this sound good? ) This is the song that inspired me to write my first OkiSai smut (it’s in Hungarian and way too long to translate alone, sorry). I can’t explain it, somewhy I can totally see them engaging in more violent bedroom activities to let steam out from time to time. I know their job is a violent one too, but maybe that’s exactly why. I mean… Souji is good with knots and his hands, both of that is canon, right?

Angel With a Shotgun by Imagine Dragons This could be either romance, or deep friendship, and/or deep understanding. There is the sense of fighting for a cause without regard to moral standpoint; more than that, the person is saying I will stop being an “angel” ( a “good” person?) in order to do whatever has to be done: to me that’s both Okita and Saito, not so much for the Bakufu, but for the Shinsengumi (Kondo and/or Hijikata) and very much including each other.  Whatever else they may be to each other, the thing that comes across very strongly is the sense of “this is the person I trust at my back absolutely”.  Whatever it takes for me to protect this person, we fight together.

The Greatest by Sia This exemplifies the concept that these two are each other’s peers - rivals, comrades, more-than-friends (the concept of nakama comes through for me).  The one person that they pit themselves against, over and over again, and in whose strength and skill they trust absolutely (as a peer, not a leader/parent).  This song also brings in that concept of exhaustion, and fighting through exhaustion, that I associate with both of them as they strive to be the best because they have to be.  Incidentally, I’ve always had a strong head-canon that Souji is low-key jealous of Saitou as time goes on, especially after Serizawa fans the flames.*  (This is also worsens as Okita’s health fails, while Saitou remains healthy and mostly undefeated - depends if you’re counting Kazama.  But this is a personal hc.) Anyway, there is both exhaustion and desperation about the song, along with a keen edge of brutally-won victory. That’s a feeling, an aura, which I perceive swirling around these two very young, damaged, brilliant swordsmen. Again, I think this song could work for friendship, or for a romantic, and/or a sexual relationship.  But I think I prefer it for something strong - it would be a profound ‘beyond words’ kind of thing, even if non-romantic, and I see a potential sexual edge to it.

*Serizawa points out Saitou to Souji saying “now there’s a man who has killed” (effectively) - and it conveys a strong weight of “being a ‘real’ man.”  That triggers Souji’s increasing bloodlust and/or need to prove himself (which Saitou never does approve of, in my opinion).
