ohhhh my gosh i dont typically answer asks without art but i need to tell you everything

the mc is definitely light and his personal magical girl mascot is ryuk with L being the more experienced magical girl/boy(?) of the two (his mascot would be watari with fairy wings) (they use a death note/laptop to transform(of which ive designed magical girl counterparts for))

plot would be something like light getting to be a magical girl to help everyone and rid the world of evil much like canon light except L works as his senpai and teacher during his early magical days

as for later on im a sucker for AUs where a bright eyed light gets crushed by the cruel world and he learns the difficulties of being a magical girl (with him still balancing being the perfect student ofc) (can you tell i loved madoka magica ofc you can)

light tries to rework the magical girl system as stereotypically as humanly possible for a dn AU

insert anti-magical girl magical girl squad staring team kira and light goes on his own vigilante path

(its so rough but i also have ideas for misa being the third member)
