fun little notes about vesper, bc I wanna ramble about him and no one can stop me >:3
• Vesper's name is based both on my personal name, Meretūahiahi (evening star), and an affectionate name my partner has given me, Nightshade
• Themes of the sea and stars were inspired by how my people were known for, travelling across the ocean by star navigation. Though, in Vesper's story, he was a curious star that fell from sky, landing in the sea
• As mentioned in the tags of my last post, Vesper is afraid of the Emeritus family. All for good reason, of course. He's of a heavenly/celestial background, so yknow, oooh tension. Totally not using this for some corruption arc! Definitely not... Maybe-
• Is he a bit much? Yeah, probably. He's not OP, so at least there's that. He's a pathetic little guy, and openly so! Is it the anxiety? The feeling of not truly belonging? AHA- yes
• Vesper's design is intentionally meant to reference Captain Ao/Cloudburst, my art persona! It's no secret that those two are connected in some way, even sharing similar origins
