#sometimes you juryrig your badass entrance into the premium school of sorcery of the setting that you werent supposed to attend AND FOR WHAT

Last weekend in our Exalted campaign:

so much happened.

the shortest version is "the Sesus attempted to take over the school (we helped everyone escape and fought off our Sesus classmate the Azula granddaughter of the Scarlet Empress) and then Mmemon and the Cathak staged a coup. And so school's out for those of us neither Cathak nor Mnemon." and the war broke out

Which means everyone of interest except my character's JC (Mnemon Sennet) and JC's awful Sylvain-Gautier-ass Cathak betrothed had to find another school to attend.

And then there was the FIVE-YEAR-TIMESKIP, during which the war went off, and lots of stuff relevant to our characters happened (childhood besties disappeared but crucially the beloved sister of Sennet DIED and Sennet thinks ARKIS' HOUSE DID IT and so Sennet hasn't talked to Arkis for THE PAST TWO YEARS.)(other PCs: have their childhood besties disappear and or being held hostage. Arkis: has his childhood bestie stop replying to his letters and immediately doesn't deal well.)

Arkis needs his house to not make decisions that make him get stuck in the doghouse especially if he doesn't even know if they're really actually behind the sister's death or not. (Ideally everyone should ask for Arkis' opinion before making decisions.)

And if they are whose head he needs to send Sennet to be forgiven.
