there is a DIFFERENCE between AFAB reader and FEMALE READER PLEASSEE I am so tired of reading fics thinking "aw hell yea finally some trans rep" AND THEN SUDDENLY BE HIT WITH GIRL OR EVEN WORSE, PRINCESS AUGUGHAG

afab tends to be for gender neutral readers with, you guessed it! an afab body! so it can include nonbinary ppl, trans man, AND cis women all in one!!! but only if u care to not add any gender indicators. otherwise pls just. tag it as the gender ur targeting

now, female and otherwise tagged as fem!reader or f!reader is usually for, again, you guessed it! women!! cis women! and maybe trans women too depending on what kinda stuff they like to read! (like. with mentions of genitals n stuff) this stuff usually mentions the word girl or any other feminine pet names or pronouns and it is infuriating going into a fic tagged as afab expecting gender neutral shit, only to be called PRINCESS it makes my skin crawl like holy shit

I can't make u listen to me but if u care PLSS LISTEN TO ME ik for a fact a whole bunch of other trans afab ppl have experienced this and I'm almost sure it can be just as infuriating for them as it is for me
