#somno used to be a huuuge trigger/squick for me and now that i've come around on it it's just sort of meh after a while for me.

this is like probably the most milquetoast of takes but: maybe it's just the combo of fandoms and characters i search for, but i find a lot of somno fics really boring because it's all the same premise--character walks in on you while you're sleeping and fingers you/fucks you but only after we describe how they admire how lovely and helpless you are!

and i say this as someone who wrote two shorts with that exact premise! i'm not helping my own cause! i just feel like there are a lot of possibilities with that trope/kink that sort of aren't explored much in some fandoms, in favor of the same schtick that people like enough that it's super common i guess.
